We have had to be prised away from staying at Poole Farm! We really could have just stayed...and stayed...
We loved every minute there, from the super warm welcome to the bliss of peace and quiet.
It's an extremely well kept site with lovely touches; Louise's home-made meals and preserves (We took more marmalade with us it was so good!).
Both Greg and Louise are on hand should you need anything and nothing is too much trouble.
They utterly deserve their title of Best CL Site.
Thank you both so much for such a smashing experience.
We stayed at Poole Farm over Christmas and what a lovely stay it was. Greg & Louise are great hosts and they look after everyone with great care and attention nothing is to much trouble.
We can see why they have won so many rewards as the site is very clean and organized. Food was fantastic and the best lasagne we have tasted. Christmas dinner was great to. All we can say that they do deserve it, so much so that we have already booked for this year.

Stayed at Pool Farm CL over Christmas & New Year 2021/2 and what a great site this is. Very caring owners who go far beyond the call of duty to ensure your stay is ideal. Complimentary tea on arrival with very informative site advice.
Wi-Fi is available and ideal; serviced pitch except for grey waste which is being installed in JAN 2022 as I write this review. Very nice dog walk and bearing in mind we visited in winter this site will be a picture during the summer.
Owners Greg & Lou are so very dedicated and caring in their endeavour to ensure their guest enjoy their stay to the full.
Lou is a qualified chef and cooks for anyone on-site who wants it. We enjoyed a wonderful three course Christmas Dinner with wine, all very reasonably priced and delivered, course by course, to our caravan. The same on Christmas Eve and on other occasions. Oh, I nearly forgot the wonderful Afternoon Tea ordered for my wife's birthday.
Easy access to many areas and beaches in Devon and Cornwall suffice to say we booked our pitch for next Christmas and New Year, there and then!
We spent a week at Poole Farm over Christmas and cannot rate it highly enough. Beautiful site, stunning location, fabulous facilities and Greg and Lou are the best hosts. Lou is also an exceptional chef. We opted to have Christmas lunch and what an absolutely fantastic lunch it was served to our Motorhome by Greg in the most appalling weather!! The complimentary cream tea and minced pies and mulled wine and Christmas Eve were a really lovely touch and the Pizzas we ordered one evening were delicious. We have already booked for Christmas 2021 and can’t wait to return. Very well deserved winners of CL of the Year, we’ll be voting for them again as soon as voting opens.
We've just spent a fantastic three nights at Poole Farm, the perfect way to relax after a busy Christmas. We so enjoyed the peace and quiet, the picturesque countryside and the lovely walks and cycle rides from the site. With the coast and Dartmoor not far way there's so much to see and do in the area. Everything on site was spotlessly clean and tidy and the information hut and shower room was a welcome addition. Most of all we enjoyed Lou's delicious home cooked meals delivered to our van by Greg. What a treat! Thank you both for all your hard work in making our stay so pleasurable. We hope to return before too long.
We have just returned from a fantastic stay over the New Year. Poole Farm is without doubt a 5 star site with Greg and Lou working hard to provide a truly unique experience, from the welcome bottle of fizz on arrival followed up by a cream tea and then the New Year’s Day evening meal served to our caravan all truly wonderful. This hardworking couple are setting a new standard for any site to aspire too.
From the moment we arrived, it was quite evident why this CL had been voted 'CL of the year'. Situated along a quiet lane in rolling countryside with the River Tamar not far away. This is a beautifully maintained CL with large, level hard standing pitches - something we were particularly grateful for as the weather was not brilliant during our stay. The pitch fee includes 10 units of electricity per night - after that it is charged at 23p per unit - a pricing structure that we thought to be very fair and with the increase in energy costs, a model that I think other CL owners will follow. Great dog walk on the site but there is also plenty of walking straight from the CL along quiet lanes. The best bit about this site must be the owners - Greg and Louise - who go out of their way to ensure that your stay with them is enjoyable. My only recommendation would be to turn the bathroom scales back about ten pounds before arriving!!! Cream teas, evening meals with delicious puddings, Sunday lunches and full English breakfasts are all available - fabulously prepared by Louise and delivered to your pitch - all highly recommended (the diet starts tomorrow). Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.
We stayed for just one night, not having been out and about in our camper for a while due to something called covid. What a fantastic, peaceful and well-maintained site this is! We were greeted by Greg on our arrival who told us everything we needed to know and handed us a mightily impressive Welcome Pack, which even included a biscuit for our dog (which was gone in seconds once he got hold of it). Louise later introduced herself, it was lovely to meet both of the site owners. The site itself is quiet and has a stream running through it and is adjacent to the river Tamar both of which provide a relaxing ambience. The dog walk area was appreciated by our dog, Jimmy, and we explored one or two lanes outside the site. The site provides a multitude of catering options, and we were glad to have taken advantage of the full English breakfast before we left – it was plentiful and delicious. It was also delivered to us! Our neighbouring guests told us they had the breakfast and were having the Sunday lunch too – where would they find the room?!
All in all, this was a relaxing and enjoyable quick break away for us and we definitely plan to return for longer in the new year. The only downside was the weather which was a bit damp and miserable at times, but I guess the site owners can’t control everything! To summarise – highly recommended and very impressive.
We have just arrived home after spending three nights on Louise and Greg’s site. Wow, it couldn’t be better, lovely people who put themselves out to help and absolutely everything is thought of and site is immaculate. Evening meals and breakfasts served to your motorhome or caravan, if required, and all absolutely delicious!! We have already booked out next stay in May and we’re really looking forward to it.
This was our second visit to this lovely site. I am not surprised it has won CL of the Year, congratulations. Arrival is easy but follow the sites directions. Pitches are level and serviced apart from grey water, which can be a bit tricky to lift over lip of disposal area. The hut is warm well stocked and very clean , lovely showers. Even a radio in the hut! The dog field is ample in size and cut paths for walking with fabulous views and a swing seat to sit and think ! However what really makes this special is the care and attention you receive from Greg and Louise. Attention to detail is second to none, from arrival packs , to ease of booking, dog biscuits, cakes , cream teas the list goes on. They manage this without being intrusive .The icing on the cake this year is the hot home cooked meals, delivered to your caravan. The Sunday roast was sublime, as was the weekday evening meal. Thank you for making the site so special and for all the care and attention giving to your guests. Hope to be able to return .
