Lovely stay again. Site very clean and tidy. Helpful staff and friendly. Very handy for surrounding area`s. We were lucky with the weather. Will definitely book again
Lovely site and peaceful night
We had a change of plan and area and swapped to this site last minute and we had a lovely stay at Meathop Fell.
There’s a pub/restaurant about 10 minutes walk away which did nice food. There are incredible views from some parts of the site across the bay and some wonderful hills and mountains.
The site we felt was relaxing, had a couple of dog exercise areas and the pitches were nicely spaced.
We really enjoyed our stay,

Great again
Enjoyed our stay at Meathop Fell again!
Facilities immaculate, site very tidy.
So much to see within a few miles, in this quieter part of Cumberland.

Nice but very very unwelcoming
Arrived just after 12 noon instead of the 1pm required. Was met by an angry staff member (with a dog) who told us to basically to go away but said we could come back at 12:30. I did apologise and asked if we could stand and wait due to the 8 metre size of our motorhome. Unfortunately not , was told to go and wait down the lane near the bus stop! So we did for the required 20 minutes and returned. Site was nowhere near full-totally unnecessary!
When I did check in, I made nothing of it. When I asked for information for our stay, the same staff member pointed to something outside and said I would find some there .. Again, unfriendly and unnecessary.
The site was nice but I will not be returning to this one.
Lovely peaceful campsite
Lovely campsite - nice park for kids - rules to quiet after 10pm (and it was).
Large pitched with large areas between them - some, if not most need levelling blocks so go prepared
Fab little field next to/park of the site where you can walk your dog or let off lead
Staff very friendly and helpful
be careful on pitch 82 as it can get waterlogged in heavy rain but it is a beautiful, quiet pitch
Facilities were spotless and cleaned to a high standard every day
As with most of the campsites in the Lakes it is a bit of a drive to most attractions
Beautifully cared for site in a lovely rural location
Just spent two weeks touring around CAMHC sites and chose this one at the last minute for the final few nights of our trip. So glad we did as the site is just lovely. Peaceful and relaxed with well spaced out pitches on various surfaces and levels. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially when the water was shut off due to a leak in the area. They came around every van at 10 at night to let us know it was back on. Everything was so neat and tidy and the toilet block was in great nick. The only niggle was that a key was needed to get into the toilets and this was, as expected, left in the caravan on one or two occasions, requiring a return trip! Great wood fired pizzas from the van which is there from Thurs to Sun. For sure, one of best sites we’ve visited over our 12 years of CAMH membership.

Large Quiet Site
This is a large, quiet site, which is divided into several sections. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, with lovely grass areas between pitches. It is a little hilly, so almost anywhere you are on site you have to walk up hill to the amenity block. There are plenty of toilets and showers with hot water, and the dishwashing area is just outside the ladies. The ladies and gents are opened with a key, which you will be given when you check in.
The dog walk is a large field with mown paths, whilst the rest is left long for the wild life. (Unfortunately, not all of the dog owners cleared up after their dogs, so we were doing it whilst we walked ours - shame on you rotten dog owners). There is also another area for dogs, which has poles and ramps, etc. for them, but this was even worse than the dog walk area for mess, so we didn't even go in, we just looked over the fence.
There is a nice play area for children, but we didn't have children with us, so not sure how much fun it is, and dogs are not allowed in there.
There is a van for hotdogs, chips, burgers, etc. The prices are quite reasonable, although we just had a couple of cans of drink as we weren't hungry.
The only downside was the access. We came from Grange-over-Sands and we had to use forward and reverse several times to get the motorhome onto the road into the campsite. When coming from that direction it is an acute angle and goes uphill.

Scenic Site
Booked this site only the day before arrival and requested a pitch close to the facilities due to walking difficulties. The person on duty gave us a choice of the most suitable pitches available [thank you]. We chose a pitch opposite the toilet block under a tree. It was quiet with plenty of space around us. I noticed all the pitches were quite big so plenty of room for privacy. The toilet block was immaculate with plenty of facilities and lovely hot water. I used the disabled facility which was immaculate too. Due to the wet weather we didn't leave the site but we were quite happy sitting in our motorhome enjoying the scenery around us. We even saw a squirrel running past. Will visit this site again if we are in the vicinity.
Lovely quiet site
We had booked a fully serviced pitch which was a great size for our motorhome and awning. Site was very, very tidy and had lots of beautiful bedding plants growing in tubs, wheelbarrows etc. Toilet Block was immaculate and always plenty showers available. Good dog walking areas available on the site, nice small agility field. Lovely site to walk around and wardens have definitely added a lot of extras.
Details of a few local walks were available in the information hut. Grange Over Sands is definitely worth a visit, to walk along the promenade and visit the shops. Would have liked to visit Cartmel but no buses run on a Saturday or Sunday.
Not sure why caravan and motorhome club don’t have quiet times overnight like private sites. Was wakened by a neighbour at 6.15 am loading up his caravan and then moving his car to hitch up. Didn’t think twice about leaving his car running before leaving at 7am.
Food van available some nights on the site.
Pleasant Break
This is the third visit to this site. It's well located for visiting the southern lakes and easily accessible from the road network. It's got a good dog walk. Nice views from the site.
The pitches often need levelling blocks so go prepared. The booster system needs a connection cable.
Grange over Sands is a nice place with a long pleasant promenade. It has a Coop and a Tesco Express.
