So Welcoming.

Well, it has already been praised by dozens of happy C&MH members. All starts with such a warm and welcoming arrival and gets better from there onwards. If there is a Best Host & Hostess Award too, then they must be winners.

Excellent as always

This was our 4th visit since Louise and Greg took over the CL in 2015. It had already been voted CL of the year in 2014 and since then it just gets better and better! I can honestly say that in 10 years of caravanning and staying almost exclusively on CL’s that this is the one for everyone else to aspire to. Fully serviced pitches, beautifully kept grounds and service over and above anything else that we have seen. Stay here you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing CL site!

We have just returned from a fabulous week on this amazing CL Site. The spacious pitches are fully serviced. The toilet/ shower facilities are spotless. We love the new addition of the laundry and washing up area as well as the dog shower for our four legged friends! The whole site is immaculate and very peaceful. It is very dog friendly and we chose this site initially because they will accept 4 dogs- our dogs love it because there is a spacious designated area where the dogs can have a run off lead, and also because they get doggy treats on arrival! Lou and Greg are brilliant hosts and have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. There is also the option to order Lou’s home cooked meals that are delivered to your pitch if you don’t fancy cooking! I highly recommend the Sunday roast! It was also much appreciated that their son Harvey came round with ice creams on one of the hot days! Overall this is a fantastic site, and we appreciate the hard work that Greg and Lou have put in to make it like this. Can’t wait to go back next year!

The is the CL everyone needs to aspire to

What can I say. This is the most amazing CL we have visited in all our years of caravanning. I can't actually think of anything else it needs. If your preference is for a roughly cut field with a water tap and disposal point, then this isn't the site for you. The pitches are nice gravel and immaculate with water, waste and EHU. There is a BATHROOM - a real bathroom! With shower, basin, loo, toiletries, radio - shall I go on? Lovely. And a separate loo, and a wishy washy laundrette/information room/little shop/home made food in freezer. All on an honesty box. And there's a dog walk AND a dog washing point. Not just a washing point - a luxury washing point complete with dryer. Honestly, this place is absolutely amazing. Our friends joined us and we barely left the site - the peace and quiet is wonderful and there is a distant trickle from the stream. There is a lovely (sloping) dog walk (there are some bee hives, albeit fenced off. As a former beekeeper, I can tell you they are very placid bees and won't bother you). We walked a few metres down the road to the Tamar where we saw the kingfisher and our dogs had a paddle. It's a bit muddy. And we wandered around the lanes and chatted to some lovely locals and we just ate and drank and had the most brilliant time. AND - Louise will cook for you. We were excited to have our Sunday dinner ordered for our day of arrival. A word of advice - watch what you eat that day because the portions are absolutely huge! And very delicious. Greg and Louise and Harvey (their son) are around and chat and you just feel like very special guests. One hot day, young Harvey trotted round with ice creams for us. It was Jubilee weekend - and we blooming missed the evening BBQ as we had to go home. Drat because it would have been great. But we did have our photo taken with Her Maj (ha ha ha!) on the bench and we had a lovely bottle of fizzy to take home. Truly what is not to like. The only thing to say is just do exactly what you are told re arrival and departure time. The lane is narrow. Trust me, you do not want to come face to face with another caravan (which you won't if everyone does as they are told!) But we managed perfectly well. Thank you so much Greg and Louise. What a fabulous stay.

First class cl

Just had a glorious visit to Poole Farm and can't speak highly enough of the owners, and the site Top quality, spotless facilities with extras, and the friendliest welcome from Greg, Louise and Harvey (who brought us ice creams!). Our short stay included a complimentaryh home baked cream tea, and as it was the Jubilee celebrations, we were treated to a lovely, and unexpected, bottle of bubbly! We sadly missed the barbecue Greg and Louise were running for the site guests as we had to leave. lovely site, lovely people - we shall return! Thanks, Maureen and Roger.

Long waited for return

Just returned from our second visit to Poole Farm CL - first visit we happened upon site by chance but this visit has been looked for a long time and looked forward to for a longggggg time! Our stay was everything we could have wished for and more - we had sampled Louise’s breakfasts on our previous visit but were delighted to find out that she is now providing evening meals as well - all beautifully cooked and delivered piping hot to our caravan - the bliss of arriving Sunday afternoon, Greg helping us to set up (my husband has mobility issues), cup of tea brought by Louise, then Harvey delivering ice creams and capped off by delicious Sunday roast - perfection. Site is quiet, well maintained, excellent facilities - toilet, shower, washing up area, laundry facilities, information room and, canine visitors well catered for too. We visited a large number of National Trust properties that are within easy driving distance of the site and also relaxed and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the site. One word of caution though - once you have visited you will want to return.

Everything a CL should be and more !!

Absolutely fabulous CL, quiet and relaxing location in beautifully maintained grounds. Large, fully serviced pitches and a small meadow dog walking field with a swing seat. The 2 toilets and 1 shower were spotless and had a variety of free toiletries if needed, along with a dog shower and hair dryer. Another cabin housed a washing machine and tumble dryer along with a fridge for fresh milk and eggs and a freezer containing yummy homemade meals. Lou and Greg were the perfect Hosts, very friendly and helpful and the complimentary cream teas, homemade cakes and ice creams whilst sitting out in the sun made the whole visit exceptional. Homemade meals, breakfasts and Sunday lunches could also be delivered to your van if you didn’t feel like cooking. Would recommend to anyone 100%

Outstanding

Fantastic CL site with friendly owners who surprise you with their attention to detail. We had 2 evening meals which were so generous we kept some leftovers for the following day. They were not expensive and we would definitely recommend trying them. The site is well organised and caravans spaced well apart. The facilities are unusual for a small CL sitewith free Wifi, washing machine, tumble dryer etc (for a small fee), shower room, homemade chutneys and jams available, free cream tea. It just goes on and on! Not surprising how busy Greg and Louise are keeping everyone so well looked after. They deserve their award. We found Crackington Haven a lovely spot to visit.

Friendly luxury!

Louise, a one-time chef, and Greg make an ideal combination to provide campers with all the necessary and a bit extra. Louise provides a range of delicious foods...bakes, roast dinner delivered to your door, and a variety of other meals. Greg was very supportive when I arrived as I was in a new van which was more complicated than my previous van. He spent time helping me work out what was what and also parking!!! I was near the facilities which now include a washing machine and mini kitchen, as well as showers and loo, I loved that we were right by the River Tamar, the border between Cornwall and Devon...a magical, liminal place. Thank you both. Jane x
