Stunning setting

Located down a narrow lane with traffic lights and limited space to check in. People arrived 20 mins early and the warden was very stressed , but difficult to gauge an exact arrival time when you have travelled a long way. Maybe the warden would have been better to open check in early so reduce his stress or suggest to people trying to leave the site to avoid 12, 30 to 1.30pm on a Saturday. Needless to say wardens were not particularly friendly unlike most sites. The kids play area was closed waiting for some equipment so maybe it would have been helpful to have put this on the website. The pitches by the loch were superb with amazing views. The site is in a great location for Fort William, Mallaig etc Across the road was a lovely walk to some waterfalls . The shower block was fine but there is only one block which for the number of pitches could be a problem in the high season.Agsin with the washing up facilities only 3 sinks so frequently had to queue. Would definitely go there again for the views.

Panoramic views, superb site

An excellent site right next to the loch. Walks from the campsite through mountainous valleys, lucky enough to see an eagle. Good, clean facilities. Quiet site. We stayed twice in 2 weeks whilst travelling around Scotland.

Heaven on Earth

What a wonderful site this is. It has a strange approach down a lane with a traffic light. Past a river and on to the site. The views are spectacular over the loch. Nice walks nearby and little ferry over to the other side. Toilets were clean and showers fine. You have to wait to enter so don't go early. Even while you wait we made a cup of tea overlooking the view although I think it puts pressure on the wardens as they didn't look happy. The site was my favourite in Scotland.

Stunning location - Lots to do!

Great site with lovely views of the loch. Front row pitches are rightly reserved for non- awning but lovely views from other pitches too. We had great a great view and could watch ships passing by from the caravan. Facilities usual excellent club standard. Things to do- 1. Catch the train from Fort William to Mallaig. Stunning views over the Glenfinnan viaduct. ( Harry Potter bridge) We caught the ScotRail diesel £20 return with railcard. You could catch the Jacobite steam train for £104 if you prefer the steam train . It’s the same journey and views. Maillaig is small fishing port. 2. Walk towards Inchree across the road from the site. Lovely waterfall about 1 and 1/2 hour return. Great viewpoint over loch. 3. The Corran ferry is a short walk from the site and is free to foot passengers. It drops you right outside a pub. We sailed across 2 evenings, lovely views along the loch. We also went across in the afternoon and did a lovely walk along the shoreline towards the lighthouse. 4. Nice drive around Kinlochleven and Grey Mare waterfall is worth a visit. We found out about some of the above from other people rather than the information room. We didn’t launch our kayak as the water seemed fast gliding but this might not be the case at other times. Fabulous site, we would return.

Our first visit and will be back

This was our first visit to Bunree, the site is nice. There are some nice walks close by and a little pub over the road.

Stunning location

The location of this site is just stunning! We were lucky to have a Loch side pitch with fantastic views but the layout of the site is so good that most pitches seem to have a great view. Facilities were clean and the water hot!

A stunning site!

We are spending a few nights here before moving on to Skye but we could quite happily stay here. The site is in a simply stunning location with almost every pitch having a view of Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond. (Pitches 10,11,12 have a good view of the toilet block and children's play area!). The site is well set out with good size pitches and the Wardens have been very friendly. The front row of pitches are all non-awning so if you want a chance of being on the front rank don't book an awning pitch as the site is very busy and it might not be possible to swap on arrival. It's only a short drive to Fort William where car parking for motorhomes and caravans is easily found and is inexpensive - other towns and cities take note! But the real selling point of this site is the view - simply stunning!

Stunning

We have just returned from a short break at Bunree and I have to say it was well worth the 7 hour journey. Greeted by extremely welcoming wardens who checked us in really quickly. Lovely clean site with facilities you expect from a CAMC site. The pitches are a good size and had the most stunning, breath taking view I have ever seen. There is plenty to do in the area for both walking and non-walking enthusiasts. Make sure you go on the Jacobite steam railway, visit Neptunes Staircase, the mountain cable car and do some Island hopping. Perfect break.
