little gem

Arrived about 8pm after getting caught up in traffic,Greg and Louise were out,and a friend showed us to our pitch. She presented us with a really nice welcome card, and information pack telling us all about poole farm. Our pitch was down at the bottom of the site, next to the hut.It was a very spacious pitch, with lots of grassed areas around it,and the sound of the river behind made for a very relaxing space.Everything about Poole farm was as good as all the previous reviews had suggested. The whole site is immaculate, and Greg and Louise work very hard to keep it that way.Nothing is too much trouble ,from dropping off a morning paper to a lovely cream tea,and home made cakes. The hut which houses a shower room most homes would be proud of was spotless .The hut also doubles as a small information room, with local eggs and homemade jams and chutneys. Our two dogs enjoyed the welcome bonios and love running about in the dog exercise paddock. The surrounding area has plenty to do and see,we live in west Cornwall, but found lots of places unknown to us.Cant wait to come back for some more R&R and to explore the surrounding area further.

Wow!!!!

What an amazing site and fabulous people running it. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival by Louise and shown around the facilities, and our two dogs had a little welcome pack.As we were setting up a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit was delivered by Greg. Once we were settled Louise brought us a lovely cream tea with delicious home made scones. Nothing is too much trouble for Louise and Greg, they recommended a garage to sort out a problem with our car and even offered to cook dinner for us when I had an allergic reaction to an insect bite I got when out one day. After a rainy day Greg arrived at our door with a chocolate cake Louise had made to cheer us up! (Very delicious it was too) The site is very well set up and maintained and the shower hut is well equipped. Having a water tap on the pitch also makes things that bit easier. I cannot praise this CL enough, by far the best I have stayed on. Well done Louise and Greg.

This CL is all that's been previously written about it and more. The best welcome we've had on any site, with tea/coffee followed by cream tea when set up. The facilities are second to none, with everything you could want. A lot of hard work has gone into making this site what it is today, with attention to detail showing everywhere you look. The "Full English" breakfast is in a class of it's own. Absolutely brilliant!! Great site, lovely owners, what more can you want? We'll be back. Wandering will.

Outstanding welcome and quality

This site is well kept, clean and with so much attention to detail that it is hard to imagine how it could be improved. Louise was so welcoming and as other reviewers have reported, a complimentary cream tea with home baked scones arrived at our campervan after we had settled in. A wonderful and appropriate welcome to our visit to Cornwall, even though the site itself is just over the border in Devon. Still, we had the choice of putting the cream or jam on first (chose to try both ways - both equally delicious!). Toilet, shower block is charming, clean and as good as a 5 star hotel. Complimentary toiletries, local information etc. all available. As it was my birthday the next day we chose to order a cooked breakfast to be delivered to our van. Greg delivered a really good breakfast - a real birthday treat at the start of a great holiday. As Greg works in IT, the wi-fi facilities on site were excellent. Very relaxing to sit on the swing seat at the top of dog walking field from where we spotted over 10 species of birds within 10 minutes. Sadly no kingfishers on this occasion nor did we spot any otters at 5.0 a.m. but it is very rare to see these elusive creatures and it was exciting to know that they have been spotted along the stream that flows through the site. Our hosts were welcoming and solicitous without being intrusive. Only drawback to site is lack of public footpaths in the immediate vicinity of the site, a useful feature when in a campervan to avoid having to pack up each day. Perhaps need to bring bikes next time. Certainly the best CL I have ever visited.

Wonderful holiday

Poole Farm CL is just about as good as it gets! We spent ten days there in May/June 2017 and enjoyed the most restful holiday we've had for years. The setting is idyllic , beautiful views and some lovely walks from the site including a short stroll down to the pretty river Tamar . The owners, Louise and Greg have worked very hard to make the site and all the facilities well worth the 5star ratings. Best of all is the lovely way they welcome you and look after everyone, including the dogs. Nothing was too much trouble, they even brought round complimentary ice creams in the hot weather! Well done Louise and Greg! You have created a fantastic CL.
