Good location

Good location for trips to Keswick, Penrith, Glenridding etc. We went in August, site was full, so ended up with a fully serviced pitch i.e. a tap with running water, should have booked earlier! Tap not really worth the extra cost?

Fantastic site

Just spent 4 nights at the beginning of October. Site is excellent with very good clean facilities. Wardens very helpful and friendly. Great location for touring all the fantastic locations the lakes have to offer. We had two dogs which loved the walks directly from the site. We were on the serviced pitches which were spacious and we'll spaced out. Good TV reception through site booster. Fish and chip van visited site 2 nights a week and was excellent and good value. Definitely will return and recommend to friends.

Great site in excellent location

We stayed here for four nights in early October and other than one rather wet day the rain gods were conspicuous by their absence. The site is well situated for walking on the fells without too much travel and the wardens were very helpful in making suggestions. Penrith is a short car journey away where there are some really good bakers and butchers selling artisan food. Much has made in the reviews I have read about the site being tired, and while certainly the showers show a degree of wear and tear I wouldn't subscribe to describing them as tired and, they have underfloor heating , not something one finds on all sites. They are also spotlessly clean. I would hope that the next time we visit this site, probably 2016, the club will have invested in Wifi as mobile signals are all but non existent and regrettably in this modern world one does needs access to email

Great Site

We have just spent two weeks at the site, location and views are stunning.  The weather was unbelievable for the end of September, beginning of October.  Facilities are great, spotlessly clean, always nice and warm and we never had to wait for cubicles. The Wardens were great, always friendly and helpful.  They were always busy on maintenance and cleaning around the site.  So many wonderful places to visit on your doorstep.  Games room and play area for children and young people.

Great Site and Location

Stayed here for 3 days end of September. Really lovely site in lovely location. Yes the washroom could do with updating but it was spotless, as you would expect at a club site. Pleasant wardens and to be honest I am quite happy to be without Wi-Fi and mobile signal for a while. Will certainly return

September stay

When staying at Troutbeck I sliced open a finger. The wardens, as always, were brilliant! We have stayed here many times and love it. This years wardens being particularly nice. Thanks again.

Lovely location, poor facilities

We have just left Troutbeck after having had a long weekend there. Lovely location and great views. The washrooms are showing their age, botched repairs to the men's shower floors, and a generally tired block.  A big minus is the lack of wi fi, especially as there is no mobile phone signal on site. It's about time that this site was brought into the 21st Century!  The male head warden could do with improving his people skills! However these points aside, it's a lovely site, in a great location. We will return, but only when the shower block is refurbished, and wifi is installed.

Well worth a visit

We have stayed 4 times at Troutbeck Head. It is one of our favourite sites with breathtaking views of Blencathra. It is close to Keswick, Penrith and the Rheged Centre. Also close to Ullswater, one of the most beautiful of the Lakes. The site is well laid out with plenty of room between outfits. The wardens and caretakers are both friendly and helpful. The toilet blocks are clean and well maintained. All the facilities are of the highest standard. If I could have just one wish, it would be to have wi fi available. But with so many giant mountains around, I guess this could be difficult.  We are looking forward to many more visits in the future!  Many thanks.
