Great little campsite, staff are warm and welcoming, the views are stunning, and change as the weather changes. Only been here in autumn but can't wait to come in the warm summer as there is loads of walks nearby. Best site I have been to for wildlife diversity, we saw everything from seals fish and birds of prey! This site is definitely one we as a family will visit again. Very clean, very peaceful, and loads to see, especially the wildlife.
Lovely campsite and great location
Sadly I could only book one night, this is a popular campsite especially at weekends. Lovely welcome, friendly helpful wardens and very clean facilities. Short walk across the golf course to the beach, easy walk to the village with excellent ice cream parlour and nice pub. I will definitely return but book well in advance to get a few nights here.

Peaceful two nights
I feel a little sad writing this review, I really wanted to be wowed by this site as it’s been on our to do list for some time.
Don’t get me wrong the location is beyond beautiful, the views are breathtaking, however for the price paid I would have like many others have said expected better from the facilities they are in dire need of upgrading and unfortunately really let down the site.
Beautiful location, especially in good weather
Lovely site which is very peaceful and has the usual high standard of club facilities. It is lovely when the weather is nice, but clearly less perfect when it's not! The loch side pitches have the best views but are quite exposed to the wind. The free passenger ferry to Corran leads to a lovely walk around the lakes. Another nice place to visit nearby is across the loch from Fort William at Corpach, where there is a pleasant walk along the Caledonian canal which leads to a beach with an atmospheric beached ship with a view across to Ben Nevis. Again you need good weather to really enjoy this.

Stunning location
First time here and enjoyed a warm welcome on arrival. We absolutely loved the location. We were lucky with the weather, so the sunsets and beautiful clear, starry skies were amazing. However, we have to agree with everyone else the toilet block, although kept clean, is in very poor condition and in serious need of an upgrade. Come on Caravan Club, we pay an annual membership fee and a high daily rate considering the facilities. You need to address this!
Sept 2024 review - Bunree
Just spent a few days at Bunree (Onich) site. Have been several times in the past over a few years.
Great location for outdoor enthusiasts and nice and quiet plus handily placed for touring or using as a stage post en route.
I WILL return but think the following should be addressed:-
- shower / toilet blocks getting very tatty and dated with gaffer tape in various places and black mould;
- traffic light system for access in and out the site is frustrating. I think it needs motion sensors so that when it is clear you don't have to hand around polluting the area;
- the very non existent shop is poor. A few essential basics would be appreciated such as bread and milk etc.etc.etc.
- it is ridiculous how some new arrivals speed in to grab lochside pitches at 1pm!
What can you do!
Amazing Location
Had a loch side pitch (no awning) for 5 days. Stunning scenery, the weather was hit and miss across the time we were there, so witnessed sun, wind and heavy rain. Sunset on a nice day though is really nice across the loch. Facilities clean but agree with other comments that a refurbishment of the shower blocks is overdue. Off lead dog walk is handy right by the loch, but we had to be careful of the local swan and her cygnets. Handily placed to visit Fort William & Ben Nevis, Glenfinnan, Glencoe and Oban. A walk to Inchtree Falls is also recommended.
Incredible setting, but slightly outdated facilities
Loved the setting at Bungee, but the toilet and other facilities were quite tatty and old - in need of an update. It was worth the stay, just for the views and the ability to step out of your van almost onto the pebbly beach. A must for beachcombers! Staff were helpful and friendly. Not too many midges either!
Stunning Location but feeling abit let down this time
We've been visiting Bunree multiple times a year for about 4/5 years now. Its set in a stunning location and the views never ever let you down.
This time I felt abit let down with the site overall. As others have commented the toilets are in need of an update, every visit we joke I wonder if they've been done this time. Although they are always very clean they are very tired. Poor ventilation, in the morning they can be very hot and smelly.
My other comment this time are about the site overall, the grass was long, ok we've had some bad weather, but around us was cut while we were there, but it was just literally flattened and still too long and tatty, hardly anything was taken off it. All around the bases of the trees is overgrown with grass, all along the back edge of the site is overgrown and looks a bit tatty.
It wont put us off returning as the views from most pitches on this site are absolutely stunning, but really hoping the club invest some money into this site over the winter before its too late.
