Nice Site

Willingcott is a good location for beach holidays. Woolacombe and Croyde are excellent beaches. Access to the site has a narrow stretch for 1/2 a mile but there are usually enough pullouts. Make sure you doing come up the back road as you'll regret it! Our only gripe was that the men's toilets were shut down for cleaning quite early - before 10am. The women's closed an hour later and this was ok. The Wifi didn't seem to work between 6-10pm. Everything was very clean and tidy though.

Fantastic short stay, shame we didn't stay longer

Excellent site, well maintained and spotlessly clean. Pub is a short walk up the cycle path accessed from the bottom of the site. Excellent food there. Beach is fantastic and within 2 miles, Make sure you follow the suggested directions though, some very tight narrow lanes if you go the wrong way. We will certainly be looking to return here.

Great site with great wardens

Spent 3 nights on the way to Cornwall. As we were held up on the M5 I phoned to say we wouldn't be arriving until 6.30pm. On arrival one of the wardens was in the office looking out for us and he helped us find a pitch close to the dog walk as we have an elderly dog. All the wardens are friendly and helpful and do a fantastic job keeping the site clean and tidy. It's position is great if you like beaches but also if you like to explore the countryside around Willingcott.

A Warm welcome in North Devon

We have just returned from a week on this lovely site. Enough peace and quiet for the adults and enough space for the kids to enjoy themselves. Any visit to Woolacombe without a trip to the beach would seem madness to me but some will just enjoy the unhurried feel of the green valleys and wide sea views out across the Atlantic. Spectacular cliffs and bays seals and seagulls this is a beautiful part of the country. The site is well run by charming and welcoming wardens. The facilities modern and spotless. I'm not going to tell anybody about this so it remains my secret...you wont tell anyone will you?

Beach site

Close ish to the beach, a short drive or long walk, easy access to other areas. Nice spacious site, plenty of different areas to choose. A good size play area for the young.

Lovely Site . Brillient Wardens.

We arrived on Sat June 10th & stayed for 18 nights, lovely site, brilliant wardens. everything perfect until we were woken at 5 past midnight Sat am by the motor home returning to the pitch next to us. Engine noise banging sliding doors, loud talking. Not happy, drifted off back to sleep only to be woken again 20 mins later when they decided to reposition the vehicle, more noise. Just glad we were not traveling home today after a broken nights sleep. I reported this to the wardens when the office opened. They dealt with this in a very professional way to my satisfaction. It appears the two women in the motor home objected to being spoken to about this. Needless to say after these women had left, the site returned to its usual high standard & we had a wonderful holiday. It just goes to show how selfish some people can be . We were not the only ones who complained , Thanks again to the wardens for dealing with this . See you again soon. Ken & Linda

Lovely stay once again

Stayed for a week when the temperatures were the hottest there had been for years. Lovely site, absolutely immaculate. Shame there are no fish and chip or pizza vans visiting anymore. Papers available to order at reception. Wifi poor and tv reception shocking but with weather in the 30's who needs em any way! Great area, ilfracombe and woolacombe lovely. Lyndon and Lynmouth a must to see. Go steady on the approach road and you will be fine. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future.

Lovely peaceful site

We stayed here for 2 nights in June. We had stayed before so knew what to expect. The approach road to the site is small and winding, beware of oncoming taxis and delivery drivers who have no intention of stopping for you! Good quick check in by friendly and efficient wardens. Plenty of choice of pitches, both grass and hard standing. Quiet for a weekend in June (just how we like it!). Lovely central facilities block, always spotless in all areas. The only problem we ever have with pitches is people being totally bone idle and walking across your pitch to get to the toilet block! Not much the wardens can do about rude, lazy people though so we don't blame them or the club. Nice local pub within 10/15 stroll from the site (from the locked gate at the rear of the site). Friendly landlord, very doggie friendly, good food so you can't ask for more. We walked (approx. 4 miles) into Ilfracombe from the site down the old railway line and got the bus back! Expensive bus fares in this area. We also walked into Woolacombe from the site, down the little lanes via Mortehoe (the scenic route). Can highly recommend breakfast in the Red Barn in Woolacombe. Got the bus back up the hill and again expensive but well worth it to avoid that hill!! Sadly we had booked 3 nights but had to leave a day early and therefore forfeit the cost of one night, but that's the rules!

Awful warden

I have never been spoken to in such a rude disrespectful and patronising manner. I will not stop here again. The warden was verbally abusive patronising unhelpful and vile. His poor wife tried to apologise which only made the situation more embarrassing for him. They would not give me his name understanding when I said I needed to complain about the way I had been dealt with. Wait for a change of warden if you want to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the site. No chance when he his heading the front of house customer service !

Comment from the Club:

We are very sorry to read your comments about your stay. We would just like to advise that the reason the site staff made contact with you during your stay was because they received a few complaints from other people on site regarding the repositioning of your motorhome during the night. They do need to address concerns from members as we need to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience on site but they always try to be respectful and polite. We are sorry if you do not feel this was the case and your comments have been forwarded to our Regional Manager for his reference.
