The perfect CL

Lou and Greg are perfect hosts and seem to have considered every possible aspect of running a CL and giving their guests the best possible experience. We don't usually revisit sites - there are far too many waiting to be discovered - but this was our third time at Poole Farm and we will definitely be back again. Immaculate pitches and facilities together with the warmest of welcomes from Greg and Lou, the lovely shower/loo/information hut complete with maps, laminated local walk cards and homemade jams/chutneys etc available to buy, all combine to make this the ideal CL for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. Can't praise it highly enough.

An Amazing Site

We have recently spent five days at this wonderful site. Greg and Lou go out of their way to give you a wonderful holiday experience and nothing is too much trouble. The site is immaculate and the pitches spacious with all services to hand on the pitch. Lou is a talented cook and we particularly enjoyed the cream tea and Sunday roast. Lou even supplied a vegetarian meal for me which was delicious. There is so much to do and see in the area and we're looking forward to booking our next visit on this very popular site.

The best CL anywhere - in every single way

Lou and Greg are just amazing, as is there wonderful site. They can’t do enough for you and are incredibly helpful, professional, kind and considerate. I have seen the way in which they go out of their way to help anyone who has any problems. Lou’s cooking is exceptional and I would rather eat one of Lou’s roast dinners than dine anywhere else. The pizzas are also great as is the full english breakfast. On arrival we are provided with an incredibly warm welcome and tea and biscuits. And does it stop there, no ..... we had a delicious ginger cake delivered to us as well. The site itself is immaculate and very clean. Always well maintained as are the facilities. I just can’t get over how good it is. We love the place. Just come back from Poole farm and going back in September. Also have to book up for 2022 if we can get in! Thanks again Lou and Greg for everything.

why can't all sites be like this

As my title says, why can't all sites be like this, wonderful site, great location, lovely welcome with tea/coffee on arrival and even a cream tea during our stay, if only all sites could give their guests this experience.

Simply A Most Delightful CL Site

We were fortunate enough to stay here immediately after lockdown and we couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. The site is beautifully maintained, loved and cared for by owners, Greg and Louise. It is a perfect base for exploring both north and south coasts and areas in between which suited us down to the ground. It is a cliche, but this really is a gem of a site and one that we would highly recommend to all. If you only visit this site just once, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic stay

What a great place Poole farm is. Beautifully maintained, fantastic welcome from Greg and Louise, lots of lovely extra touches. The complimentary cream tea was lovely after a days walking. Good location for lovely walks along quiet lanes and footpaths. Very good, immaculately kept dog run. Great opportunity for bird watching and peaceful evenings in lovely surroundings. Wished we could stay longer but we will be back!

A fantastic CL with great owners

Stayed at Poole Farm over Christmas this year (should have included New Year but covid lockdowns meant sadly, we had to leave early). However, this CL is excellent and a credit to owners Greg & Louise. There are 5 large hardstanding pitches with EHU and water supply. Bins on each pitch. A very clean shower block, excellent covid protection on each pitch and around all communal facilities. There is a secure dog field on site where you can safely let your dogs off their leads. We were given a warm welcome by Greg who presented us with a hamper of home made chutney, jam & pickles, wine & chocolates and even a couple of treats for the dogs. We were also given a clotted cream tea the next day, home made shortbread biscuits and mince pies and mulled wine on Christmas Eve. We were offered a three course Christmas Dinner (extra cost) which we booked, it was delivered to our van at lunchtime, and it was absolutely delicious. They also had a breakfast menu which we didn't sample but wished we had. The location is easily accessible down a long, single track country lane off the main road from Launceston. Don't follow your sat nav from the A30 though or you will end up in the town centre negotiating some very tight corners and narrow roads. You will get info from Greg & Louise advising of your best approach so make sure you follow it. If you are staying in your caravan with transport there is so much to do within a short drive with Launceston just 10 minutes and the north Cornwall coast about 40 minutes. If you are travelling by motor home, you would need advice on where to get public transport to get around. We would highly recommend this CL.

Great attention to detail

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Poole Farm. We received a lovely welcome from Greg and the cup of tea made awning erection a much more relaxed affair! The site is beautifully maintained and the pitches are spacious. Covid security is taken seriously but in a practical and reassuring manner. Breakfast was excellent and a real treat, as was a cream tea and cake (“because it was Saturday”!!!). Thank you Louise and Greg for a lovely stay.

Bordering on perfect camping

Our recent stay at Poole Farm's campsite was a real success for us. The hardstanding was perfect for our motorhome, and communucation was excellent from the time of booking right up to our departure. We were welcomed with a cream tea, and ordered breakfast on two mornings which was delivered to our pitch - luxury! The information on local walks was very informative, and allowed us to enjoy days without driving although we also enjoyed days out during our stay. Louise and Greg were charming hosts, and could not have been more helpful. Poole Farm is open year round, and we are already looking forward to our next stay in this outstanding location in the not too distant future.

Pitch perfect

We have just finished 6 nights at Poole Farm in our large motorhome. No issues with access. It’s a brilliant CL, so well laid out and maintained. The shower and toilet facility was spotless. WiFi is really fast. Loved the adjacent dog walking field with the swing chair at the top. As for the complementary cream tea and all the treats, yum! Greg and Louise are just fantastic hosts and no surprise the site is so popular. We were very lucky and got a last minute cancellation, but may go back again out of season as each pitch has hard standing so it’s an all year round site. Great base for touring both Cornwall and Devon. Happy to give it the highest recommendation.
