A very pretty peaceful site set in woodland. Facilities were very good, toilet block spotless and well maintained. Lots of hot water. Motorhome service point was easily accessed and in good working order. The staff were very friendly and helpful making it a pleasure to visit.
Lovely break
We;'ve recently returned from a lovekly weekend at Meathop Fell.
It was out first visit to the site and we arrived when it was dark, so couldn't really pick out a site for the view. However, we were told that if we wanted to move pitch the following morning once we'd had a walk around in daylight we could do, which I thought was fair enough. However, as we were only there for 2 nights we decided to stay where we were.
We ate evening meal at the nearby hotel which was very good. We walked into Grange over Sands and back on the Saturday and had a wonder around (not been there since I was a small child).
All in all it was a very pleasant weekend.
Autumn Break
Another enjoyable return visit.
Site continues to suffer from pitiful wifi notwithstanding usual Club's tariff being applied.
Too many members still ignore on site speed limit.
Wardens efforts to maintain a high standard of cleanliness are spoilt by members who consider it is acceptable to take non guide dogs inside washroom facilities.
On balance the site is good and well worth a visit.

short break
First time at this site.interesting access road to site definitely arrive after 12.
the staff were very welcoming and efficient.the site is well kept . some pitches need levelling blocks and some were to short for our outfit but found a reasonably level pitch . tv and wifi are good.one for future visits.
visited Sizergh castle on the friday .well worth a visit.
Short Break
Once again we have had a lovely break at this site. It is set in an area of outstanding beauty with lots to see and do without going to far afield. Only negavtives are the speeding which we witnessed. There are signs up all over the site requesting that people drive at 5mp and once again people were totally ignoring this. It is totally unacceptable and something does need to be done about this before someone is badly hurt. The only other thing I would say is that this site is at the end of a narrow lane with a steep incline and we witnessed three caravans arrived well before the 12. o clock arrival time, this would certainly cause problems for people leaving the site with their caravan. But moan over this site is well worth a visit and we will certainly be returning again in the future.

A car park
Have been waiting to come here for a long time. Been to all other sites in Lake district and most are ok - to very good.
Was very disappointed here as I thought most of the site is a car park and a lot of unlevel pitches. No dog walk. Wi Fi Bring back Wells Fargo it would be quicker
Stayed for two nights on way back from Scotland. Will not stay again.

Good Site
This is a good site with friendly, helpful and knowledgable wardens and ground-staff. The facilities are excellent and maintained by the wardens to a very high standard. Our stay was affected by barking dogs - when one starts yapping they all start. If you are going to bring your dog keep it under control. Like many club sites the long access from the main road is narrow and, in key parts, steep and single-track. Because of this it is important to stick to the requirement not to arrive before the stated time - this site is 12 noon. Today when we were leaving at 11.25 we met a car and caravan on the narrowest (single-track)and steepest part of the access road and were meet with abuse from the elderly driver. Arriving early is an issue that the club has to address.

No lawn mowers?
We were on the site for two weeks between the 5th & 19th August & had generally beautiful weather. The conditions were perfect for grass to grow, but for the first time ever on a Club site we were not disturbed by the sound of mowers! The self catering accommodation on the site, however, seemed to be mown every other day & even had shrubs pruned. As this involved one warden watching & one working, it would have been good if the smaller mower, which was ‘parked’ could have been put to good use. Having said this, we would return to the site.
August Bank Holiday Retreat
After a very busy day dealing with the public we were looking forward to a warm welcome, this we did not get.....we did feel the Wardens on Friday and Saturday were not friendly!! We have a 7.37 m caravan and as we arrived at 6.30pm (early in our book) we had limited pitches, but settled for pitch 94, not sure what would have happened if we had been the last to arrive.... The pitches vary quite a lot a lot so it is a lottery. But the site is pretty. Only rated a 3 for facilities as my husband got the dodgy shower on the first morning. After a day out on the Sunday we arrived back to no electric. We went to the Office and there must of been a change over of Wardens lovely couple with a gorgeous dog, the Warden (sorry did not get the name) came to our van straight away to check the electrics, we could not find a fault and eventually got it going, many thanks to the happy Warden who helped us. On Monday my husband asked for a late departure and we got one wow. Thank you to the lovely lady warden. We do think that £92.10 is a little steep (not sure where the 10p comes from) WIFI worked good for us. The hotel next door is lovely. We will return to see the "Happy wardens" thanks again for the late stay..

Lovely site despite poor access
Loved this site as it gave excellent access to the Lake District and the coast.
Facilities are spotless and the site itself seemed quiet. Small children had a play area but everyone respected the evening peace. One bug bear was no dog walk but the is some woodland just off site. U fortunately, one of my dogs could never quite make it that far without performing (usually in Front of someone's caravan!)
My biggest complaint is that, despite it stating clearly in the book, not to arrive on site before 1pm due to narrow lanes, people were turning up from 11am with their caravans and being allowed to set up. We missed meeting an incoming van as we left the park, at 11.20am! Why can't people abide by the rules and why can't the site enforce them sufficiently. I would like to return to this site but would be nervous when it comes to leaving, for fear of meeting an oncoming caravan.
