Great site, with nice clean facilities and friendly wardens. There is a dog walk, but not being on site, but through a locked gate at the rear of the site. The dog walk can also be used to access Woolacombe, for the avid walkers. Feel the wardens are sometimes fighting a losing battle, with some visitors not using the dog walk and either walking their dogs around the site or just allowing them to wander behind other peoples pitches to do their business. Apart from that, the sites other facilities are well above standards. The narrow road to the site, did worry me when checking the site through Google Earth, but actually driving it wasn't that bad . I would say that the majority of people using the road did give way to most caravans and motorhomes, just the first bit as you enter the road could have done with a bit of widening. Loved the area and the site, and it's worth a return.
Lovely site
Lovely site with plenty of well spaced pitches. Shower block was spotlessly clean. The wardens are helpful and friendly.
Difficult last half mile
My only reservation about this site is that the last half mile is difficult due to the road being narrow with blind bends between passing places. At the very least the hedges on that road should be reduced in height to improve visibility ahead and they should also be cut back so that they do not overhang the road.
Easy access to Devon Coast
Typical club site with a nice selection of pitches in different separate areas, giving a nice feeling of never being a big site. Outstanding new washrooms finished to a very high standard, with plenty of capacity even on a full site.
The biggest disappointment was the shocking quantity of dog mess around the rear site entrance on the public footpath, and on a few occasions on the site roads too, such a shame people have such little respect with their pets here, presumably as there is no dedicated dog walk. Usual late night noise from scooters and skateboards around the site, but then this is very much a family site
Otherwise a great location, not really a family walk into Woolacombe. but good buses to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe 7 days a week

Cracking Site
Lovely site, friendly staff, toilet and shower block excellent, well spaced pitches, mobile signal poor. Would definitely recommend
Lovely site, lovely part of Britain.
This site is everything you would expect from the caravan club and is in a beautiful part of our country, with plenty to keep everyone, young or old, happy. We came here last year for one week and although the weather was dreadful we could see the potential of the area and decided to give it another go this year. I'm glad to say the rain stayed away for the most part and what a difference. We have 3 kids who were happy to stay on site and spend time on the park, and if we decided to go off site there are excellent beaches, coastal walks and towns to spend your time. We found an excellent cider farm about 5 miles away and that took care of that side for a fortnight. There is a supermarket about 5 miles away too. About the area, if you are a first time visitor and are travelling during the day avoid going through Braunton at all costs. It will add an hour of stop start clutch burning hell if you don't.
Good points The site itself is very clean, tidy and has hard standings or grass, it has some nice wind break hedgerows and open areas depending on your preference. There are plenty of water/waste/chemical/ bin areas and no part of the site is too far from one. The staff here are very friendly and helpful.
There is a dog walk accessible through a lockable gate and you are given a key on arrival.
Bad points. I wish there were fully serviced pitches. It would have made our stay so much easier. There is no gate on the entrance meaning anyone can access the site at any time. The dog walk, although off site and not really anything to do with the site, is a concrete path. Not ideal to exercise your border collie and not ideal when the weather is truly hot. I'm thinking about sore dog paws here.
And that really is it for bad points if you can live with those minor comments you will love it here. 9/10.
Well done wardens
I just wanted to say this site is so beautiful and well maintained and the wardens work tirelessly. If your children respect others and do not kick balls around caravans or scream then this is the perfect family site. We have 2 children who adore and respect this site because it is so peaceful. They even love to revise here. We have swing ball and badminton, baking equipment and all manner of board games, pets, scooters, body boards etc. Top marks to the wardens for their work keeping the site so wonderful - a haven away from noise, teenage peer pressure, computers and a place where we can escape to and relax. Thank you so much.
Not great for kids - but a nice site
We visited this site for 5 nights recently and we were extremely pleased with the upkeep, cleanliness and facilities on offer – probably one of the best we’ve been to. The location is great too albeit a little windy due to its proximity to the coast but this is to be expected.
Sadly our trip was marred by the rather arrogant and unfriendly nature of the site warden. Not only were we spoken to extremely rudely because we were a couple of hours later than anticipated arriving due to traffic congestion, when trying to explain we had the phone hung up on us which didn’t create the right mindset from the off. Moreover we were concerned about the attitude towards children playing.
Being the school holidays and a site that says its family friendly we found our children being told not to play with balls, and when we heard other children complaining they were being told they were too noisy and to slow down created an atmosphere of children should be seen and not heard. Our children ending up feeling a little on edge as they were unsure of what they could and couldn’t do.
With the above in mind if you’re a couple looking for a quiet, well maintained site in a great location then this is for you. If however you have a family where you want your kids to kick a ball, run and play, we would not recommend this site.
On a positive note the area is beautiful, as are the local people, we had some great days out and thoroughly enjoyed our time away from the site – we would definitely venture down to Devon again but be more mindful in choosing a more family orientated campsite.
Enjoy your trip wherever you go!
Great for the North Devon coast
A lovely clean site with exceptionally friendly wardens. The shower and toilet block is clean and always has high availability. The beaches are either a stiff walk or a drive away, particularly if you want to visit Croyd. Highly recommend the Kings Arms - turn right and drive 3 miles ish. Careful approach to the site highly desirable, follow club instructions or ignore at your peril, the roads are narrow in places.
Willingcott Summer 2016
Our first stay at Willingcott in our first year of Caravanning and it's a lovely well maintained site. The location is around 2 miles from Woolacombe beach which is superb, but it's a challenging walk back up as the site is quite elevated. The toilet block is immaculate and the site is well looked after. We chose a grass pitch as we had kids in the awning but the grass pitches are not all very level so you have to fiddle about a bit to get the best compromise here. The hardstanding pitches are fine as they are level.
Nice walk off road pretty much all the way to Ilfracombe along the old railway line out of the back of the site, and it's possible to walk to Woolacombe beach, but not really easy to take all of your beach stuff with you, so you will end up paying to park for the day down at the front. The roads around Woolacombe are tight so check your sat nav route carefully and stick to the bigger roads as many roads are single track with passing places, and that's not easy while towing. Great site, nice people.
