This is part of a reply from the Southern Region Manager after I put forward an Official Complaint after my booking was cancelled hours before departing for a break away with friends. I had booked way in advance, before other on site, yet I was cancelled!

Please accept my apologies for any miscommunication of this fact at the time and for the lack of compassion demonstrated however this cancellation was beyond our direct control and as previously advised on our Club Together Forum, cancellations are made on a ‘last booked, first cancelled’ basis. Further consideration is also given to duration of stay and the knock-on effect of surrounding bookings whilst seeking the least disruptive approach toward maintaining full site occupancy, for the benefit of the wider membership, whilst affecting as few individual members as possible.

so, due to the fact I was booked for 4 nights and travel Solo I was denied a holiday.  This is descrimination!

Agreed jeffcc.  Attacking Viv especially when she is unable to respond is IMHO going too far.

Write your comments here...Whether or not she is permitted to post responses on here is a matter between her and the club and has nothing to do with me. I'm not stopping her from posting responses!

Right now, I'm more interested in dealing with lunchtime orders coming in from my customers. I need to earn at least another £40 before close of business tonight so that I can cover the payment of my site fees, for another week!

I think everyone needs to stop discussing the person in question otherwise there will be little choice but to close this thread as I feel enough has been said already?

David

If we are not discussing "the person" then the thread should be closed as you cannot have one without the other. Many comments have been posted some agreeing and some disagreeing with what has happened, everyone has a right to their opinion, but please let's not speculate the distress caused to staff or underestimate the distress caused to Vivienne by this cancelation. She is a lone caravanner and had to deal with this on her own, and hoiw would we react if this happened to us and we were on ouir own, would we react differently. I have asked for conformation from the club regarding their policy as wherever I tow to from West Wales it takes hours and I do not want to have to find somewhere else to stay. I understand that certain factors can be beyond anyone's control, but to be told a lie is another matter, and I believe from the post that is what happened and annoyed the poster.  So please be considerate of how a single person took on a large association and question their policies, informed us of what could happen and for her efforts got banned.

Good post, David.

This is not the place for discussing a situation we cannot know the full details of or for making personal comments.

Cariadon, there is a difference between discussing the person as opposed to the event and cancellation policy. It can and should be kept impersonal.

I am siure Vivien can and probably will get the outcome that she deserves. Too many on here can and do say the wrong comments when an issue is put forward.  We have the people who think the cc can do no wrong and vise vera .

Write your comments here...Thank you, David. That is precisely my understanding of what has happened

Makes you wonder exactly who saw fit to report Vivien's comments as supposedly offensive doesnt it.

Write your comments here... It has nothing to do with diatribes, R2B. It is to do with my concern that an individual member of staff has been named and villified to such an extent that it has become a fear to attend work, because of the risk of further abusive attacks. Such vicious attacks can cause illness, anxiety, depression and other such health problems and I don't want to see that happen to anyone, including myself.

As I understand it, the forum is supposed to be a pleasant place, not a place for personal attacks against others. How would you feel, R2B, if it was you that was being personally attacked in that way?

Am I reading the same CT Forum as Malcolm?
