The title says it all really.Reception area, toilet block, waste areas and rows of hardstanding pitches are from the same template as is fohnd on many a club site. Which pleases many of its members who like consistency. I was expectinv to be mentioning that road noise is a problem buf it didn't keep me awake. The Motorway is far enough away from the site for it not to be a factor and the general noise from directly outside the site drops off after 11pm. The boundaries walls and trees do provide a bit of a barrier.
Mrs WN mentioned that each cubicle in the ladies contained a hair dryer, rather unusual but welcome. We found the shower block perfectly acceptable with a goid water flow and hot enough. Entry is coded and thanks go to the site staff for providing a large template next to the keys for those who have left their glasses in their LV.
Tredegar House is interesting and the park area can be used as a large dog walk. If you want to catch the bus to Cardiff od Newport then you'll need to walk around the biundary wall. Takes about 10 minutes.
The club could do with updating the photos of the site as the grass area shown is now hardstanding.
great site with good location
We had a stay of 3 weeks to check our van out before season starts.
Stay was excellent with usual top quality staff who helped with all our requirements.
The only downside is the M4 rush hour that raises the noise level but otherwise very peaceful.
The site was very busy but everything ran very smoothly for us.
Will definitely use site again.
Many thanks to all the staff who made our stay so pleasant.

Great place to visit, very friendly staff
Visited for the last week and its a great place to be based for looking around the area. Pitches flat and very well laid out. The Wardens keep the place immaculate, and are very helpful. One thing i did notice though and the only reason i gave an overall score of 4 was the shower block is looking a bit dated and in need of a refurb. I assume as the site is open all year round the club doesn't want to loose the revenue.

First stay after 25 year gap
We collected our new (to us) caravan last week and wanted to stay somewhere local just in case. Tredegar House fitted the bill and so we booked a hardstanding pitch for 4 nights. We were members of the Caravan Club around 25 - 30 years ago and are returning members.
The site is easy to find, but pay close attention at the M4 / A48 roundabout as it has been rebuilt and you can see even the locals are finding it challenging. We took it slowly and followed a lorry! Great welcome on arrival, standard size pitch that was almost perfectly level in both directions.
There is a little traffic noise, so it is worth a study of the site from Google Earth to find the main road location if you think the noise might affect you and then you can pitch elsewhere.
Loos and showers are fine, but odd lengths of hi-viz tape on the floor of the cubicles.
Overall, a good few days and pleased to say that after 25 years, things have changed very little and as good as they were back in the 1980s
Stunning site
We booked to stay 2 nights and will be back. A super site, clean, friendly with fantastic Tredegar House a 5 minute walk away. The site is situated on the outskirts of a huge National Trust property , plenty of walks and cycle tracks plus a children's playground just off site. We loved the ambience and close to nature situation.
Facilities were clean and excellent.
Wonderful for families and dog owners .
What's not to like? Especially 50% discount midweek.
Close to the Wye valley and many beautiful spots. We especially loved Tintern Abbey .
Workers on site
Stayed one night , disappointed to see workers living on this site.
They arrived back after a days work, one started up his motorhome and left the engine running for 20 minutes, the fumes were bad.
Then in the morning left at 5.10am a second leaving 10 minutes later then more followed, with no respect for others.
One left his car on the pitch, hope he paid ? There is a car park , so why could the car not be parked there , that would free up the pitch for the weekend,as they were full.
Not what the c&mc club was.
Shame as lovely site in a great location.

Great Site
Booked late availability for New Year. 2nd visit (last was a whistle stop overnighter). Tracy & Darren were fab and put on a great little NYE spread & drinkies. 20 mins to walk to bus stop for bus into Cardiff & £3.60 for an all-day ticket. Setting in National Trust ground is beautiful and once you're used to the new roundabout off the M4 getting there is easy.
Not sure I want to give this a good review
We were visiting family and friends in the area between Christmas and New Year. We read the reviews and were troubled by the mentions of road noise.
When we got there we were so impressed with the site and location. It's so close to junc 28 M4 but the roundabout coming off the M4 is an absolute nightmare, each time we came back to the site we took the wrong turn off the roundabout but got there in the end. We had pitch 5 which is down on the left, we have dogs so wanted a quieter corner which this was. The site is very clean and tidy, nice and quiet, there was a little road noise but nothing that worried us and we're light sleepers. The toilet block is a little tired but kept extremely clean and well kept, it does need a little money spent on it but didn't really impact on its use. The site is within the grounds of Beautiful Tredegar house, the grounds are stunning to walk in and the dogs loved it, a beautiful lake to walk around.
The site is really useful to get into Cardiff without being on top of it, we will certainly use it again hence not wanting to tell everyone how good it is. A little disappointed that there was a lack of engagement from staff when we booked out a day early (had to go home as father was ill) but not the end of the world.

Lovely but tired
We stayed in Tredegar during December and enjoyed our stay but we found the shower block very tired and in need of attention, the ceilings are showing signs of age and the vents very grubby. We found a lot of corrosion On the partition wall legs between showers and plenty of hazard tape covering damaged floors. Also half of the showers were locked off, I assume to cut down on cleaning as my wife said it was the same in the ladies side. There is also a fair bit of road noise, especially noticeable in the mornings.
The site is well laid out and the wardens helpful with advise and assistance.
Tredegar house and grounds are stunning and the site is well placed for both Cardiff and Newport.
Return visit
Another visit here and it won’t be the last. It’s a great site. The wardens are brilliant, helpful and friendly. Facilities are clean and warm but do need the upgrade planned.
We are not worried by the road noise but some may be. It is there but given the sites position you expect it. Love the park for walking and the cafe has great coffee and cake.
