Great location for getting out and about to places. Site nicely laid out with clean facilities (quite crowded in the shower block during our stay). Traffic noisy from adjacent roads/motorway. Would definitely stay here again.
Good location for M and D's theme park so the kids loved it. There was also an excellent carvers nearby, Toby's which we used as well. Facilities were clean and the staff very helpful. Our youngest enjoyed the treasure hunt.
We stayed here over winter to test new caravan & is a very clean, well kept site with nice wardens. Can't fault it, its a great stop over site or for visiting things to see & do in Glasgow. Nice little park for kids. Would stay here again.
This is a typical Caravan Club site regarding the nicely manicured surroundings with large hardstandings and neatly cut grass, it has immaculate toilet & shower facilities with piped music ! However the main difference from a lot of other Caravan Club sites is that this place has very friendly sensible down to earth site wardens ! what a nice change from the normal Gestapo jobs worth's that dominate Caravan Club sites ! The site its self is very well situated as its 3 minutes off the motorway and a great stop over for us English on the way to the Highlands ! Outside the site turning left will take you on a walk though lovely parkland on to a large lake and Scotlands Premier M&D's Theme park (the Alton Towers of Scotland!) Turning right takes you to a Toby Carvery that served a great roast and had real ales ! can't go wrong with this one ! (I would say the only minor gripe is that you can hear the traffic on the nearby motorway but its not overpowering) we will definitely use it again
It is what it is. An urban site ideal for a city break or an over-night stop. In our case it was to see AC/DC at Hampden Park! You don't hear the road noise after a while, and it certainly didn't wake me up in the morning. On that level, can't fault it. Facilities first class, and wardens do a good job of cleaning them, but a pity a minority of members have little respect for maintaining the standards...
We booked this site as a stop over travelling from Cornwall to Oban. We had a lovely friendly welcome.
The staff are lovely and the site to the normal Caravan Club tidiness and cleanliness. We were expecting some noise but to be honest it wasn't that bad. We slept fine and headed off as planned in the morning.
First visit to a CC site, and this is an absolute gem, apart from as everyone else has told you, the M74. It looks to be recently refurbished, very well laid out with easy access and fantastic facilities. Very child friendly and within walking distance if you want it of a small theme park. Great bike ride or run around the loch and of course fantastic location for either a stop off or visiting Glasgow. At £15 per night for me and my son I couldn't go wrong, if only it was a mile or two away from the motorway.
Very friendly staff and a great first time experience but would only stay there again for convenience.
Note: there is a daily bus service into Glasgow organised by the site. Additionally they organised a minibus for the concert we went to see.
Visited site on 8 June, great pitches, great facilities,
easy to find. But constant noise from m74 and roadworks just outside site. Visited Falkirk wheel, very interesting and great boat trip. Motherwell just 10 minutes away for shopping and something to eat, not far from Loch Lomond, well worth visit. Also several walks from site, around Loch and woods nearby but noise from m74 can still be heard.
Great facilities, pity about the motorway noise. Spent one night here on way down south from 2 week holiday in the Highlands. Site is perfect for access to motorway but this of course has it's problems with traffic noise. However the welcome was good and toilet block/showers were some of the best found on any site. Good layout, ideal motorhome service point and big pitches.
We have just had a 5 night stay here in 2 caravans, 4 adults and 2 children. On arrival you are greeted by very helpful, nice staff who explain the site. Once through the barrier you are free to pick your spot. It is worth mentioning the road is very close and does give off noise 24hrs a day but we went near the playground which is near the road and it didn't put us off. The playground is excellent and also plenty of green areas for children to play. Facilities are top notch, clean, warm and we never waited for a shower or a toilet despite the site being over half full and the tent toilet blocked being closed.
An excellent place for local area, we visited the Falkirk wheel and Kelpies and also took the minibus which runs from the site into Glasgow.
Would return again if in the area.
