Return Visit

We first visited this site over 25 years ago. We liked it then and still like it now. We visit perhaps twice a year. This was our first trip out this year and again we were looking forward to the stay. As always the wardens were friendly and helpful but I have to say that we were disappointed that the shop no longer offers newspapers nor do they have the mobile chippy anymore!! The facilities were again spotless but I have to say they are again looking a little bit dated and the water pressure in the showers was poor. The television signal at this site has been poor for many years and the booster system is as much use as a chocolate fireguard! Come on club, please do something about this Having said all that we enjoyed our stay, in particular a visit to the new boat museum at the side of Lake Windermere. The trip on the steam launch was excellent. We will be returning to the site later in the year as it is in such a fantastic location

nice relaxing well kept site with exalent wardens.

We use this site quite often, we love it.Tthe wardens are very friendly, helpfull and informative. The site is well kept, clean and tidy.It is handy for the Lakes, Yorks Dales and west coast sea side resorts. We have had meals at the Gilpin Bridge and the Woodlands Hotel, both superb. fish and chips at Arnside is also a must.

another perfect club site

this was a first visit for us and as it was only 45 mins from home we were hoping for it to be a destination for a quick retreat from the bustle of everyday life. we were not disappointed. the site is well tended, clean and spacious pitches. the wardens were welcoming and helpful with suggestions of pitches that would suit us. the dog walking, although not on site was just outside the door and a local hotel restaurant is also just outside the site, doing reasonable food. we were lucky with the weather in February and enjoyed a stroll along the promenade in Grange over Sands which is only a 10 minute drive away. we shall return especially as it is so near.

Poor WiFi and leveling on some pitches difficult

This is a lovely site BUT Considering this site has had a "makeover", you would have thought that some of the points raised by members would have been improved upon - such as > WiFi is very poor on this site > Some of the pitches are almost beyond leveling for modern caravans/ motor homes. It would have been good for the club to have addressed these points and made this site 100% Suppose club members will still be raising these points throughout 2019 but I hope points are taken on-board and fixed. This site would other-wise be top rated, wardens are great, toilet blocks are superb, layout is good, the area and views are superb.

Lovely site

This is a lovely site ,immaculate, great showers, very pleasant and efficient wardens..a good walk into grange about 3 miles but easy walking, a nice lunch in grange and a good walk back, we are only an hour from home so it makes an ideal 2 nights in winter to give our motorhome a run, spring time would also be lovely here.

Lovely break

We;'ve recently returned from a lovekly weekend at Meathop Fell. It was out first visit to the site and we arrived when it was dark, so couldn't really pick out a site for the view. However, we were told that if we wanted to move pitch the following morning once we'd had a walk around in daylight we could do, which I thought was fair enough. However, as we were only there for 2 nights we decided to stay where we were. We ate evening meal at the nearby hotel which was very good. We walked into Grange over Sands and back on the Saturday and had a wonder around (not been there since I was a small child). All in all it was a very pleasant weekend.

Autumn Break

Another enjoyable return visit. Site continues to suffer from pitiful wifi notwithstanding usual Club's tariff being applied. Too many members still ignore on site speed limit. Wardens efforts to maintain a high standard of cleanliness are spoilt by members who consider it is acceptable to take non guide dogs inside washroom facilities. On balance the site is good and well worth a visit.
