Quiet site with great scenery

This is a lovely quiet site with amazing views over the loch. We travelled over 4 hours to get to this site, when we arrived it was 12.30 pm so we had a wee walk round the site then sat on the bench outside reception waiting for it to open at 1 o’clock. When the warden came out he accused us of skipping the queue and said I could send you away because you are not allowed to arrive here until 1.00 pm. My husband apologised and said we had a long journey and said we had also had a wee look round the site, to which he then started shouting at us saying this was illegal. We couldn’t believe it. He was such a rude man and very regimental in his attitude. We have been to many other sites and the wardens couldn’t be any nicer to you. We tried not to go near him as we didn’t want it spoiling our holiday, however must say the site has fantastic views and would be a great site for dog lovers.

End to a perfect week.

Had a week away to get some hill and glen walking. The last two nights were spent in Bunree. The loch side pitches exude peace and harmony with nature. In the estuary of the river there was two swans. I spent a relaxing hour and half just watching them preening themselves later I was fortunate to see the two of them sleeping on the water. The welcome I received from the warden was good highland hospitality. Bunree was on a bucket list but I must say it stays there. I will be returning and taking my other half so she can experience the Bunree effect. I would recommend Bunree rain or shine as a haven of peace

Last Stop in Scotland.

This was our last night in Scotland, and the site is great situated right on the Loch side with spectacular views, we were unable to really see the area as we were on our way home, but would certainly consider using the site again and taking in the surrounding areas. The wardens were great and the facilities excellent and a great Dog walk along the Loch Side. Leaving site to travel South took us through Glencoe which is fantastic.

Fantastic site

Wow, just wow. Not only is this site in a fabulous location with phenomenal views, the staff are fantastic. We had an electrical issue on our vehicle and the wardens coudn't have been more helpful, recommending the nearest parts place and checking we were able to obtain them. The ladies on reception were lovely and friendly. We loved paddleboarding on the loch and the fact that there is an offlead dog walking area is a bonus. The site is spotless and the traffic light system is a great idea. We would highly recommed and would return. Thank you.

Amazing Scotland

This is Scotland at its best - a trip north through Glencoe ending up in Onich - perfect! Lovely site although a bit remote once you are settled. We found the walk from the site out to civilisation a bit tedious and not much there once you are out other than a busy road. The site however is perfect and the ideal spot to veg for a week or use as a base for exploring by car. The staff, facilities and views are amazing. If you want a waterside pitch, don’t take your awning!

Loved our stay here, superb location

Bunree site is just stunning, well kept, clean, lovely staff. The majority of the pitches are fairly flat and need little levelling. I will definitely book this site again when I'm in the Highlands.

Stunning setting

Located down a narrow lane with traffic lights and limited space to check in. People arrived 20 mins early and the warden was very stressed , but difficult to gauge an exact arrival time when you have travelled a long way. Maybe the warden would have been better to open check in early so reduce his stress or suggest to people trying to leave the site to avoid 12, 30 to 1.30pm on a Saturday. Needless to say wardens were not particularly friendly unlike most sites. The kids play area was closed waiting for some equipment so maybe it would have been helpful to have put this on the website. The pitches by the loch were superb with amazing views. The site is in a great location for Fort William, Mallaig etc Across the road was a lovely walk to some waterfalls . The shower block was fine but there is only one block which for the number of pitches could be a problem in the high season.Agsin with the washing up facilities only 3 sinks so frequently had to queue. Would definitely go there again for the views.

Panoramic views, superb site

An excellent site right next to the loch. Walks from the campsite through mountainous valleys, lucky enough to see an eagle. Good, clean facilities. Quiet site. We stayed twice in 2 weeks whilst travelling around Scotland.

Heaven on Earth

What a wonderful site this is. It has a strange approach down a lane with a traffic light. Past a river and on to the site. The views are spectacular over the loch. Nice walks nearby and little ferry over to the other side. Toilets were clean and showers fine. You have to wait to enter so don't go early. Even while you wait we made a cup of tea overlooking the view although I think it puts pressure on the wardens as they didn't look happy. The site was my favourite in Scotland.
