Lovely peaceful site.

We chose this site as we were picking up our new caravan and needed to find a site open in January. It is a lovely site, why have we not used it before I ask myself? The toilet block was wonderfully warm and clean. When we woke to snow on the day we were leaving the prospect of having to stay another night was met with joy! Unfortunately the snow melted and we had to go home! We will be back very soon.

Meathop Fell during the week

Staying here Sunday to Friday as husband working in Barrow. there have been spells of really cold and very windy weather since Christmas, however the toilets and showers have been lovely and warm. The water has been off occasionally due to the very low temperature at the external points but always available around the toilet block. The duty staff are friendly and doing a good job. The wifi is 100% better than before Christmas which is important for us to keep in touch with family.

Peace and Quiet Ruined!

This is the second New Year we have spent at this lovely site. As others have mentioned the facilities are spotless and the wardens extremely friendly. We had a nice pitch with a view of the estuary and the site itself is usually very peaceful with birds singing! However the members next to us had a very loud TV and even left loud music on in the van when leaving their dogs alone (even though they yapped constantly). We thought when their satellite dish blew over we would have some peace but it got worse as they then put an aerial wire through an open window!! They also thought it was ok to use the grass behind them as a dog toilet! Well it isn't ok!!! RANT OVER! If we'd had another pitch we would have enjoyed our holiday as much as last year as the people we met were also very friendly and the little party on New Years Eve was a nice touch. We will definitely return and certainly eat at the Woodlands Hotel again - beautiful place and great food.

Really Great Quiet Place

Had a relaxing time, wardens where very polite and normal nothing was too much bother and very friendly and welcoming no gestapo here! ;) There is a great hotel with a public bar which is 5 mins walk come out the site and turn left. Steve the manager was very friendly and welcoming. If you want to have dinner there go before 8pm. Bar is very reasonable and so is the food, Dogs welcome in the bar too! We will be going back.

Very peaceful site close to the town

I lovely quiet site close to Grange over sands.  Facilities are nice and clean and wardens are very friendly.  Phone signal can be a bit hit and miss here so be prepared for no internet moody teenagers.... My daughter will kill me for putting this on...LOL

New Year visit

Had visited this site in March 2014 and loved it, and decided to revisit over the New Year. I'm a solo caravanner...me and 2 dogs...and I arrived 3 nights before New Year's eve, then was joined by some friends in their 'van for 4 further nights. It was a very peaceful, relaxing stay. The site is picturesque and well looked after, shower block is spotlessly clean and the wardens are very friendly and helpful...they put on a little 'do' in the afternoon of New Years eve, which was very nice and got us all in party mood! Many staying had pre booked to go to the hotel nearby ( walking distance ) for a buffet and disco...we weren't that organised sadly, but we're already planning to do that this year! So many lovely walks and places to visit nearby, and Grange itself is a lovely town. I love this site, and it's such a great location...my favourite!

Great Place / New Year

Our second winter visit to this site this time over new year and were not disapointed. Great location for exploring the south lakes area. We must come back again when the leaves are on the trees. Lovely to see all the fancy lighting on the vans. Well kept site with exceedingly clean facilities. We shall return.
