Wonderful site and wardens.

Stayed here 28th September for 5 nights. Weather helped as mid 20c. Cannot praise the site enough. Clean, tidy, quiet and wardens welcoming. Initially changed site to Meathop to follow the good weather on the morning of our trip. Central booking contact centre extremely helpful and change completed in few minutes. On arrival had to initially go on grass pitch as hard standing with awning all booked. Rachel was brilliant and after we had just pitched up before putting up awning, she advised us through her husband, sorry can't remember his name, that a pitch had become available. Pitch was excellent and flat! She even went the extra mile as we'd forgotten washing up liquid and whilst there is no shop on site, she gave us some of hers. First class service. We hadn't been to Meathop for a couple of years but will not leave it so long again. Thanks to all the wardens on site for a wonderful stay.

Gorgeous Grange

Just had another lovely stay at Meathop Fell near Grange over Sands. The site was almost full but still very quiet. Facilities were immaculate as ever. The site is convenient for Grange, we cycled there, which has a lovely promenade or nice to stop and have a coffee or visit the local shops. We took our electric bikes (it's very hilly) and loads of great places to cycle, or get the train from or back to Grange station with the bikes. We visited Windermere, Arnside and Silverdale and Ulverston. The countryside and views were amazing and the roads mainly quiet country lanes. Well worth a visit!

Best in the country

Having visited Meathop for well over 15yrs now we are never disappointed. The site is always impeccably presented and the facilities faultless. The wardens, Tim & Nadine, are exemplary and a credit to the club. This is how all club sites should be run. Shame some other sites do not uphold the same ethics. If you are looking for a relaxing stay with five start amenities then Meathop is for you.

Spot on site

Have visited this site a few times now during our short caravanning ownership. We chose this site as we know the area of Grange over sands quite well so knew it would be an easy drive. The last half mile or so as a new caravanner was a little worrying at first but - no problems thankfully. The site itself is lovely, the staff also are lovely and the facilities on site are clean, plentiful and first class. Will definitely be returning.

Probably the best site we have been on!

We have been Caravaners for decades but have had a decade off caravaning until we bought a small folding Gobur caravan last July. Since then we have been to a few CL's which have all been good but visiting our son and family 300 miles away we decided to try a full CAMC site and chose Meathop Fell. We arrived at about 4pm and although the access roads were very narrow we had no problems gtting there. Good signing to a parking arrivals reserved spot. Friendly welcome and we had a map to explain the layout. We were invited to tour the site by car but chose to do it on foot and selected a hardstanding with awning pitch which was well laid out and very tidy indeed. Toilets and showers were some of the best we have ever seen for layout and cleanliness. It was May and we had wonderful weather as well for the week we were there. Bins were emptied daily. Grass was cut more often than my home lawn and looked a lot better as well. No railways, roads or other sources of unwanted noise either. Next time we visit our son and family in Cumbria I don't think we will try to look at another site, I don't think we could find a better one (but don't tell anyone!!!!).

Overnight Stay

An obviously kid friendly site - with lots of children on their bikes ( nice to see them enjoying themselves). A lovely dog enclosed run. Good shower and clean toilet facilities would stay again.

Lovely peaceful site

Fantastic site in a lovely peaceful place. Facilities are excellent, very clean and lots of showers and private cubicles. The welcome was warm and friendly, and really helpful. Close by the Woodlands Hotel serves good food and there is a great Pizza Van onsite at weekends. We are new to Campervans and still have a lot to learn - we were made to feel very welcome. I would highly recommend the site.

Nice clean, tidy, quiet site.

I had a very enjoyable 2 night stay in January 2024. The site is spacious, clean, tidy and quiet. I was very lucky with dry, sunny (ish) weather so did a couple of nice walks to Meathop Moss, and Grange over Sands. A bit remote though if you don't like walking too far. My pitch was flat and spacious with plenty of manoeuvring room. Nice view too. Fresh water and waste facilities were very close so no complaints. I did notice some of the pitches were on quite a slope though. Will be visiting again.

A cosy retreat

This was our first time at a clubsite and was very impressed with how clean and tidy it was. As we came out of season, it was nice and peaceful too. We had fantastic cold dry weather, stunning views from our caravan pitch. Very scenic. The showers and toilets were very clean and nice hot showers. Really liked the dog walking areas and the information hub. Lots of choices to visit, although not all open at this time of year. Will definitely come here again and will come when it's warmer and bring our bikes.

Avoiding Storm Babette

We were supposed to be going to Hebden Bridge and had only booked 7 days earlier. Then news of Storm Babette approaching concerned us enough to consider cancelling but online cancellation would have lost us our deposit and we didn't think it was fair due to only booking a week earlier. The 21 day cancellation policy doesn't alter for last minute bookings which is a flaw I think. Having said that, I rang CAMC for options as Hebden Bridge was under amber weather alert. I didn't want to take any risks but didn't want to lose my deposit either. We choose Meathop Fell (30 mins from home) as we weren't under any weather warning. We had to pay more as Meathop is a more expensive site but had a lovely weekend, warmly welcomed by the wardens and no wind or rain to speak of. Top notch facilities, pizza and burger nights on site, fabulous motorhome service point and friendly approachable wardens.
