Lots of attractions within walking distance of the site. Warwick Castle is a must for families but make sure you obtain the discount voucher from club website. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay but wish the wardens had been a bit more people friendly and smiled. That costs nothing but is nice for people on holiday.
Excellent Location
We booked for 4 nights here and ended up staying for 5 as the situation of the site is so good for touring the area. Ideal for walking into Warwick as it is so close to the town centre and also Warwick castle, but also close to the tow path for walking up to the Hatton 21 Locks (or in our case we cycled!). The pitch we chose was firm even though the weather had been quite wet at night before we arrived and although it was not a concrete pitch it was grass and gravel. The facilities although rather dated are well looked after and kept extremely clean as is the whole site in general. We found the wardens to be very helpful and friendly.
The area is well served with restaurants, cafes and very good pubs all within walking distance and there is an M&S food in the town centre only a 10 minute walk away.
One point regarding the booking on line, we had been trying to book for the week we wanted but it was showing no availability so we telephoned the site and managed to secure a booking, apparently this is because many of the pitches are grass and if the weather is very wet they cannot be used. So if you are tied to dates it is worth checking directly with the site if there is availability.
Overnight stay at Warwick
We stayed for one night at Warwick Racecourse to break our journey south. The location is excellent. It is just a short and easy stroll into the town. We visited two interesting museums- both free of charge. We walked along the riverside and through the very attractive park. The church is beautiful and a visit is highly recommended. Although our stay was brief, we managed to do a lot owing to the convenient location of the site. The facilities, although a little tired were very clean. We would like to visit the site again for a longer stay.

Warwick and the Races
We stayed at Warwick for a week in late March, and enjoyed good weather, visited the castle twice (don't forget your CC discount), local museum and park, plus the town. All by walking from the campsite, we didn't use the car once in the entire week, a real treat. All in all a great week.
One thing the club needs to do though is make customers and members more aware of the pitch types available because when booking online it is not clear that the normal terminology used I.e. standard pitch with awning means GRASS in the case of Warwick and in early and late season this is very unlikely to be the type of pitch needed.

Excellent base for touring.
My first comment on this site would be to ask the Club to emphasize the type of pitches available on the 'Site Availability' calendar. It is grass with awning or hardstanding without awning. I booked a pitch with awning but just prior to my visit discovered in the small print that the pitch would be on grass. My motorhome is heavy and I do not book grass pitches in order to avoid any potential damage to the pitch. I contacted the site prior to my arrival and found the warden to be extremely helpful with the result that I ended up on hardstanding.
The site itself is ideally placed being only a short walk from the centre of Warwick and from Warwick Castle. The Castle and its grounds are excellent and a full day should be allowed to see everything it offers. If, like us, you rely on public transport then there are excellent links to Coventry and Stratford on Avon.

Brilliant break
Stayed here last week of March. Weather was pretty good on the whole and we were able to do all we wanted. Site was very well kept and facilities were very clean. Only problem we had was, some of the grass pitches were quite boggy and as we have a very small van we needed to use our awning so couldn't use a hard stand as these are non awning pitches. Would certainly visit again. Warwick is lovely and the Castle is definitely worth a visit.
Long Weekend @ Warwick
Stayed here for 3 nights in March mainly for location to Warwick. Couldn't be better. Easy to get to off Warwick bypass with short drive thru the Town. Warwick Town centre has plenty of Pubs, shops and a Salisbury just a 5 min walk out of the Racecourse. Warwick Castle is just 10 mins walk and with a 2 for 1 C@MC offer well worth a visit. Canal walk past Hatton Locks is a lovely 1 hr walk up to Hatton Arms (great pub lunch & beer).
Only minor thing but Toilet facilities are looking and showing their age, but are still keep well clean. Wardens very welcoming & helpful.
i will return !!
Fantastic Stay
We have had a fantastic stay at Warwick Racecourse Site. While we were there, there was a race meeting on the Wednesday and it poured down for most of the day. However it did not dampen our or indeed the wardens spirits. The wardens were fantastic throughout our 7 night stay. Nothing was to much trouble and the facilities were always spotless and a credit to the work that they put in. The site is a little faded and in need of a refurbishment but it is a site that we would return to as there is plenty to do in the area. uniblue
Lovely peaceful site, close to town and buses to other towns
We had mixed weather, but it did not spoil our enjoyment. The site is next to open fields and directly next to the racecourse.
There was quite a lot of rain during our stay, and we were concerned about being bogged down, but the weather improved and we were able to get off without any help.
There is a bus stop almost at the entrance to the site, with buses going to Stratford. From the bus station further up the hill, you can catch a bus to Coventry and Leamington.
We were warmly welcomed by Pauline and Bryan, who gave us lots of information about where to go, and where things were on the site.
We liked the site and the area, and would recommend this site for singles, couples and families.
Good access on foot into Warwick
We arrived here on 15th March for 2 nights to see Warwick. Access to the town is excellent by foot and there is enough to see to spend at least a full day just visiting Warwick. There are excellent bus links to Stratford upon Avon and Royal Leamington Spar as well as Coventry so we could have easily spent more days here. Lots of restaurants and a good selection of smaller shops including Smith Street which has lots of independent traders. In addition to the Castle there are two council museums that are free to enter too. Excellent dog walking facilities right at the site gate but no park for children. The toilet block is below par in reality and there was some queuing despite the site being nothing like full. Not all the hard standing pitches are fully hard standing so you may end up with wheels on the grass as well. I would return.
