Not upto scratch

If you are in a caravan or small camper & have the ability to drive to various places then this site maybe ok? We on the other hand own a large motorhome & so we prefer to pitch up & walk to the local attractions. Sutton town centre is approximately 1 mile by road or 1 & 3/4 miles if you go via sandilands & use the prom. Either way, the town is very disappointing, there are very few shops, pubs or restaurants considering it is supposed to be a holiday resort. On the plus side, the few pubs that are there are all dog friendly & so is the majority of the beach which consists of miles of lovely soft sand & very safe sea. The site was not kept as clean as other CC sites & the usual lack of common sense from some of the staff was on display. We wish the club & other members who take the time to do reviews would give us all more information about the area so that we can make a more educated choice when booking our holidays.

An early break

Spent a long weekend there back in April, when the site was nowhere near full and very quiet. Although only a stones throw from the old-fashioned seaside resort of Sutton-on-Sea, to be admired for shunning much of the 'candy floss culture' of its noisier and far brasher neighbour, Mablethorpe, its position along a country lane gives it a very pleasant, rural feel. For the reasonably mobile, it is possible to walk to the seafront in about 15 minutes and there is a good promenade stretching all the way to Mablethorpe. A short drive away there are good coastal car parking and picnic areas among the dunes in this atmospheric stretch of the Lincolnshire coast. A very good low season break.

we were very pleased on arrival very helpful warden, due to heavy rain a few days before we arrived they only had hard standing to offer, as they wanted the grass to dry out. the pitches were spacious everything was so clean .there was just the 2 of us plus monty our cavapoo, so can't comment for a family .but for us the dog walks the lovely dog friendly beach, the peace and quite was great. we will certainly be going back.

1st visit

We stayed at this site for the first time at the beginning of May. A nice peaceful site good size pitches, very pleasant & helpful wardens. Yes the shower block is dated but it was always clean during our stay. Please bring back the mop buckets. We enjoyed exploring the area the aircraft museums are definitely worth a visit, the beach nearest the campsite, Sandilands is dog friendly. We will certainly stay at this site again.

Southview

Just returned from a 5 day holiday, so glad I went to this site wardens friendly and helpful perfect location and very roomy pitches. But I do think the CC need to spend some money on there shower and toilet facility's, I use the CC sites because they are clean and tidy but some sites now have such old facility's the club needs to spend some money and refurbish them or they will lose members .private sites are now so much better for shower's etc. if you don't refurbish the showers' etc. they need a deep clean by professionals , the wardens do there best with what they have.

Wonderful Short Break

Returned home today after a 4 night break at the site, which we have been visiting for around 18 years. On arrival such a lovely welcome from the site staff as usual, about 60 mins later the Assistant Warden stopped to ask if we had settled in OK, I agree that the Toilet Block is looking a little tired but it was spotlessly clean and I saw a lady member of staff cleaning the windows and getting rid of any cobwebs outside, she told me that with the foul weather last week it hadn't been possible to do the work at that time. The grass pitches had taken a terrible battering last week (Spring Bank Holiday Week) and were out of use, although the staff had mown the grass and it allowed the pitches to dry out, NO Long Grass on this site.
