PERFECT LOCATION

After a long day travelling, Strathclyde country park club site always provides a warm welcome and excellent facilities. With spacious flat pitches and well kept grounds, lovely hot water for washing the dishes and yourself this is a club site that you can relax in as soon as you arrive.

A lovely and well kept site

We had a couple of nights here after meeting some friends. A warm welcome on arrival by the staff, a lovely level and spacious pitch. facilities were spotless. The road noise wasn't that intrusive and only seemed louder when the road was wet but didn't bother us or affect our trip. The site info hut has all the info you may need and we took the post code for a local Tesco to top up with food and fuel when we left for our next destination. Thanks to Wardens Mike, Sally and another lady (apologies I couldn't remember your name) for keeping an immaculate site and providing such a warm welcome.

Great campsite

First time visit to this campsite and was more than happy with everything. Site is spacious, clean, well maintained with excellent facilities. Staff were super friendly and helpful. There’s a Toby Carvery nearby if you fancy catering services. Taxi ride to Bellshill train station costs around £7.00 which will take you into Glasgow Central. The country park itself is huge but we didn’t have time to explore. One of the best sites I have been to and will be visiting again in November.

Stayed many times and always a positive experience.

I have stayed at this site for years, even before it was taken over from Glasgow Council by the CAMC. So convenient for exploring this part of Scotland. I found every part of it clean. Perhaps the grass could have done with a bit more cutting but it was being done the morning I left. I know I shall be back many more times.

Needs TLC

Been visiting this site regularly since it opened and have enjoyed the facilities. However the standards appear to have dropped and would suggest it now requires some major TLC. This would include weeds growing around the Elsan disposal area, small flushing hose at the Elsan was leaking on my last visit in June and the only repair made was to wrap a piece of insulating tape around the leak, pitches not cleared of weeds and generally does not look tidy and black mould growing around the shower areas. On our visit we noticed the warden out on a windy day blowing leaves???? With regards the central bin area we do understand the requirement .... however perhaps could be made more central, maybe near the toilet block as per other sites, ie, Lady Margarets at chirk where I believe the wardens rotate the euro bins as required. These comments will not stop me, at the moment, from revisiting the site on a regular basis.

Penny Pinching On Site

We store our caravan here and have used this site several times per year for weekends away since this site opened several years ago. There is lots to do in the area. A Toby Carvery a short walk away and more facilities at M&D's theme park with plenty for the kids to go also with bars and restaurants also a short walk away. We have stayed twice this year. They now have a new policy of no bins around the site. They now have a central collection point at the car park at the entrance to the site. Depending on where you are pitched, this could be a bit of a walk to the bins. They are saying that this has been required due to the amount of plastic bags they are using. At the cost of a pitch now at this site, I would say that the costs of bin bags should be more than covered. This seems to be a crazy decision that I don't think members will take well.

Amazing Stay 🤩

This was our second CAMC site that we have stayed on, and loved every second!! The location is great - central for food, and places to visit! The facilities are kept spotlessly clean, and have everything you could need! The hosts were so friendly and made our stay so enjoyable! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this site! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect Stop Over

We've used this site a few times, mainly for stop overs on our way north or south, sometimes for single nights, sometimes for a few nights. Perfect location for this just south of Glasgow, 30 seconds from the M74 Facilities always spot on.

Excellent stop over

Use this site for a stop over heading south and again heading north. Very welcoming wardens. A bit noisy from the road but didn’t bother us. Clean facilities and very open campsite. Enjoy delivery from Spice Indian takeaway from Motherwell. Great food and great price. Highly recommended.

Why only one toilet block open in August?

This is the second time we have stayed here. For the first, in May, the second toilet block was closed and we put it down to the site only being half full. This time, in August, there were a dozen or so tents near the closed block as well as over half the hardstanding pitches occupied. Not surprisingly, the one open block was struggling to cope. Why was the second block closed - cost saving?

Moderator Comment - Surely you should have asked the site staff for the reason?
