Great Stay

Have stayed a few times now and will be back for a lot more stays,we enjoyed using our bikes very flat for bike riding, you can cycle all the way to mablethorpe along the sea front which is an easy cycle ride. The facilites are very good with plenty of showers and toilets ,a nice tidy site in a nice part of lincolnshire.

Sutton -on-sea

This is the first site i visited when i first joined c c . That was around 1989/90 just small saplings not trees like now it is now better than ever . Plenty of wildlife to see deer birds all sorts even rabbits on site. The peace and quiet is really nice always liked this site and always will .The wardens are friendly site lovely and clean toilet block could be getting ready for a refurb but nothing to put us off going back again.

My review

This site is still a favorite seaside destination and we have been using it for over 20 years. Both my wife and I remarked this year that the toilet block seemed tired and in need of refurbishment. We cannot remember it being upgraded in the time we have been using it. The wardens keep it clean but the fixtures and fittings are old and worn out.

Quiet nice place.

Been to this site a few times now. Sutton on Sea is a quiet seaside town with a great beach for the family and they have a little paddling pool near the sea front for the smaller ones. There is an excellent hotel nearby with beer garden and good food. Mablethorpe is roughly 2 miles away and Skegness not to far either. The site its self is very well maintained and the site staff are very nice and informative, I think the only thing it needs really is the tv aerial plug, in the electric post. But overall would recommend to anyone looking for that quiet site.

Lovely

This was our second time in our caravan so we are still finding our feet and only have one other site to compare it to but on the whole we loved it.  We arrived for a long weekend and was quickly told which pitches we could choose from. The staff were friendly and spoke to our daughter who is one ( she tried to replybut didn't   make much sense ) but non the less the lady in the office answered her.  We loved that it is do close to the beach.  We had a pitch on the side of the site next to the main road. On our next visit ( and we will go back but for a longer time next time ) if we can wed try and get further into the site as it was a little noisy with the farmers ploughing. Although nothing can be done about it - it would just be a preference of ours. We took our daughter to the play area which states over 5's only. I would have thought a site like this would have a smaller play area too for younger children. There is the space. This is not a complaint but an observation. Our daughter tackled the climbing frame with our help and enjoyed running around on the large grassed area. My partner took our daughter for a shower in the blocks and he said they were clean. I prefer to use our own so cannot comment on the ladies. Overall the site was just what we wanted and we will return next year.

Second visit this month

We booked 9 nights then 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend and after the 1st stay we did look to see if we could change sites as in our opinion it has gone down hill.Unfortunately every where else was booked up.The toilet block does not get cleaned properly I know people leave it a mess through out the day but it doesn't get a good clean in the morning. The disabled toilet had dust and grime on the handles and in the corners were matted hair and dirt .In the gents there was a moth on the floor in one cubicle that was there for 3 days!!! .I looked in the comments book and all good comments are met with smiliey faces and thank you any negative comments have a sarcastic relpy which is unprofessional. We previously stayed at the Blackshaw moor site at Leek and this site puts Sutton on sea site to shame in matters of cleanliness.

Comment from The Club:

Many thanks for your review.  The wardens have been in touch as they were very concerned to read your comments.  As I am sure you are aware our wardens work extremely hard (particularly over a hectic bank holiday weekend) to ensure people have the best possible stay at their site.   Members are actively encouraged to leave comments in the visitors book when they leave. These comments are read daily by the duty staff and commented on with a polite and professional “thank you” or similar.  Some members like to leave smiley faces to show their appreciation which is always welcome.  Several times a year a Regional Manager calls at the site and reads through all of the comments and the useful feedback.  Occasionally another member will  write in the book against a comment left by another member and this is where you would of seen the negative comments.  Obviously with the book out on display it is hard to prevent this happening.

As far as the moths are concerned the lights are left on 24 hours a day and this sadly does attract the moths.  Windows and doors are left open to allow some fresh air to flow through and it is a constant battle to keep the moths out although our wardens do try their best.  The toilets are cleaned thoroughly once a day and obviously it is helpful if members respect the facilities and other members and keep them clean and tidy in between cleaning times sadly, this doesn’t always happen.  I hope this helps to address some of your concerns and thanks again for leaving a review

First Visit

This was our first visit to the site and it was nice to be able to book a hard standing - we hope this option will be adopted nationwide. Our pitch was perfect, near to facilities and not overhung by trees but some pitches seemed to be quite dark because of the trees and this has put us off using the site again in case we were sited on one of those. The site itself, although further from the beach than we had expected, is very well kept with pleasant wardens and as another reviewer has said they cannot be responsible for thoughtless adults or unsupervised children.

Great stay ruined by a comment from the warden

Lovely location and very tidy site. On our last morning we decided to take advantage of the warm sunny weather and cycled to the beach. watching the clock we made our way back to the site at 11.20am. on returning we packed the bikes and sun chairs away and made a trip to the loo. 11.46 the phone went, a warden reminding us we had to be off the pitch by 12, its a busy bank holiday weekend and we have to vacate the pitch as we are fully booked and when are we leaving. I have to say this really annoyed us...we were fully aware we had to be off at 12, I wouldn't care there were loads of empty pitches so it wasn't as if someone needed to be on urgently. I could understand if she rang after 12 noon, but before!!!!! On handing back the gate fob, we were told not to take the call personally, she was told by her warden husband to phone us. It created a bad uneasy feeling for us !

Comment from The Club:

Many thanks for your review and we are sorry to hear that you left the site with an uneasy feeling.  Our warden’s work really hard to ensure the smooth operation and management of the site as well as the safety of the people on the site.  The wardens recently had a case where another member had misread their departure date and this had a knock on effect.  Obviously being a bank holiday weekend the site was running full and the wardens wanted to double check that you were aware of your departure date to ensure they could continue to offer the best possible service to all members.  We apologise if you found this upsetting  - the wardens assure me that the phone call was conducted in a professional and pleasant manner.  Thank you once again for leaving a review.

Brilliant

I really don't know what all the negativity regarding the toilet block is about. They were spotless EVERYime we used them, not a piece of paper anywhere. Most people forget, it's the visitors that cause the mess so if you clear up after yourself it makes it better for others and avoids the blame being put on the wardens. Leave the toilets and sinks and showers in the same condition as you would at home, simples! We found the site lovely, peaceful and very clean and the wardens the best I have come across, very polite, pleasant and welcoming and a credit to the company and themselves. The only negative I have is the children riding around the site the wrong way and putting themselves in danger. This is not the wardens or site fault, it is the parents. Parents need to take more responsibility for their offspring as they would be the first to blame the car driver should an accident occur and it will before long. The club site shop is well stocked and reasonable rates, they also sell a range of flags etc in addition to foods and sweets and newspapers plus fresh eggs from the nearby farm. We stayed for 8 nights and have planned a revisit next summer as we found the site to be in the perfect location for travel into Sutton on sea, mablethorpe, Skegness etc but yet away from the hustle and bustle of seaside life and noise. We have 2 dogs and although the dog walk is off site, it is only next door to the perimeter fence of the site so is not a problem, again I can't understand the negative comments, after all the brochure does state dog walk on site or nearby! I think some people expect the world and to be honest the negative comments are pathetic, these people need to get a grip they are on a caravan site not a 5* luxury spa resort. Most issues are caused by others leaving a mess so perhaps everyone needs to learn to think about others a little more before posting negative comments on a site review which could impair the site popularity and lead to closure in the future!
