Delightful Sutton-On-Sea

We have visited this site now several times over the last 2 years. It is a sheer delight everytime. It's quite, clean and within easy walking distance of the nearby beaches. The staff on site should be congratulated, despite being at almost capacity the whole site was immaculate. As can be expected the pitches are all very level, even the grassed ones. plenty of space between pitches with grassed areas surrounding which leaves plenty of BBQ areas and seating spaces for the sun lovers. We found the shower block facilities adequate and clean but could perhaps do with upgrading. If you choose to walk to the beach which is perfect for those with children and dog lovers alike, it takes about 20mins. There are two good places to eat onroute. The Fat seagull, which is open during the lunch period for smacks and excellent hot food. There is also the links which has a fantastic menu and good beers. Dogs are also welcome inside. At the back of the building there is a lovely lawned area and children's play area. The food was reasonably priced and excellent, also plenty of choice with a daily specials board. On the sea front you can cycle the route along the front to Mablethorpe or simply just walk, along the way there are numerous places to take a break, grab a snack and drink. On arrival at the site the entrance road is narrow but there are passing places and the locals are more than happy to allow you room to pass. Overall I can't really fault the site and would recommend it to anyone. I don't think you could be disappointed. To those on the site, we will see you again and thanks for a brilliant and very pleasant stay.

Returning again to Sunny Sutton

We have stayed here many times, WHY.? We live as far away from the sea as you can get in middle England and Sutton on Sea is within reach for a long weekend. We do not usually visit in August due to school holidays but sadly the C L next door has closed. (We paid our respects and offered condolences.) However, we were surprised at the level of quiet during our stay, noting the site was full to capacity. We noticed some children playing and chatting happily with each other, no evidence of noise from them. The same could not be said about the yapping dogs, whose owners seemed to think it ok by ignoring the constant noise doing nothing to stop them barking. Anyway the site is as noted by others, clean, tidy, welcoming, friendly wardens, neat and cared for pitches the list goes on. The facilities block is WELL PAST its sell by date and CC need to get on with a re fubishment. The site is situated on a lane from which you can visit the local nature reserve or walk out to the bus stop, about 10 minutes walk away or on through the housing estate onto the beach and high cycle/walkway onto Sutton itself in one direction or Hutoft Bank the other. The bus service to Skegness is not that reliable time wise and takes 1 hour. The same service also goes to Mablethorpe if you really want to go there. We enjoyed a cycle ride to Mablethorpe and saw the Poppies on the Beach flypast, very much enjoyed by thousands. If looking for a quiet traditional british seaside holiday without all the noisy amusements this is for you, if you want all the noisy razamataz, go to Skegness and Ingoldmells.

EXCELLANT LOCATION

Visited this site for the second time and once again had a fabulous time.Glad we got a spot away from the mass of trees. The staff are very friendly and keep everything in pristine condition, even though a refurb must be undertaken to the washing and toilet facilities.with the cost of a pitch nearly reaching £30 per night for a couple with awning there should be monies available to sort this out. Will be back next year

Fabulous site and holiday

We have just returned from a 12 night break on this site and we had a fabulous time. The wardens are extremely friendly and helpful. The site is in a lovely location and is great for a relaxing break. We stayed near the play area which was brilliant for our six year old and where all the children congregated. Yes the toilet block could do with some updating but it was always clean and there was only one occasion where we had a very small wait for a shower. Sutton on Sea is a lovely little seaside town and the beach and paddling pool area are great for children. We also had a visit to the small very quaint cinema in Mablethorpe which was lovely. We would definitely recommend this area and site.

Nice site.

Our first visit to Sutton on Sea , we were made very welcome by the friendly staff upon our arrival, the site was very well looked after and is covieniently situated as it is only a ten minute walk or a couple of minutes by bike through a small estate onto the sea front. Where you can walk or cycle to Sutton or Mabelthorpe. There is a bus stop at the end of Crabtree lane which you can use to visit nearby towns .(Skegness very definately not our cup of tea) The site facilities are very well maintained , lots of hot water. However they would benefit from a refurb as the decor is looking dated but as they were kept in pristine condition I am just nit picking here. This did not take anything away from a very nice break on a lovely site . My only disappointment was not being able to get a satellite signal from our pitch due to high trees, maybe they will be pruned in the autumn . Overall I would recommend this site to anyone who likes to be just away from the hustle and bustle , the easy access to a huge beach where you can have a stretch all to yourself if you wanted is also a plus.Golfers if you like a links course why not take your clubs the course runs along the front.

birthday holiday

Back again to this lovely site, staff are very welcoming and very helpful. Site is clean and tidy, but the toilets could really do with a renovation. the play area was a let down too as no swing or slide, just climbing frames, not suitable for all ages will be back again in a few years , thank you

New Member, First Site Experience

Just home from a three night stay at this site.  The lady on reception was extremely helpful when we explained this was our first Caravan Club, and also first trailer tent experience.  The marshals even checked if we needed a hand to setup!  The site, and indeed the Sutton on Sea area, is clean and tidy.  Easy access to beaches.  Plenty of nice walks with the dogs.  It's a new experience for our two dogs too, and folk were patient with their new socialising adaptation. I would have given 5 stars across the board.  However, the one downside, for us, was that we were recommended to go on pitch 13 as a roomy spot.  The problem was that it was next to the road, and also next to the farm(?) next door, which was very noisy with lots of banging and shouting every day except Sunday, which did keep setting the dogs off barking as a knock on effect :-( We will happily go back there, just not to that pitching section. Considering it was peak season weekend, we really had no bother with children and bicycles, unlike those mentioned in other reviews.  Those who were around, were very well behaved and observant of their surroundings. Credit to themselves and their parents.

lovely

Well what can I say, having just turned up on a dreadful day on the 20th June without pre booking what a welcome! a real little gem. The shop sells usual things and newspapers to order. Its 10 minutes walk to the bus stop, towards mablethorpe £5.60 return, and you can also visit Skegness via the bus also. Its about 30 minutes walk to the lovely sandy beach, and also the fish and chip van calls twice a week, and the were very good and not overpriced. Good for cycling and we will visit again.

Great three nights

Just returned home after three nights at this friendly site, the wardens are a credit to the club. The site is very well kept, to the standards expected even though some of the facilities are showing their age. We will certainly return again.
