The site is in a great location just a short walk from Warwick centre. The site is well maintained and the wardens were very helpful. The site is especially good for people traveling with dogs as the 'park' in the middle of the racecourse is ideal for them. This was our first visit to this site but it definitely wont be our last.
Can't believe why there are so many negatives against the lady warden, I found her very friendly and extremely helpful as was her husband. Why are members so upset at being told off when arriving at 12.30 when arrival time is clearly stated as not before 13.00? The wardens should do as the previous wardens did, close and lock the gate only opening at 1.00 pm, no argument. I also agree with the wardens that there is a 'no visitors on site' (a Club Rule during Covid) why should we all be put at risk. We use this site frequently, it has a lovely walk all around the racetrack, also an amazing place to be on a race day. Easy walk into town and the castle is a must. Sainsbury's just across the track too, handy. Extremely helpful and friendly wardens we loved our visit, thank you.
Brilliant site to stay with Motorhome. Walk across racetrack and you are in Warwick, a lovely town with individual shops, pubs and restaurants. Do try Tasca Dali Spanish restaurant- 35.00 for five courses which just appear and are always great!
Bus connections are excellent. Leamington Spa - buses every 10 mins and Stratford Upon Avon not far though bus journey goes round the houses!
Castle within walking distance though pre-booking essential.
Site facilities dated but clean. Racecourse not spending money on updating them? Not sure why all 3 urinals closed? One could have remained in use ?
Staff welcoming and friendly.
Spent a very pleasant 5 night stay at this site to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Site is very well maintained and tidy. Some of the pitches are small but more than adequate. The facilities are very clean and tidy however I would have given a 5 star but they need a general paint and update. The wardens do a great job and both of them were at all times pleasant, helpful and very welcoming. We never at any time encountered any of the traits mentioned by a previous reviewer, far from it both wardens were professional and friendly. Both were very knowledgeable about the local area and forthcoming with help with advice. They have taken Covid regulations seriously and yes this has impacted on the number of facilities available but this is unfortunately outside their control and they manage it well. Thanks to them for taking steps to help keep us all safe.
This was our third time at this site and every time we have really enjoyed our stay. Ten minutes walk to Warwick which has numerous restaurants and pubs and shops. There is a bus depot with a good selection of bus routes. Warwick castle is on the doorstop too. Top site and we will return especially if there is a race day as the site has first rate view point of the track.
Just had a Three night stay, really nice site.
Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Nice walk into Warwick from the site, and enjoyed watching a race meeting, which was a bonus.
Would recommend this site, look forward to visiting again, next summer.
This is a great site for proximity to Warwick, just a few minutes walk away, and Stratford, just 8 miles away. Excellent for dogs, the adjacent open grassy area is fantastic for giving them a good run. We usually use the site as a stopover, we have a son living in south Oxfordshire, and it's a halfway house. Pitches are ok. Toilet facilities are small but adequate for the size of the site, except at the moment there is no teeth cleaning allowed which is a bit over the top, even in the present circumstances. We have stayed on 11 different CC sites since lockdown was eased and this is the first time we've come across this. At the moment there is an unwelcoming, brusque and rather aggressive female warden (the male warden is lovely) who speaks to you as if you were 8 yrs old. We're in our mid 70's and don't appreciate this. Needs to learn some people skills I think! It's not what you say, it's the way that you say it!! We have been CC members for many years, and 99% of wardens are lovely, helpful/friendly/welcoming, just occasionally you come across a "jobsworth" pity.
After reading some of the more negative feedback on here I felt very compelled to leave some feedback myself. This site is one of the best all round sites I have had the pleasure to go to. I am on my 5th visit now to the site. I have stayed on all the different types of pitch and I have never found fault. People must know that putting pegs into concrete is never going to be easy. Anyway, at the centre of it all is the wardens, they are just fantastic. They have treated me like family, they have taken the time to speak to me and get my feedback and they can never do enough for me. I have witnessed them on site daily working hard during this pandemic to make people feel safe and sound while maintaining very very high standards of customer service. Thank you, wardens, for making my time in Warwick the best it can be
Would I come here again?? Already booked for the next few weeks
Having read many negative reviews about this site and the wardens, we'd like to put our point of view.
The site itself is excellent, with both grass and hard standing pitches. The pitches are a good size, with a mix of sunny (when it shines), and shaded locations. The facilities are certainly in need of updating, but are clean and perfectly adequate. Any Covid related restrictions that are in place are completely understandable given the on-going situation with Coronavirus. The location is excellent, a short walk into Warwick, where there is plenty to see and do. There is a bus station at the top of the road, and some good cycling/walking routes close to the site along the canal and river.
The wardens on the site were very good, welcoming us to Warwick, and explaining the site rules clearly. Throughout our stay the wardens were busy cleaning the facilities and keeping the site in good order
After reading some previous review i was unsure what to expect but there was no need to worry.
We found the wardens pleasant and helpful.Even though the track around the pitches and entrance had some potholes they wasnt deep enough to cause damage unless you was traveling at some speed. The elastic band system worked well as in all the other sites we have visited since lockdown has been lifted.Very central location to the town centre only 10 minutes walk. For craft beer lovers the oldpostoffice is a must. you can walk for miles along the river with your dogs as we did
Great Location. Staff looking after site did not appear to be very happy
happy. The lady was a bit obsessed with the COVID situation.
The facilities were ok but there was no spare toilet for use when facilities they were being cleaned and the band use meant that if you wanted to use the loo when two people were having a shower you had to wait until they were finished showering, which was a very long wait.
