Bicycles

This site is quite and beautifully kept, the facilities are first rate, the front reception flowered are really nice. The only problem is the number of bicycles flying around the site. I personally think it will not be to long before there is an accident.

Lovely peaceful and clean site

My husband and I have just spent a week here and although the weather was mixed we still had a relaxing break - just what we were after. This is a fairly small site but has everything you need and it is really peaceful. The warden and staff were very friendly without being overpowering and worked hard to keep the place spotless. The toilet and shower block is a bit older but still served us well. My husband reported that there was a screw loose on the water tap fixing and before he got back to our van, it was being repaired - wish we had similar maintenance services at home! This was our first time to this area - Sutton-on-Sea is a little gem with a fantastic beach - and no crowds. We will be returning.

Great for Couples

What a lovely site for a quiet break. We spent 5 nights on this tranquil site. The hardstanding pitch was a good size and we were fortunate to be in full sun all day! The site was really busy so pitch choices were very limited on arrival and we ended up very near to the play park. As we no longer tour with young children we wouldn't normally choose a pitch near the park but it was one of the few remaining with good sun as some pitches are very shaded! However, the site was so peaceful we were not bothered by the children using the park. The facilities are a little dated but are spotless and so are a pleasure to use. The wardens were all lovely and made us feel very welcome. There is no on-site dog walk but there is a long track that runs all around the outside perimeter and through the nature reserve which provided ample exercise morning and evening. The walk to the Promenade at Sandilands and on into Sutton-on-sea is lovely and within 10/15 minutes we were on miles of dog friendly sandy beach. There are a selection of pubs and shops in Sutton-on-sea and the locals were super friendly. The promenade continues on to Mablethorpe and is a flat walk although there is not much reward when you reach the town! A thoroughly enjoyable stay and a lovely place to relax!

up to date information

Lovely quiet site. As motorhome owners we always use local buses where we can and so the local information about the bus service is very important to us. We planned our trip to Skegness around the timetable supplied. This worked fine to get to Skegness but when we got to the bus station for our return trip we saw the bus just leaving 20mins earlier than stated on the timetable. We made enquiries and were told that the timetable had been changed since March. This meant we had an hour and twenty five minutes to wait until the next bus. We were tired by then and very disappointed after making every effort to plan correctly. We would have spoken to someone in the office but it was closed when we got back to the site and was also closed when we left the next morning!!! Information supplied should be kept up to date or its useless. Better not to supply than supply out of date information.

great for dog owners who fancy a walk

A lovely site, very peaceful and well maintained. A bit of a walk will take you to the beach, dog friendly, and there's loads of space for them to run and enjoy, if its open try the thai restaurant at the golf club which is next to the beach, highly recommended. Some of the pitches flooded a bit with the heavy rain we had, but it drained over the course of the day (pitch 20 gave us our own lake in the awning). We'll probably be back to stay here again as it was nice to relax and have somewhere nearby that the dogs could enjoy too.

Close to sandy beach

We had not been to this part of east coast before and were pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely sandy beach close by with so few visitors. The site is fine and although our pitch backed onto adjoining road traffic noise was limited. Well kept and maintained site. Once again though the showers let the site down. It really is time that the CC got its act together in providing 21st century showers. Helpful wardens.

Weekend break

Really enjoyed our break here. Lovely roomy site, lots of grass areas meant you didn't feel enclosed. The ability to walk to the sea front was a real bonus with the route explained to you by the warden very helpful. The only down side as has been mentioned on other reviews is the signage to the site which could be much improved. Would recommend this site for a visit.

Rural tranquility

Enjoyed our stay at Sutton on Sea, the site is easy to find and the grounds are very well kept. If you're looking for peace and quiet with a slice of quaint seaside on the side then please give it a go. Suggestion for site would be a caravan club decal on the sign post off the A52. Thanks again .

Lovely site very well looked after

Lovely site, lots of open space. Immaculate facilities but as others say could do with an update, but having said that they are perfectly adequate. Took our bikes and enjoyed the easy ride along the prom , you can ride up to mablethorpe. Lovely beaches shame it wasn't warm enough to strip off and dive in! Good buses to Skegness and mablethorpe we didn't have a car with us so used the buses. Would visit site again but with the car next time. Lovely staff.
