We have been going to Tredegar site for as long as we have been CC members, so needless to say we like the site. When we were first coming to this site , in March we would count c. 30 caravans, the last few years the site has been nearly full all week. We found out that it is being used more and more as a stop off point as it is situated next to the M4. This year I have had cause to contact the CC because the hardstandings are really too hard and are bending the rock pegs, this isn't the only site like this ,Malvern is the same and there are other's. The N.T. now own the park and are doing lots of work on the house and surrounding parkland.
Good site easy access from the motorway
This is a well managed and pleasant site. The only disadvantage is quite a lot of noise from the motorway which is close. However this makes it easy to find and convenient for a stopover. It was great to find it open and it was very busy the weekend we were visiting.
Would have liked to have visited Tedegar house the local NT property but couldn't fit it in also the house is covered in scaffolding at present while maintenance work is carried out. We will be going back to visit when this is finished

Wife's birthday
Nice peaceful site.lovely warden's and helpfully.first time using this site nice warm toilet lovely place to walk the dog. Some road noise, hardstanding need to be updated But will be returning and would recommend.
Great location and a warm welcome
Chose this site as it is local to friends we were visiting. Not only did we get a warm welcome but so did our friends when they called in. The location is spot on for walking the dogs, the National Trust here is very dog friendly they could even go in the cafe. We will be back to visit the house.
Weekend break
We stayed on this site for the 2nd time last weekend. We live very locally but once you re away from home it is a holiday. Unfortunately we encountered a pair of very unhappy wardens. We timed our journey wrong and arrived 10 minutes early. We were told to go back to sit in our van until 12 noon in a very abrupt manner. We were parked behind a van in the arrivals lane. When we went back to reception we were complained at for blocking the road. I explained that there had been a camper van in front but the warden said it's gone now move our van up. Throughout the weekend we felt targeted by many digs and on last morning warden knocked on our door to complain that we were draining our hot fresh water tank on the pitch. We were under the impression that wardens were friendly and helpful. These 2 must have been having a very bad day.
MID WEEK DEAL
We had a great week, sunshine, showers, hailstones! Great first visit, but we will definitely be back. Didn't realise it was half term week it was more like Crufts. It's surprising how many dogs can be kept in a caravan, all shapes & sizes!!!!

Weekend stopover
We have visited this site on numerous occasions and live fairly locally. This site is great however this time we miss timed our journey and arrived 10 mins before the official check in time. We sat quite happily outside in the line up and another outfit also turned up behind us. The warden was not happy about us being there and was quite abrupt. The people behind us also got a very miserable welcome. ITs not always easy to time ones journey to the minute and we have never been greeted before with such an unsmiling welcome. If wardens don't like people they should not be in the job.

Great Site.Ideal for visiting Cardiff
We use this site when we visit Cardiff and as a stopover when going south or east.
We have always found the site and facilities clean, on our last visit there was a lot of dog's
mess around the site. I felt sorry for the wardens who spent a lot of time picking it up.
I thing it's time the club charged for Dog's as they do abroad, they charge for children who
don't leave a mess around the site.
Feb half term
We had a lovely 4 nights here during Feb half term with our 3 kids, site was well placed for Cardiff and the wide variety of tourist sites to see. Castle Coch and Caerphilly Castle is a one day trip, we then spent a day in Cardiff at Techniquest and Cardiff Bay. The Royal Mint was fantastic and kept our 3 entertained.
The site was clean and facilities were spotless, there is road noise but not enough to put you off going there. Tredegar House was closed as being refurbished but the park has a few good walks around it and there is a decent playground.
All in all a great trip and easily accessible from the M4 once you work out the roundabouts!
Well located site
Spent a few days here as we don't live far away. The site staff were very friendly, and the facilities were immaculate. It was lovely to walk our dog around the adjoining National Trust park.
There is some news from the main road but otherwise a very nice site.
