Good location but tired facilities

This is the second time we have visited the Sutton site.  The site is well located and has many local attractions.  However, the site facilities are a little 'tired' and dated compared to other Club sites we have visited.

Not as good as previous years

We have used this site about 6x and always enjoyed it but this last time was not as good. The shower block was always dirty and I used it just after cleaning and it wasn't cleaned properly the sinks were filthy and the floor still had grass all over it.Children riding round on their bikes is a problem and can be dangerous at times riding round in the dark etc .But I think what has spoilt the site is having to choose grass or hard standing for this reason we will only book grass as there is some really bad hard standing pitches which are small dark and dingy along the front behind the road really they are only fit for motor homes that don't need much room .It was so much better when you could just choose a pitch you liked when you got there .

A nice site for visiting the coast

This is our 2nd visit to this site. We really enjoy the site the pitches are well positioned, the staff are polite and the facilities are clean. We love the site because we can cycle or walk to the beach and Sutton on Sea is quite compared to the resorts around but has everything you might need.

Sutton on Sea

A nice site but the toilet block needs updating and enlarging, especially when the site is full as it was when we were there. A half hour walk to the beach was pleasant and the kids enjoyed the beach. It can be noisy near the play area with kids playing football and at times speeding on their bikes.

dark lane

a well spaced out site, very clean, quiet. as with most club sites, the children are left to run wild, using the tarmac roads as racetracks.although the 5mph speed limit is clearly signposted, its not often adhered to. if you walk into town,(about an hour if you walk along the road)on your return be prepared to have to walk the last 300metres back to the camp in total darkness, along the unpaved road, which is used by the locals as a quick cut through. we found that they tended to drive towards you and speed up. im surprised that this isnt mentioned anywhere.  as usual there were certain pet owners that allow their dogs to mess anywhere.we were sat in our awning, and one women in particular allowed her dog to urinate in the lamp outside our van, then she threw US a dirty look and walked off. after chatting with a regular,i was alarmed to find out that the site is prone to flooding.again this is not mentioned. sutton is a small town, one visit is more than enough. the traffic free prom, had vehicles driving to the beach huts.

Good Site

Lovley well set out site, helpful wardens. Could do with more showers and more wash-up sinks but everything was clean and tidy. Only complaint I have was the chldren riding round the site as fast as they could in and out between pitches and going the wrong way round the road system. Maybe it would be a good idea to put some more fence poles round the site so its not an easy race track!!

Lovely site, great beach!

I echo most of what the other reviewers said!  Washrooms a bit tired and shower cubicles small with a stool that you have to move into shower in order to open/close the door! Still very clean though. Wardens great, other guests really friendly. Nice walk to beach and along beach to Sutton. Wish we had taken our bikes so we could have cycled along the prom to Mablethorpe. Will definitely return!

Pleasant and peaceful

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay here, having recently bought a caravan and returned to caravaing after a 16 year break. The site is very well managed and the staff were really helpful and pleasant, and nothing was too much trouble. Useful little shop for milk, papers, eggs, bread, etc. The toilet block is a little 'tired' but we understand from the warden that this is due to be updated shortly. This site would also be very suitable for families as there is a playground. Would definitely re-visit this site in the future.
