Good base for a few days or stopover

We've stayed here many times for 3/4 days but now appreciate it more since having a dog.  Not many sites have a huge park next door where you can actually let your dog run off lead. Tredegar House is well worth a visit and last visit I did the Saturday morning 3k park run.  It isn't the quietest of sites having busy roads close by but if you want to be close to town or the major road network while travelling it's ideal. Having said that it's never kept me awake.

Handy stopover for onward journey west or east

Usual c.c. site standards and well situated for onward travel east or west depending on your destination. Wifi not very good if pitched up at the far end of site by the tent area, we have been on pitch 49 and 64 and both times experienced slow wifi.

Gateway to Wales.

Perfectly located to access South Wales. The site feels very secure and the back ground noise of the traffic was not an issue for us. Great for dog walkers as Tredegar House is on the doorstep and has a huge park at your disposal. Plenty of amenities at your disposal.  Site facilities were very well kept. The team of wardens are friendly and very hard working. We will definitely stay again.

Excellent stopover

This is a lovely, clean and efficient site which is extremely useful as a stopover, due to its proximity to the M4. We used it this time en route to Tenby. We enjoyed visiting Tredegar House, the first time since the National Trust took it over. As excellent as ever. One 'downer' was a visit to Newport. How can it be such an awful place when Cardiff has so much to offer. Easy bus rides to both places. We will certainly stay here again. 'Camper vanners' from Forest of Dean

Lovely Location

Spent a week at this site, very nice place, close to all kinds of amenities. Our labrador loved her walks on the Country Park Estate. Facilities very good, location handy for Cardiff, Wye Valley, Forest of Dean etc. Would go back again.

Lovely well kept site

Visited this at the beginning of June, only booked for a week as not been before, went on recommendation. Friendly wardens, immaculately clean facilities and good size pitches. The site is in the grounds of the house as its lovely to be able to walk around them during the day or in the evening. Will definitely be visiting again. Recommended

One of the best

Easy access from M4 which is nearby so some road noise has to be expected - never kept me awake though!! Pitches seem to be of reasonable size, facilities excellent, wardens very friendly and extremely helpful. TV reception good (English or Welsh), handy shop in site office with full "corner shop" and good chippy within walking distance. Tredegar House (NT) well worth a visit including the tea rooms! Grounds are extensive with good play area.

Dog owners delight

We booked a XXL pitch for our 9.7m RV, near the serviced pitches. They only have one space for big RV's, so you need to book direct, but staff very helpful. Pitch is near access road, with road noise, but we don't mind that as it means you don't have to tip-toe around, like in some quieter sites. This was is a great position and had lots of room in a good access area. We had to visit motor-home services, for our long rig it is easier to circumnavigate the perimeter of the camp site, and not take any 'short cuts' that would have had us in a few tight squeezes. We were next to the four serviced pitches which are next to the wardens' vans, on the entry road, and with a nice view and surrounded by lush trees. There is lots of dog walks nearby, best of all you are contained in the grounds of Tredegar Park and gardens; which are fantastic to wander around - check out the pleasant lake walk, but I'm glad I took a torch (time flies etc.).
