Lovely time was had by all

Just got back from another few days at this lovely site.  It's location is good about 30 minutes slow walk to the beach and then another 45 minutes slow walk along the seafront into Sutton.  A walk we never ever get tired of.  Sutton has an assortment of local shops which suited our needs.   Larger supermarkets and shops can be found in Skegness. Can't praise the wardens enough for their efforts in trying to keep this site in good condition.  It is way way overdue for a makeover.  We visited during the school holidays and yes it was busy and there were a lot of children riding around on bicycles.  Our children are all grown up now and no longer holiday with us but we enjoye reminiscing.  All I can say to the members who commented about children on bicycles - if you don't need to holiday during school holidays - then don't do it!!!  We shall definitely be back - children on bikes or no children on bikes, makeover or no makeover - just got to love this place!!!

Sutton On Sea

This is a lovely clean site and very helpful staff. Peaceful location but also a little far even from sutton. If you struggle to walk or have a very young family the site may be a little remote. Dont trust satnav as it takes you cross country through twisty narrow villages .

Sea air site

You can smell the sea, from your van and only a short hop and your in it. Calmer days are best, as the sharp sand blows at you. Lovely site, well run, clean and somewhere for everyone to choose, as different types of pitches. Easy access to Sutton, Mablethorpe and the beach.

One of our favourites!

We have visited this site several times now as a Mum and 8 and 12 year old girls! We all love it! The beach is stunning and always quiet. It's a good 15-20 minute walk but worth it. The fat seagul does nice ice creams but I wouldn't bother eating here with kids as they do not cater for them whatsoever. Poplar farm about 5 minutes from the site do lovely breakfast and ceramic painting that the girls loved! Very friendly here! We walked from here along the old railway line to Farmers Browns Ice Cream Parlour. A good 45 minute walk but nice to walk across wheat fields and open countryside. Ask Helen at Poplar she will direct you. We also walk from here along the prom to Sutton on Sea. Waldos fish n chips are lovely! There is a nice paddling pool and a bit of a park. There's a coop and we found a lovely old fashioned sweety shop. All satisfied with wine and goodies! The wardens are really kind and friendly! The showers, toilets etc are immaculate and those that complain they are dated really are nit picking in my opinion. We also visit the seal sanctuary in mablethorpe. The girls love it but it's a bit lacklustre. That said it is a charity - the young team in the cafe are lovely. There's a nice collection of animals for kids to see. Parking is great next door it's £4 all day for the motorhome and this is just a short walk to a lovely stretch of mablethorpe beach not much round it but there was a 'pop up' beach cafe. You can hire a beach hut at Sutton but you need to be quick in March as they get booked up! The link is on the East Lincs council website. There's a good Aldi on the outskirts of mablethorpe with a large car park. All in all this place is lovely I would never have thought to visit this part of the country until I stayed at Sutton on Sea campsite. I give Mablethorpe Skegness etc a wide berth but Sandilands and Sutton are lovely!

we could not believe it!

just spent 6 nights here, late arrival so ended up under trees but it didn't really bother us as the weather was good, best Wi Fi we have had on a club site to date. Wardens hard working and very helpful. Pity they have to deal with some female idiot who put what looked like a bag of dog poo down the loo in the ladies, my wife couldn't believe it. as Victor would say 1 do not believe it!

Bicycles

This site is quite and beautifully kept, the facilities are first rate, the front reception flowered are really nice. The only problem is the number of bicycles flying around the site. I personally think it will not be to long before there is an accident.

Lovely peaceful and clean site

My husband and I have just spent a week here and although the weather was mixed we still had a relaxing break - just what we were after. This is a fairly small site but has everything you need and it is really peaceful. The warden and staff were very friendly without being overpowering and worked hard to keep the place spotless. The toilet and shower block is a bit older but still served us well. My husband reported that there was a screw loose on the water tap fixing and before he got back to our van, it was being repaired - wish we had similar maintenance services at home! This was our first time to this area - Sutton-on-Sea is a little gem with a fantastic beach - and no crowds. We will be returning.

Great for Couples

What a lovely site for a quiet break. We spent 5 nights on this tranquil site. The hardstanding pitch was a good size and we were fortunate to be in full sun all day! The site was really busy so pitch choices were very limited on arrival and we ended up very near to the play park. As we no longer tour with young children we wouldn't normally choose a pitch near the park but it was one of the few remaining with good sun as some pitches are very shaded! However, the site was so peaceful we were not bothered by the children using the park. The facilities are a little dated but are spotless and so are a pleasure to use. The wardens were all lovely and made us feel very welcome. There is no on-site dog walk but there is a long track that runs all around the outside perimeter and through the nature reserve which provided ample exercise morning and evening. The walk to the Promenade at Sandilands and on into Sutton-on-sea is lovely and within 10/15 minutes we were on miles of dog friendly sandy beach. There are a selection of pubs and shops in Sutton-on-sea and the locals were super friendly. The promenade continues on to Mablethorpe and is a flat walk although there is not much reward when you reach the town! A thoroughly enjoyable stay and a lovely place to relax!
