Autumn Glory

Enjoyed a wonderful 5 days here. Beautiful weather, autumn leaves were spectacular. Tredegar house well worth a visit. Also visited St Fagans & Cardiff Bay. The site is in a great location, central for visiting many places in all directions. Staff were very friendly & helpful. We are looking forward to going again.

Tredegar House.

Great time had by all including park run on Saturday morning. Spent the day in Cardiff by bus which was £2. Receptionist was very helpful. Will definitely be back.

Nice to return

Lovely to return to this site after many years...the last time we stayed there was travellers in the carpark outside the site and a security guard on the site at night so we a bit apprehensive about coming again. What a difference we had a lovely 2 night stay, the house has now been taken over by the National Trust. We walked around and had a nice lunch in the cafe. The faculties were warm and clean, we had an enjoyable stay. Just one thing...what is it with CMC sites washing their caravans/motorhome s...at times we feel we are in the middle of a Car Wash!! You never see this on other sites!!

Perfect as usual

We stay here on a service pitch once per year whilst we visit family in Bridgend. The site is laid out on several tiers, plenty of space between pitches and the four service pitches are conveniently located in a line near the wardens. This year we are visiting during the last week of October, the trees leaves have turned a lovely shade of gold and are falling every day. The wardens as usual are bright, cheery and welcoming, they always have a smile on their faces and make time to chat when they are out and about. At this time of year their workload increases significantly due to the need to clear away fallen leaves but they still keep smiling. We heard from a member that some members are complaining about the noise from the leaf blowers, to be honest it is not at all disturbing for the brief time each day they perform this work and ensures that no one slips and slides on rotting leaves and injures themselves. We love to come to this site, Tredegar house and park are an extra bonus with our daily 2 mile stroll around the lake our attempt to keep exercised.

Barking mad!

Have stayed here many times but seriously disappointed with other users this time. Why it’s acceptable to exercise your dog on my pitch and let it foul the roads and wee on the grass on site I’ll never know, there’s a hoofing great park next door and dog bins aplenty. Our last day was ruined by some inconsiderate individual leaving dog mess on the roadway for others to stand in overnight (which begs the question was the dog even on a lead in the dark for the owner not to realise?). An expensive valet now required for the carpets of my new caravan....thanks for that!!!

Well positioned and Pleasent Site

We stopped overnight once at this site but this is our first 'real' (1 Week) Visit. The site is very well located for visiting Cardiff and surrounding areas but the site in itself is a gem because of the attached Tredegar Park which our dog's loved (and it was used frequently). There is a superstore (ASDA) and lovely Fast-Food Outlet (Twinz) both within walking distance which is very handy. Could hear noise from road but wouldn't say it was obtrusive and got used to quite quickly. Had minimal interaction with the Wardens but found them to be very friendly and welcoming. Facilities were very clean (although perhaps a longer broom is needed for Washing Up area to get spiders in corners!) but in need of some TLC as there were some cracking in the Mens Shower area (floor) and my Partner mentioned the same in the Ladies - Not sure why the Facilities Block needs Locks though? We will certainly be visiting again and look forward to it - Well worth a visit for both the site and the surrounding area.

October visit

We chose this site to use as a base and one week stay over during our visit to South Wales and as a gateway to our ulitimate destination, the Gower Peninsular. We had never been to visit Cardiff or the surrounding areas so the location was perfect and right next to the M4. The site was well laid out. Exceptionally clean and tidy. The Wardens were all friendly and extremely helpful to us when we needed support. The location next to the National Trust House and Parkland is a real bonus. Try the NT cafe, the food is simple and delicious. Asda is also in close proximity. Cycling and walking is convenient too. We enjoyed our stay very much and will have no hesitation in coming back. Our experiences of the caravan and Motorhome and Club have always been consistently good, and the sites offer a very excellent standard at a very competitive price.

WIND DIRECTION

This is a great little site which is well maintained and well situated for a short stop off or for longer stays. The toilet block is a bit small if the site is full but is normally adequate. I have noticed before the low level noise from the M4 which is not far away but this time the wind was obviously in the wrong direction. Wrong direction in that it was blowing the noise of the traffic directly to the site. I have to admit it was a bit noisy through the night. Don't be put off it is well worth a visit with so much to see in the area. Loads of pleasant walks and space to walk your dog. The mid week discount is well worth having and makes the site terrific value.

Autumn Break

My wife and I used Tredegar House as a stop close to Cardiff. It's a fantastic site with great grounds especially for Dogs. There is a great cafe in the house and of course the house was beautiful. I particularly enjoyed walking around the lake. The pitches were all drained well so we were able to keep dry and clean.

Our Welsh island :)

Had our first stay at this Club site in Wales, the Wardens were friendly and helpfull , when we arrived only 3 spaces left so felt like we had to pick from the leftovers , but we ended up on a nice little grass pitch number 20 on a C bend of road and in fact we felt in the end it was our little island in Wales , the pitches are bit hard to reverse onto with a caravan as tight but ideal for motorhomes , a rally turned up at the end of the week and surrounded us but they didn't bother us in fact we watched them have there tea urn and presentations , road noise was no problem and we where near it compared to pitches further down by the office for example , there is a little herb garden by the office free to pick , we had mint on our welsh potatoes the wifi was as normal at all sites hit and miss and annoying if you paid for the week The house we never went in but walked around the park that was nice , be nice if the caravan site users had a discount on entry to house as we staying on the site We used the park and ride East to get into Cardiff was so easy the only annoying bit is the roadworks on roundabout we had to face everyday to get anywhere , but the improvements there doing look like will be very good .. the nearest beach is about 13 to 15 miles away we drove to there and we drove to Barry Island as well and Newport , if you return after 8pm the main gates are closed but you have a key for the padlock then some more wooden gates to open near site then the electronic barriers , but we didnt l, one club site we visited had no gates or barriers at all in Norfolk ! Asda is nearby for all your needs it even has a mcdonalds inside the store , we stayed a week and became very settled Colin and Amanda
