Holiday Bliss

What an amazing place to be - peace and tranquility with a cup of tea on arrival and a complimentary cream tea at your leisure. Lou and Gregg cannot do enough to be helpful and kind in every respect which these days is quite something! There was even bird food on our pitch. Being foodies it was a tremendous bonus to find that a menu was available with breakfast and evening meals ordered in advance, available most days and delivered to your door and at very reasonable prices. The food was absolutely great and far better than you get at most pubs! Sunday lunch was available and what a treat that was especially as we never cook roasts at home! To put ‘the icing on the cake’ Easter Sunday morning we were really surprised by Lou & Co dressed as rabbits delivering tulips and daffodils AND an Easter Egg. What a wonderful kind thought. Our little dog Cha Cha enjoyed the dog area and especially the huge biscuit which lasted her the whole stay (she is very tiny). Thank you Lou and Gregg for all your hard work and we will be back and next time will make it to Bude Beach.

April 2022

2nd time out with our camper van - this is a tranquil piece of Devon very close to the border with Cornwall with a well designed layout. Lou and Greg take great care of their site and continue to enhance it ensuring that their clientele experience a truly lovely break. We would definitely stay again as there is so much to experience in the area with the coast being a sensible 45 minute drive and some interesting NT properties and beaches.

Top class CL

This is a beautiful site in a fabulous location. Greg and Lou are exceptional hosts and work tirelessly to maintain such high standards. Easy to book and good communication prior to arrival. Large fully serviced hard-standing pitches, with lots of space. “The Hut” was very clean with a good sized shower and plenty of hot water. The additional new toilet and hut with washing machine was being installed whilst we were there but disruptions were minimal. A new dog shower is now available for our muddy four legged friends. The enclosed dog walk was lovely for our dog to be off lead and have a potter round. Good location for access to the coast. Meals are available if you wish, prepared and cooked by Lou and delivered to your door. We were blessed with good weather and had an absolutely fabulous 10 days. Needless to say we will return - as often as we can.

top notch! pitch perfect in every sense of the word!!

We have been fortunate enough to have stayed 11 nights at this super site, after being welcomed by Greg and Louise . who continued to be perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble, we took advantage of having a meal or two provided by louise, and delivered to our door by Greg! which was delightful. It was a perfect area to be in for days out in all directions a real treat for the soul, so beautiful up on the moors, or by the sea. wewill be looking forward to going back as soon as were able. highly recommend this lovely site to anyone looking for tranquility in the countryside.

Cream of the Crop

We have stayed twice now, the first being for 7 nights over new year where we indulged in dinner each night and breakfast on 2 mornings cooked by Louise and delivered piping hot to the van by Greg. Such a treat! Each time there has been a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. In 3 short months since our first visit there is now grey waste to each pitch, making them truly fully serviced. Also a new ‘hut’ with washing machine and tumble drier. Dog owners will be over the moon to find a dog shower complete with hair dryer nestled between both huts! Nothing is left to chance at Poole Farm. It is outstanding in every way. Greg & Louise work tirelessly to keep it that way. There is good reason why they won CL of the year 2021. We’ve just voted for them to ensure that accolade is repeated in 2022. The only downside being so many of us love it there it is becoming harder to get dates you want!

First class site, first class owners, highly recommended

This was our second visit (after a gap of around 6 years!) and this site is now better than ever!! Each pitch now has grey waste in addition to fresh water. All pitches are of a good size. The 'hut' now has an additional separate loo alongside the shower and loo originally available. A second hut has also been built alongside the original providing wash up facilities and laundry. Breakfasts and dinners are also available 5 days a week delivered to your Caravan - we had a superb Boeuf Bourguignon one evening. We were offered a cup of tea on arrival (just like 6 years ago!) and were also given delicious scones (best we've had for some time) with cream and homemade jam. Greg and Lou are still the perfect hosts that they were 6 years ago!!

Exceptional welcome, and excellent meals delivered to your van.

Once we had arrived and sorted our van out on the pitch, Greg presented us with two home baked scones, jam and clotted cream! Amazing! We stayed 4 nights, and bought a full English breakfast one morning, pizza one evening, and coq au vin and chilli con carne, and home made desserts another evening, all cooked by Louise. All food was prepared to a very high standard and piping hot. There were another couple of delightful touches because we happened to be there on their sons birthday, and also Mothering Sunday. The site was clean and well manicured, obviously a cherished occupation and business! Altogether a very nice experience!

Top notch CL

A very well presented site and warm, friendly welcome. Plenty of walks around the quiet lanes direct from the site, cross the nearby Tamar river to walk from Devon into Cornwall. We didn't sample the food other than ordering delicious croissants to be delivered to the van each morning. The Hut bathroom facility is exceptionally clean and well equipped but does present the problem of the shower and toilet being in the same room, meaning both are out of use when one is being used. However it seems this is being addressed with a new 'hut' being constructed that will offer a separate WC as well as laundry facilities. A certain amount of electricity is included in the pitch fee but any excess, measured by a meter, is billed to you at the end of the stay. We didn't have any extra to pay but any heavy users may find they owe a bit at the end. This seems a fair way of addressing the soaring energy prices. A joy to discover a CL that allows you to check online availability and then complete the booking and payments, all online. So much easier than trying to get hold of a busy farmer on the phone or wait for an e-mail to be returned.
