You can't have everything

First visit to a CC site, and this is an absolute gem, apart from as everyone else has told you, the M74. It looks to be recently refurbished, very well laid out with easy access and fantastic facilities. Very child friendly and within walking distance if you want it of a small theme park. Great bike ride or run around the loch and of course fantastic location for either a stop off or visiting Glasgow. At £15 per night for me and my son I couldn't go wrong, if only it was a mile or two away from the motorway. Very friendly staff and a great first time experience but would only stay there again for convenience. Note: there is a daily bus service into Glasgow organised by the site. Additionally they organised a minibus for the concert we went to see.

good site but noisy

Visited site on 8 June, great pitches, great facilities,  easy to find. But constant noise from m74 and roadworks just outside site. Visited Falkirk wheel, very interesting and great boat trip. Motherwell just 10 minutes away for shopping and something to eat, not far from Loch Lomond, well worth visit. Also several walks from site, around Loch and woods nearby but noise from  m74 can still be heard.

Great facilities.

Great facilities, pity about the motorway noise. Spent one night here on way down south from 2 week holiday in the Highlands. Site is perfect for access to motorway but this of course has it's problems with traffic noise. However the welcome was good and toilet block/showers were some of the best found on any site. Good layout, ideal motorhome service point and big pitches.

Great site

We have just had a 5 night stay here in 2 caravans, 4 adults and 2 children. On arrival you are greeted by very helpful, nice staff who explain the site. Once through the barrier you are free to pick your spot. It is worth mentioning the road is very close and does give off noise 24hrs a day but we went near the playground which is near the road and it didn't put us off. The playground is excellent and also plenty of green areas for children to play. Facilities are top notch, clean, warm and we never waited for a shower or a toilet despite the site being over half full and the tent toilet blocked being closed. An excellent place for local area, we visited the Falkirk wheel and Kelpies and also took the minibus which runs from the site into Glasgow. Would return again if in the area.

Brilliant wardens.

Had mishap whilst away from the site.  We returned to find our awning deposited on the roof of our caravan with the warden and several club members trying to alleviate more damage taking place.  Help and assistance from the wardens surpassed what we would have expected.  Even though they are always good, they were exceptional and very supportive.  If you can award more than 10/10 we would have done.  Thank you once again.   Dave and Barbara.

Nice but noisy

Stayed for a couple of nights en route. Lovely new site, helpful friendly wardens, adjacent to large country park with 4 mile walk around lake. However the whole place is invaded by noise from the Motorways and Main road that pass very close to the site. Doors and windows need to be closed to shut out most of the noise and vibration.

Great Site, wrong Location

This is one of the Club's newest sites and it shows in the facilities. They are excellent. Toilets spotlessly clean and spacious. Lots of space around the site and the pitches are a terrific size. However, the constant noise from the M74 on one side and the A725 on the other, along with the roadworks just outside the site, made this a very uncomfortable place to be. Once inside the van, the noise was well muted but outside was not nice. The Country Park was an ideal place to go for a walk, especially if you have a dog, but even here, the traffic noise was intrusive. Great site for kids with a good play area and with an amusement park right on the doorstep, plenty to keep them occupied. However, probably a site best suited to those travelling on and just needing to stop over for a night, but not, I feel, a place to spend lots of time.

Immaculate and clean site

Some noise from the nearby motorway but I was able to sit in my deckchair and speak to my family without having to raise my voice at all, not an issue really!! the site/facilities were spotless and the staff were friendly and helpful, will definitely be returning, the nearby M&D's being the magnet as my 2 are 7 & 5 yrs old and they loved it.

immaculate site

1 tiny fault. Motorway traffic very close and can be noisy at times. Other than that the place is amazing. Facilities are immaculate. Really pleased with this site and will book again.

Great weekend

This started off as an overnighter but as it fell on a weekend decided to book the 3 nights, glad we did. The site is just off the motor way so there is traffic noise but we did not find this obtrusive but I can see it could be bothersome to some people. Also there are motorway junction building works on a grand scale. Once again this did not bother us as we where out all day exploring. We took the local taxi to Belshill railway station, £4. Off peak return train to Glasgow £4.30. great day in Glasgow, shopping, eating and just being a tourist. Next day a walk round Strathclyde country park, about 4 miles. There are other walks to choose from. M&Ds fun park great for kids of all ages, only a 15 minute walk from the site. There is also a Toby near by, good value carvery. After our walk we sat outside in the sun for our evening G&T, like i said the road noise did not bother us. The site and it's facilities are kept spotless by 2 sets of wardens, well done both. Will definitely be back as there is so much to see and do in this area of Scotland.
