Stunning Location & Immaculate Site

Don't need to say too much other than this is a great site in a stunning location.  Not only that but the Wardens take a very obvious pride in their work and attitude to customer care.  Very well done!! Barry Worth Wilts

Most enjoyable short stay

Enjoyed our short stay at this site immensely helped by some fantastic weather and the beautiful local scenery. As a rather inexperienced caravanner, who reverses with some trepidation, the staff couldn't have been more helpful in getting me onto a pitch without endangering any fellow campers or holding up the site traffic. The washrooms were pristine and whilst not used by us the games room would have helped keep kids happy on wetter days. Good location for exploring Ullswater and Keswick, where there is a large choice of dining. Access to site was easy and it's proximity to M6 make it a great stop off location. Not ideal if reliant on public transport or nearby hostelries.

Lovely Troutbeck

Lovely views of Blencathra, also we were so lucky with the weather for our week there.  Good location for the northern Lakes though with easy connection to Ambleside and Bowness.  The toilet blocks are rather old and tired - perfectly clean but need updating.  With no mobile telephone signal (O2) and no Club wifi, there is a real problem of staying 'connected'.  We needed to go to Penrith to get e-mails and necessary information.  The Troutbeck Inn, just up the road, remains highly recommended for excellent food and a memorable meal.  This site needs some investment to bring it up to normal Club standards, but otherwise is fine.

Great Site

Just had a great 4 nights at this site. The facilities are spotless and the wardens friendly and helpful, the site itself is well laid out and has excellent views over the surrounding countryside the site is very close to the motorway but it feels very rural. There is also a games room on site with pool tables, table tennis etc. Keswick, Ambelside, Bo'ness, Ullswater etc are all easily accesible from the site. We had a meal a the Kirkstone Inn the food was great and the price very reasonable. Overall we had a great time at a great site.

One of our fav sites now

This was a stop over on our way to Scotland and we could have stayed longer. Lovely site with good size pitches and usual spotless facilities. Our dog loved the walks accessed from the site.

Immaculate site

The only negative is that the toilets are very dated - however the wardens keep them spotless. In fact the wardens keep the entire site spotless, including one day when I saw them washing the entry barriers! The whole site is a credit to them. When we arrived they were also so helpful, indicating which pitches were available and which had the best view etc. She had just gone through the same with the previous couple. They treated everyone with such care - thank you. The site is in a great location with easy access and unlike some sites there are numerous very good pitches, not just a few. Surrounding countryside is beautiful but long walks from the site are difficult so you will probably need to use the car and park it somewhere first. Overall just a stunning place to be and jumps straight into our top ten after one visit.

First stay at Troutbeck

Had a wonderful stay here. The wardens and assistant wardens were all very helpful and friendly. There was a great area for walking the dog behind the site. Great farm shop on the main road just a few minutes away. I really enjoyed the openness of the site compared with Coniston which is in amongst the trees. Also the staff put on a great day for us on the Saturday of my visit with talks from the Mountain Rescue team , falconry display, bbq and music. I'll definitely go back.
