Well kept site

Stayed here for 5 nights in September. Great site wardens very helpful. Well laid out pitches and all well maintained. Shower blocks are showing there age and could do with a refurbishment.  Overall a great site in a nice quiet location.

Ideal North Lakes retreat

Very friendly welcome and plenty of information on what to do locally. The grandchildren with us were also made to feel welcome and loved the location. Located next to the river which would normally have been ideal but coupled with some rain we had it was pretty noisy and reminder to 'self."Don't put caravan under a tree". Recommend it for families being very close to Ullswater, where they enjoyed the boat trip.

Great Family Holiday

Stayed here for a week in August, beautiful location, very quiet site. Toilets and showers very clean and tidy. Will definitely be returning. One of our party went in the grass (by accident) whilst backing in and the following morning was welcomed by a notice on a stake stuck in the grass!!! The only letdown was our children (9 years if age) were told not to go over 5mph on their bikes by the wardens - unless you are going to fit a speedometer to their bikes how would they know... Thought that was a little ridiculous. Just saying :)

Excellent Site

Spent 8 nights there beginning of September, we were delayed getting to the site because of an accident on the M6 but we were given a warm welcome by the warden. They were all very helpful throughout our stay. Facilities were spotless and the grounds were kept immaculate. Would definitely go back for another visit.

Lovely Site

Had 7 nights on this site at the end of August. Just under 2 hours drive from home. Have passed the end of the road numerous times on days out to Keswick but never considered a stay here. We weren't disappointed. The site was very peaceful and well kept by very friendly and approachable wardens with easy access to lots of places. The toilet block was spotlessly clean but in need of an update. Look forward to a return visit

Heaven

All I can say is: Ditto all the reviews here. First visit some years ago when we had fun trying to get out up the hill in thick snow! Thoroughly enjoyed recent (warmer!) two-day stop in campervan, despite the rain. So green, views so enchanting. Then of course there's the Lakes.

Well located.

This site is very well located for both a stopover when heading North/South being just off the M74 near Penrith and also if you want to explore the Lakes. The site is extremely well maintained and the Wardens are friendly and helpful. We will definitely use this site again.
