Glad we booked

Booked at the last minute after joining the caravan and motorhome club and I'm glad we did. Lovely little site very claim and a 20 minute stroll to the a lovely sandy beach. There's a coastal bus that stops outside campsite every half an hour and for £3 a day you can jump on and off as many times as you like, excellent value for money. You can walk into St Davids where there is a lovely Cathedral and it would probably take you about half an hour at a steady stroll. The road to the campsite can be a little tight at times but all the roads around the area are exactly the same, but what else do you expect you're out in the country and want a country if is. The birds do some people have complained about I really did not find an issue at all. We would definitely go back and the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.

Great place for a family stay. Can be action packed or as tranquil as you like. Wardens are first class. Would highly recommend.

This is a wonderful site set in beautiful countryside. Great for exploring the area. Beaches are spotless and water is crystal clear. Plenty of quiet coves if you are prepared to ditch the car and walk a little way. A location where you can be as active or relaxed as you please. Good site for children and dogs. Plenty of safe walks and dog freindly beaches nearby St Davids is within walking distance and the cathedral is well worth a visit. Dale is a great day out to try your hand at paddle boarding etc. Trave the coastal road for great views .

Great site to explore this part of the country

This site has excellent facilities, clean and well situated. The wardens were most helpful in dealing with questions and making us feel welcome. Thank you for a pleasant few days.

An exceptionally well maintained site in a lovely location

A fabulous site and we received a very warm welcome from the wardens. We were able to choose our own pitch from those available and as the weather wasn't too good we chose pitch 5 as it was in a more sheltered spot (some of the pitches get better views but were more exposed to the awful weather!). The site was very well maintained and the facilities were excellent. Although the site is in a rural location there is a frequent local bus service from outside the site into St Davids and surrounding villages. Yes, there are rooks in the trees, but they made no more noise than the sheep in the fields in the next site we visited! We hope to return to the site soon to do all the walking the awful weather meant we couldn't do this year. Thank you to all the wardens for making our time on site such an enjoyable experience.

4 night stay July/August 2017

Come on you people complaining about the rooks, look at what this site has, some fantastic views, brilliant area, ease of access via local bus to St. Davids ( beautiful place ).Staffed by as good as it gets people, if there is anything that site does need larger or second toilet block would go down a treat. Back to the rooks they did not disturb us what so ever ( we did read reviews before-hand perhaps we were over prepared for what turned out to be a not event ). Thanks again all of the staff. We will be back to see you again soon.

Pleasant site with views

We had booked in for 2 days at this site. The member of staff gave us a warm welcome with a laid back attitude to being able to choose your own pitch which is great. The shower block was brilliant and spotless as was the whole site. It has lovely views and is well cared for but the downside is the Rooks. I quite like the noises that the odd rook makes but found it annoying in the early hours on the first night. The second night I must have got used to them as it didn't wake me. The site is a little out of the way but there is a frequent shuttle bus which we made use of.

Fabulous

Pathetic moaners and whingers!!! Truly feel sorry for you.! Honestly thought that our Caravaning and Motorhome community shared a common interest...the great outdoor life and nature that comes with it. Day three of ten night stay here...first impressions. Yes, there are Rooks on site but the reports by previous reviewers are exaggerated in the extreme. I'm sure a keen "twitcher" might correct me, but my observations thus far...rooks up and leave for a day's work fairly early, around 6am returning en masse around 8.00pm each evening, after which it's lights out for them and pretty quiet. Have been gently amused by the silly reviews of others on this topic, surely you have better things to do....or perhaps not??? Site Hosts very welcoming, very hardworking on behalf of members...thankyou, your efforts are really appreciated. Stunning scenery all around....although the seagulls can get a bit noisy by the sea.....whoops, sorry forgot, as looking for absolute peace and quiet, perhaps we should have stayed at a monestery!!!!!

The rooms are a real problem and spoiling this site

We stayed for three nights here in early July. First the good points. The warden who booked us in was very friendly and more relaxed than is often the case and we were informed we could either drive or reverse onto the all important peg. This is important for campervans like ours to have the opening door into the sun. The shower/dishwashing facilities were cleaned to the normal high standard and the block appears to have been refurbished not too long ago. There is only one block but 10 showers for ladies anyway. Grass was kept cut and bins etc emptied. We loved the location as it was great for using our electric bikes into St Davids, to the beach and as far as Porth Gain to visit the excellent Shed for fish and chips. Now for the irritants. My usual moan is why does the shower block have to be cleaned so early, at least 10.30 here not 10.00 as in some places, and why does it have to be closed for 1.5 hours. Most commercial UK and foreign sites manage to keep blocks just as clean as the club without closing at all. Most are happy to use the facilities whilst a cleaner is present. For the 1.5 hours of closure it leaves one toilet for the entire site. Why not clean the block later in the day so people can enjoy being on holiday and not have to dash to get there before it closes. With four wardens it must be possible to clean and deal with new arrivals? Also on Sunday anyway reception also closed for the hours the block was being cleaned meaning having rushed to shower we couldn't get our Sunday paper to enjoy. Major problem is though that the site is being overrun by the rookery. We live in the country and are used to cows, sheep and early morning jackdaws but here there are literally hundreds of rooks making a racket from 3am until late at night without let up. As they roost in the centre of the main field they affect you on most pitches and after three days we had had enough of them. Something needs to be done to control them even if it means cutting down the trees. if I return to the area I will chose nearby commercial options because of this problem. I do not want to be woken at 3am every day.

Brief stay

We'd booked in for a week'stay but unfortunately due to the rookery on site we left after 2 days! The rooks squawked from 4 in the morning till 10 at night, with only brief respites in between! I know the Club are unable to do much about the rooks but as we were wanting peace and quiet we decided to leave. I'm not sure if this problem is year round or only whilst young rooks are there, I didn't ask. The site facilities are good and as the site is located close to the coastal walk it would have been ideal for us and our dog. However, the site has no dog walking facilities of its own so we had to walk down a lane that was quite busy. We didn't make use of the bus service but it's ideal for those who prefer to leave their car at home. We certainly won't be making a return visit and will be sticking to CL sites, which is where we normally set up.
