Just returned from a 5 day holiday, so glad I went to this site wardens friendly and helpful perfect location and very roomy pitches.
But I do think the CC need to spend some money on there shower and toilet facility's, I use the CC sites because they are clean and tidy but some sites now have such old facility's the club needs to spend some money and refurbish them or they will lose members .private sites are now so much better for shower's etc. if you don't refurbish the showers' etc. they need a deep clean by professionals , the wardens do there best with what they have.
Toilet block dated and dirty
Hand dryer out of order since 6th June, dust on toilet roll holders, yes they do daily cleaning but the minimum. Wouldn't,t go back.
Wonderful Short Break
Returned home today after a 4 night break at the site, which we have been visiting for around 18 years. On arrival such a lovely welcome from the site staff as usual, about 60 mins later the Assistant Warden stopped to ask if we had settled in OK, I agree that the Toilet Block is looking a little tired but it was spotlessly clean and I saw a lady member of staff cleaning the windows and getting rid of any cobwebs outside, she told me that with the foul weather last week it hadn't been possible to do the work at that time.
The grass pitches had taken a terrible battering last week (Spring Bank Holiday Week) and were out of use, although the staff had mown the grass and it allowed the pitches to dry out, NO Long Grass on this site.
Nearly Missed It !!
Was looking for the Caravan Club Site sign as we approach Crabtree Lane and not the Hawthorn Farm sign.
Received a very nice welcome from the wardens who gave us all the local info.
Pitches a good size but the toilet block is needing updated.
Not much to do in Sutton or Mabelthorpe, gave up trying to go to Skegness due to the sheer volume of traffic.
Played golf at Sandilands, nice welcome and not expensive, good for a relaxing game.
We do not think that we would return to this site.
Dissapointing
Although the site is well maintained this site should be a child free zone. We went as a party with 6 adults and 5 children and all we heard was children not being able to play freely. Aged between 2-8 years, they was told off for riding their bikes too quick and not sticking to the 5 mile an hour speed limit. Other caravaners didnt seem to like them playing around also. Not the friendliest of sites i have been on and sadly will not be retuning.

Sunny Sandilands
Hawthorn Farm is a delightful site, I have been visiting it for over 20 years. The wardens and assistant wardens are so helpful and obliging. They make you feel very welcome and help you with any problems. I do feel the site could do with the trees thinning out. The toilets could also do with an upgrade, apart from that I have no complaints. The Grange & Links is a lovely hotel in Sandilands to visit and there is also a golf club.

whit week hol
Site well placed for visiting Mablethorpe, Skegness, Louth, Alford. All site upto club standards. Wardens friendly, but not in your face all the time. Pitches of good size. Those against the road side are not that nosey.
No dog walk on site however, public footpath just too left of site gate. Dogs allowed on beach from Sandilands to Sutton on sea.
Good walk from site to Queens Park Mablethorpe. Corals cafe great for freshly made food. Great prices too and you can walk it off on the way back.
Sutton has a paddling pool adjacent to beach promenade for younger persons who may be in your party.
Louth we found Perkins. Another excellent eatery. Food made to order and not expensive. Good market town down side was only a small market and quite a few had packed away after we had eaten. This was only 2pm.
Skegness seemed difficult to get to due to planners poor road planning. Took 40 minutes from Butlins!!!
All in all good site in good location that we will visit again.
Quiet and peaceful site
This site is close to a wonderful mostly empty beach which is rated very clean. There is a concrete "boardwalk" that goes for miles. The beach is dog friendly but the site only has dog walks on the nearby lane. The nearby Links hotel does a good selection of bar meals and good Sunday lunch.A discount voucher is available at the site.
Linconshire retreat
A super site with excellent dog walks and easy access to an extensive dog friendly sandy beach. The sun shone but we are not sure what it would be like in the wind and rain. Waldos' fish and chips in Sutton was very good as was Sunday lunch at the Baccus Hotel which is dog friendly.
