Good site for families

We stayed at this site with our grandson. The site is well run and the wardens very friendly . One minor gripe , the description in the site book states "conveniently located within walking distance of shops and places to eat" a bit of an exaggeration! particularly when the weather is not good and you have young children. Also a general comment relevant to all club sites ,please bring back the mop and bucket to clean showers after use, the squeegee does not work on tiles with dimpled surfaces and there is no means of cleaning it after use so any dirt etc is just pushed into the shower tray. gripes over we enjoyed our stay.

first visit -will return

Good experience started before we left!!   We had booked a grass pitch but warden phoned to say that the site had experienced a lot of rain and would we prefer a hard standing instead.Excellent example of care and service. Site facilities fine (as always on club sites) , wardens friendly and helpful - and always around for maintenance - and moderated childrens' behaviour if / when needed! A great seaside holiday site!

Great site

Lovely site and cleanliness was fab only downside was people driving too fast on internal road and kids congregating round caravans away from their own.

Fabulous site

This was the second time in the month that we stayed on this site, the first time was early July before school holidays lovely & peaceful, then we stayed last weekend mmmm kids everywhere noisy racing round on their bikes & scooters always in the wrong direction and all over the site not just around their caravans. The staff tried telling them but they were ignored. The staff at this site are brilliant, they keep it clean & tidy and are very helpful.  This site would benefit from being an adult only site.

Just returned from a short stay

Had to leave booking till the day before we were due to arrive.  We understood that there were only grass pitches left but when we arrived we were given a hard standing pitch as my husband is disabled. Wardens were very helpful andlovely and friendly. We try to go to this site twice a year if we can. Hope they raised a lot of money with the Tombola.

Good Site

We arrived and was greeted with a very warm welcome from the Wardens, and remembered us from our previous stay once again very helpful ,we enjoyed our stay as all-ways. We found the toilets very clean and loads of HOT Water. Good washing up area and the wardens are always going round cleaning and tiding /putting plants in and trying to improve every thing that campers might need. Found a very nice hotel/ pub to have a meal and you could take dogs in .

Peaceful seaside retreat

We visit this site every year and consistently have a great time.Lovely position  within a 20 minute pleasant walk to Sandilands beach (just a Sandy beach and w.c.) and a short car ride or longer walk to Sutton a beautiful small town with all you need facilities whether you are a couple or family but without those dreaded slots!A very tidy clean site with friendly wardens and we are advised a new toilet block in the near future which is probably overdue as the present facilities are good but in need of updating.

Thanks Again

Its not been my lucky year so far with the caravan so off I trotted to Sutton on Sea with my new warranty replacement fridge for my 1st week in the van this year! I arrived to find the hook up cable had dropped, dragged on the floor and blown all the fuses in the van and the relay on the car. From day one the Wardens couldn't have been more helpful. Didn't actually find the relay was blown till my last day and despite a full book they found me space while the RAC fixed the car. It was a return visit for me and its a great site, the Wardens have had some stick in previous reviews but I give them 10/10.

A Grand Holiday

This is our second visit to Sutton this year and would be back in August if there was availability. The site is as you would expect on a caravan club site. The toilets are a little dated in comparison to others but they work and were very clean and tidy. I am sure they will be on the list for updating. The wardens were great, very cheerful, & always ready for a joke and a chat. This is lovely site with its location to Sandilands, the beach and the easy walk to Sutton with all the lovely beach huts. If you visit make a point of going to The Fat Seagull bistro at the bottom of Sea Lane just before you get to the beach, the food is exceptional, the staff and owners are really friendly and very welcoming. It is wise to book as they get very busy and only serve food at certain times. Please note that is one of the few sites where you have to pre- book a hard standing or grass pitch. This has just been introduced which can make things a little difficult if booked well in advance. For me it takes the charm out of choosing your pitch when you arrive, but I suppose different things need to be tried.

Green and pleasant

I stayed here with my two dogs. Thanks to super-helpful wardens, who helped me unhitch and manoeuvre my tiny caravan into position, as I was on my own. The site is well-kept, peaceful and very green, and there is a footpath outside along one perimeter for dog walking. The on site shop sells basic provisions which is really useful, as it's a short drive into the town of Sutton-on-Sea itself. Showers and toilets were fine. The nearest beach is sandy and was very quiet when we visited. A really relaxing stay.
