Beautiful location

Fantastic site, with amazing views of the Loch. Very clean site & friendly, helpful staff. Great location if passing through we stopped one night after walks in Glencoe & then went on to Ben Nevis gondola's (30 min drive) & fort William. I think when we come back we'd stay a few nights & use it as a base to explore more of the area. Over all highly recommend as a stop over or a base to explore.

Glorious Location

Read a view bad reviews about this site relating to the facilities and strict approach of the wardens. Must say we've found the wardens to be really friendly and they do a great job of keeping the place spotless. Yes the facilities are a bit dated and could do with a few more toilets but seen a lot worse. The location and beautiful views more than make up for the facilities. Plenty to do in the area to last you weeks.

Perfect!

We stayed here for three nights on a Scotland tour, arriving in beautiful sunshine! Access to the sight is on a traffic light single track, no problems at all. Pitches were level and we were made welcome by the Wardens. Facilities were clean, loved the drying room! Location really is the USP of this site, right on the Loch and in a peaceful spot, driveable to Glen Coe, Fort William, Glen Etive and other local sightseeing spots. Wardens were busy on the site, and very friendly and welcoming. Off-lead dog walking area to one side of the site (most people adhered to this). We really loved this site and we would return for longer if we ever go back to Scotland.

Excellent location, great views, great facilities and great service

My wife and I recently stayed at Bunree for three days. We were welcomed warmly by Jean. She was very helpful, gave us all the information and changed our pitch to be near the toilet on the last day due to my stomach problem. Bunree is an amazing site with beautiful views over the loch. The facilities are great and it is only a 20 minute drive to Fort William where there is a supermarket (Morrisons) and a variety of restaurants. There are walks in the area and it is near Glencoe where you can walk and enjoy the waterfalls. This site is on our list to be back for a longer period. Very highly recommended.

Lovely setting

Visited site again and wasn't disappointed. Lovely location alongside the Loch. Nice quiet site, with walks close by and easy access to surrounding area. Pitched away from Loch shore as it was a bit windy during our visit. Main shopping area is Fort William, approx 20 mins away.

You can't help the weather!!

Superb location as expected, just a shame about the weather. But we didn't let it spoil anything...Roam West is absolutely superb for food BUT you must book. Even on a Tuesday early evening, we saw 7 groups of people turned away + several phone calls which were "sorry". Please note that a/a end of September there is a temporary passenger service running on the Corran ferry, approx 1 mile walk down the road, all free (dogs aswell) , gives you a chance to get to Ardgour and the pub etc but do check what's happening on the day as it's a long diversion otherwise!!!

Beautiful site at the side of a lock

Beautifully positioned at the side of a lock. Ideal for pets. Seals spotted in the lock as it's a sea lock. The facilities were very clean and the wardens very helpful. Really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended

Fabulous location for a relaxing holiday

We stayed at Bunree for a week in September 2023. We got an amazing pitch right on the loch shore that made this location really worth staying at. The site has walks directly from it which was good as we dont like moving our van everyday and when we did move our van there were lots of other walks and places to explore within a short drive. The campsite facilities were clean and perfectly adequate but the showers could do with an update and modernisation. The staff were polite and friendly and kept the site exceptionally clean and tidy. There was a fish van that came round too! We had a very enjoyable stay and will be returning to explore the area further soon.

Excellent campsite

Unfortunately we only stayed here one night as were put off by previous reviews. Wish we had ignored them, the facilities were fine, large toilet/shower blocks which were large clean, bright and warm with oodles of hot water. There was a drying room which was useful as we had rain, which didn’t dampen our spirits. The walk to the waterfalls was amazing and the nearby pub/restaurant was friendly and welcoming. The views from the large pitches across the loch were incredible. We would have loved to stay a few more days but we’re on our way home from the NC500 and had to get home but what a lovely end to our adventure.
