Long waited for return

Just returned from our second visit to Poole Farm CL - first visit we happened upon site by chance but this visit has been looked for a long time and looked forward to for a longggggg time! Our stay was everything we could have wished for and more - we had sampled Louise’s breakfasts on our previous visit but were delighted to find out that she is now providing evening meals as well - all beautifully cooked and delivered piping hot to our caravan - the bliss of arriving Sunday afternoon, Greg helping us to set up (my husband has mobility issues), cup of tea brought by Louise, then Harvey delivering ice creams and capped off by delicious Sunday roast - perfection. Site is quiet, well maintained, excellent facilities - toilet, shower, washing up area, laundry facilities, information room and, canine visitors well catered for too. We visited a large number of National Trust properties that are within easy driving distance of the site and also relaxed and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the site. One word of caution though - once you have visited you will want to return.

Everything a CL should be and more !!

Absolutely fabulous CL, quiet and relaxing location in beautifully maintained grounds. Large, fully serviced pitches and a small meadow dog walking field with a swing seat. The 2 toilets and 1 shower were spotless and had a variety of free toiletries if needed, along with a dog shower and hair dryer. Another cabin housed a washing machine and tumble dryer along with a fridge for fresh milk and eggs and a freezer containing yummy homemade meals. Lou and Greg were the perfect Hosts, very friendly and helpful and the complimentary cream teas, homemade cakes and ice creams whilst sitting out in the sun made the whole visit exceptional. Homemade meals, breakfasts and Sunday lunches could also be delivered to your van if you didn’t feel like cooking. Would recommend to anyone 100%

Outstanding

Fantastic CL site with friendly owners who surprise you with their attention to detail. We had 2 evening meals which were so generous we kept some leftovers for the following day. They were not expensive and we would definitely recommend trying them. The site is well organised and caravans spaced well apart. The facilities are unusual for a small CL sitewith free Wifi, washing machine, tumble dryer etc (for a small fee), shower room, homemade chutneys and jams available, free cream tea. It just goes on and on! Not surprising how busy Greg and Louise are keeping everyone so well looked after. They deserve their award. We found Crackington Haven a lovely spot to visit.

Friendly luxury!

Louise, a one-time chef, and Greg make an ideal combination to provide campers with all the necessary and a bit extra. Louise provides a range of delicious foods...bakes, roast dinner delivered to your door, and a variety of other meals. Greg was very supportive when I arrived as I was in a new van which was more complicated than my previous van. He spent time helping me work out what was what and also parking!!! I was near the facilities which now include a washing machine and mini kitchen, as well as showers and loo, I loved that we were right by the River Tamar, the border between Cornwall and Devon...a magical, liminal place. Thank you both. Jane x

Holiday Bliss

What an amazing place to be - peace and tranquility with a cup of tea on arrival and a complimentary cream tea at your leisure. Lou and Gregg cannot do enough to be helpful and kind in every respect which these days is quite something! There was even bird food on our pitch. Being foodies it was a tremendous bonus to find that a menu was available with breakfast and evening meals ordered in advance, available most days and delivered to your door and at very reasonable prices. The food was absolutely great and far better than you get at most pubs! Sunday lunch was available and what a treat that was especially as we never cook roasts at home! To put ‘the icing on the cake’ Easter Sunday morning we were really surprised by Lou & Co dressed as rabbits delivering tulips and daffodils AND an Easter Egg. What a wonderful kind thought. Our little dog Cha Cha enjoyed the dog area and especially the huge biscuit which lasted her the whole stay (she is very tiny). Thank you Lou and Gregg for all your hard work and we will be back and next time will make it to Bude Beach.

April 2022

2nd time out with our camper van - this is a tranquil piece of Devon very close to the border with Cornwall with a well designed layout. Lou and Greg take great care of their site and continue to enhance it ensuring that their clientele experience a truly lovely break. We would definitely stay again as there is so much to experience in the area with the coast being a sensible 45 minute drive and some interesting NT properties and beaches.

Top class CL

This is a beautiful site in a fabulous location. Greg and Lou are exceptional hosts and work tirelessly to maintain such high standards. Easy to book and good communication prior to arrival. Large fully serviced hard-standing pitches, with lots of space. “The Hut” was very clean with a good sized shower and plenty of hot water. The additional new toilet and hut with washing machine was being installed whilst we were there but disruptions were minimal. A new dog shower is now available for our muddy four legged friends. The enclosed dog walk was lovely for our dog to be off lead and have a potter round. Good location for access to the coast. Meals are available if you wish, prepared and cooked by Lou and delivered to your door. We were blessed with good weather and had an absolutely fabulous 10 days. Needless to say we will return - as often as we can.

top notch! pitch perfect in every sense of the word!!

We have been fortunate enough to have stayed 11 nights at this super site, after being welcomed by Greg and Louise . who continued to be perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble, we took advantage of having a meal or two provided by louise, and delivered to our door by Greg! which was delightful. It was a perfect area to be in for days out in all directions a real treat for the soul, so beautiful up on the moors, or by the sea. wewill be looking forward to going back as soon as were able. highly recommend this lovely site to anyone looking for tranquility in the countryside.
