Not Happy to say the Least ?

We have stayed at Tredegar House before every time we put a Awning up we have major issues regarding putting pegs in this is not acceptable paying top money and having to bend pegs because this is a Concrete Slab with a few chippings on top not your normal hardstanding now looking for a Commercial Site when we need to be in this area Many Thank's Kevin Pengelly

excellent site, good location but some room for improvement

We have just returned from a week away at Tredegar house. The site is located just off of the M4 and we had read many reviews about the traffic noise- we found this to be minimal and did not disrupt us at all so don't worry about that! The site is great, not too big and excellently located within easy reach to Newport and Cardiff. We rode our bikes into Newport one evening for drinks which is easy enough to do. We took our 2 dogs with us and having the large grounds of Tredegar house on the doorstep was excellent. These can be used for free by the general public and they are great for dog walks. Now my couple of criticisms: no tv aerial points which is poor- the caravan club really should have these as standard on all their sites now. The male shower block only has 4 showers which is not sufficient for a site this big, this was made worse with one of the showers closed for maintenance all week meaning only 3 shower cubicles. These small criticisms aside, the site is great and we would visit again.

Lovely setting

Stayed here for one night on the start of a tour of Wales, but will definitely be coming to spend more time here, a real little gem set in some beautiful grounds and really well kept, the shower blocks were spotless.  Would recommend this site 100%

Excellent

We were competing at Newport Velodrome and the site was within easy access. We were very impressed with the whole set up and would definitely use this site again next year when we are down again. Didn't really notice an noise from the traffic.

Brilliant Wardens !!

The wardens at this site are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. Their attitude is so good the CC should use them as exemplars for future training. Excellent site only let down again is the road noise, why cannot the CC be more discerning in locating sites. We travelled to two sites this week Brecon and Tredegar, neither of which we have visited before, and both are sited exactly adjacent to major trunk route roundabouts. I know planning makes it difficult these days to get the locations you want, but surely when introducing sites that are guaranteed to bring a substantial amount of income to the local economy, the CC has some clout in pushing authorities to give them better locations.

tv reception

This site is well up to club standard , very nice staff and surroundings,  my only gripe is tv reception is very poor, especially on the lower level pitches. We was on 133. Come on Caravan Club , install a booster system on all sites, your making enough money!

Excellent We will return

We really enjoyed this site as lots to do. On different days we visited Newport and Cardiff on the bus which stops close by. Tredegar House was very interesting and beautiful. There is a lake walk Which was nice. There is road noise which is why we marked down on peace and quiet but did not spoil anything for us as not too bad.

Beware

Please beware. I stayed here recently. I reported to the wardens and to the CC head office. Holes have been drilled between the male shower cubicles. These have been deliberately positioned to enable lewd behaviour and with the intent of Voyeurism. I have since learnt that this has been an on going problem for at least five years. Do not allow your children to go to the shower blocks on their own. Other than that, friendly wardens etc.
