This is part of a reply from the Southern Region Manager after I put forward an Official Complaint after my booking was cancelled hours before departing for a break away with friends. I had booked way in advance, before other on site, yet I was cancelled!

Please accept my apologies for any miscommunication of this fact at the time and for the lack of compassion demonstrated however this cancellation was beyond our direct control and as previously advised on our Club Together Forum, cancellations are made on a ‘last booked, first cancelled’ basis. Further consideration is also given to duration of stay and the knock-on effect of surrounding bookings whilst seeking the least disruptive approach toward maintaining full site occupancy, for the benefit of the wider membership, whilst affecting as few individual members as possible.

so, due to the fact I was booked for 4 nights and travel Solo I was denied a holiday.  This is descrimination!

I will think twice about posting on here in future. I did realise that you could be suspended from the CT part of the web but have only just realised that it would be all of the CC pages, including being able to book etc. I know that I have never written anything nasty about another member on here, but I, like many others, have been critical of the CC at times. Now not sure what I can and cannot say. All of this does seem like a gagging thing by the CC, they want a forum but only if we all talk about caravan mechanical problems or 'what we have done today' or if we all agree with everything they do. Don't think I will bother much on here in future. Can see now why so many originals have stopped posting.

DEBSC

No member of this forum need fear suspension of their account if they abide by the T&C's and Guidelines of the Forum. There is also no issue with robust debate on subjects that question the running of the Caravan Club, if that had been the reality dozens, if not hundreds, of people would have been suspended by now!!! The problem occurs when people make it personal  either to other members of the forum or to Club officials and start bandying comments around that verge of outright rudness and character assassination of individuals. People who result to such tactics immediately lose the argument anyway so a more intelligent approach is often much more productive.

Clearly if an individual is suspended that is a matter between them and the Club not something to be discussed on the forum.

David

Write your comments here...Thank you, David. That is precisely my understanding of what has happened.

Did the CC staff who decided to cancel Viv's booking receive a suspension for going against the t&c's.

Malcolm, you are stepping along the same path that you are accusing Vivien of. No one but Vivien & the CC know the full facts, your continuing maligning of Vivien could see sanctions against you. Plus I'm not convinced the rest of the Forum users want to read your diatribes.

With You there R2B there are only two parties that know what happened and neither can now comment, so any debate is pure conjecture and not worth the effort

It should still be "last in, first out" as that is the only equitable way. Anything else is discriminatory.

Write your comments here...I doubt that the club intended to discriminate against any one particular individual, CY. If anything, they have acted in favour of vivien by giving her three free site night vouchers. So why can't she appreciate their kind gesture instead of trying to create disharmony and fear amongst other members by saying their bookings are not safe and continuing to maintain such a theme when the club have probably gone overboard in trying to appease her.

Surely this is a sign of guilt on the part of the club?

Write your comments here...I don't think so, NTH. It is not a sign of guilt. It's a gesture of goodwill.

Write your comments here... It has nothing to do with diatribes, R2B. It is to do with my concern that an individual member of staff has been named and villified to such an extent that it has become a fear to attend work, because of the risk of further abusive attacks. Such vicious attacks can cause illness, anxiety depression and other such health problems and I don't want to see that happen to anyone, including myself.

And Malcolm is that not exactly what you have just done with the following that you posted?  (especially as she can no longer respond)

The problem with vivien is that she doesn't mince her words. She says what she wants to say regardless. She doesn't consider that making a personal attack against someone might cause that person distress.

As I understand it, the forum is supposed to be a pleasant place, not a place for personal attacks against others. How would you feel, R2B, if it was you that was being personally attacked in that way?

Malcolm, you obviously don't know me at all, it means nothing to me. I am quite capable of sorting my life out-including invective-both real & online. I hope you know the member of staff that has been attacked verbally & they have told you they fear coming to work. if not you are spreading rumour. You have no intention of listening to friendly advice, your choice.

Malcolm, once again I find I need to break my usual habit of defending you. You are going over the top here. If you want to reach gold I suggest you cool it.

I'll say yet again that none of us know the full story.
