Excellent setting and location

We use the site often to visit our daughter who lives in Newport. It is located close to the M4 motorway so is useful for an overnight stop or for longer to visit the many attractions that Cardiff, Newport and surroundings have to offer.  The site does have some road noise but the gentle background hum has never disturbed our sleep.  The site is well laid out on the edge of a country park in the grounds of a National Trust house which is well worth a visit.  The excellent facilities are well cared for by the friendly and helpful wardens.  Nearby are an Asda supermarket, The Dragonfly pub and a Greggs.  We always look forward to visiting Tredegar House Caravan Club site.

Not all about the noise

Anyone looking at this site on the map can clearly see that with the motorway and major a road nearby that its not going to be quiet. Given that it's a club site you can expect good to very good facilities and an orderly layout. What isn't always apparent or provided is the very best, warmest welcoming wardens, who were in contact with information as we closed in late one night. When we did arrive, late, tried and some what stressed, we were greeted with an quick, efficient booking in, with big smiles and a calming tone. Not what you find on every site by far, enough said!! Can't praise the wardens enough, Thank You. One night became two and we will return without hesitation, despite the noise which is in the most part not that bad.

Perfect location

My wife and I recently enjoyed a two night break with our 2 chocolate labs. Although there is no dedicated dog walk on site the park was a wonderful experience. Really enjoyed the walk round the lake and watching its wildlife. Delighted to see a heron and kingfisher as well as various water fowl. Only negative was a little noise from the motorway during the night. We will be back as we would like to see more of the house and gardens.  Altogether a brilliant location.

Wonderful friendly site

My wife and I have visited this site before and find it a great location for visiting Cardiff and the rest of South Wales. The Wardens are the most friendly and welcoming I have found at any site and very helpful. The site is clean and well maintained. Being part of the grounds of Tredegar House means there are some interesting walks from the site, no need to use your car. We would not hesitate to stay at this site again when in the area.

First visit

This is a lovely site on different levels. Well kept by the friendly and welcoming wardens. There is some road noise up on the same level as the toilet block but away from that this site is great. Ideal for touring and discovering what the area has to offer. Caerleon, Tintern, the 14 locks and of course if open the fabulous Transporter Bridge, an experience not to be missed.

Tredegar House Site

This is my second visit to Tredegar as it is a great location close to the M4 so ideal as a stopover. It was good to be able to walk in the grounds/park at Tredegar House in the evening. It was also interesting to visit the house and learn more about it. The site is well laid out and quiet in relationship to its proximity to the motorway. The facilities were very clean, but compared to some other sites are now looking a little tired. The warden team were doing a great job, thanks

Excellent site

Stayed on the site for 3 nights. First though on approaching the site was wow. Well maintained and lovely location although close to the main road so there is some road noise depending on your pitch, but something and nothing. Shower block was clean and tidy but small, 5 shower cubicles in all, if you timed it wrong you had to wait awhile but no great issue. ASDA was 15 minutes walk away, as was a decent pub, the Dragonfly. A nice walk around the park grounds just outside the site entrance, ideal for dogs. All in all a lovely site with lovely staff, will be going back for certain.

Cardiff visit

We chose this site due to its proximity to Cardiff and ease of buses into the city. It turned out to be a good choice, friendly staff, clean facilities nice local walks in the park, local pub just down the road which was "OK". Bus stop just down the road right at the roundabout then right again at the traffic lights. Really enjoyed the stay.
