A Restful Weekend

We visited Stamford site for a two night stay, we had heard it was a well kept site, and we wasn't disappointed. The staff were great and advised on our hitching up.. we found the site well manicured and clean, friendly guests and a brill dog walk accessed via the site, but able to walk for miles through woodland if you wish. The weather helped to make the weekend even better. Thank you to the wardens at Stamford Caravan site who made us feel welcome. Oh and not to forget the Fish and Chip van on Friday evening..... Glen & Debbie.

Nearly Put Off

As this is our first year caravanning we were nearly put off as there was no showers and toilets but our friends say give it a try. Absolutely loved it will go back as it is only 12mins from where we store our caravan but it seems a world away.

Lovely location

Stayed here for a long weekend recently and found the site clean and well maintained. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Good to have small shop on site especially for the ice cream! Fineshade Woods provide lots of interesting walking for all abilities. Would certainly visit again.

Great site

We love coming to Stamford the site is tidy well looked after by two fantastic wardens who work over & beyond hours allocated. The shop is well stocked -those ice creams are fantastic plus the Friday night fish & chips are amazing. Our doggies love the woodland walks & the cycle routes are fantastic. Have stayed twice this year travelling 3 hours to grow there but we'll worth the drive. We'll be back!!

Great Site

Back from another relaxing holiday at Stamford. We love this place, although there are no facilities, this should not deter anybody from this little gem. Plenty of trails and bike routes for kids and cyclists, good play areas in the woods, nice cafe next door to the site. Plenty of wildlife including Red Kites. The wardens Sue and Pete are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble, and the site is kept immaculate. Well stocked shop too. Lots of little villages to visit, also not far from Fotheringhay. We always have a trip to Stamford, although why the Club decided to call the site Stamford I don't know, it is in an area called Top Lodge. Give this site a try, you will love it

Great Stay

Lovely site. No toilet block but didn't find this an issue. Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting relatives on our way back from Sussex to Scotland but would have loved more time to explore the area. Stamford is a lovely and there seems to be loads of places there and around if you wish to eat out. Dog walks very handy and plenty of trails for walking or cycling right next door. Wardens really friendly and helpful too. Will most certainly use this site again!

Speed limit

Great site. Wardens very helpful. Speed limit of 5 miles should be observed by children on their bikes. Parents should make the more aware of the dangers of riding full speed up and down the service roads.

Misleading name of this Caravan Club Site

Thank you for your confirmation of booking for Stamford Caravan Club Site - address shown as 'Fineshade', STAMFORD, LINCOLNSHIRE, NN17 3BB. However, giving this address annoys me since it is INCORRECT & misleading. Please review this listing since the CORRECT address should be: Top Lodge, Fineshade Wood, Corby NN17 3BB, United Kingdom. Maybe the name could be changed to Fineshade Wood Caravan Club Site, since it is some 7.5 miles from Stamford & is in fact in Northamptonshire NOT Lincolnshire.

Please can you let me know if this can be changed?

However this is a very pleasant & peaceful campsite (apart from so many dogs). It is one of my favourite sites which I will visit again hopefully. There are no washing or toilet facilities here, which is not a problem for most caravanners these days.

tranquil, relaxing, natural site.

Beautiful site, surrounded by well kept woodland with fabulous way marked paths for both walking & cycling. Activities for kids as well. As long as you don't mind using your caravan facilities - as no toilet block, a lovely break. Very friendly wardens & helpful. Try Burleigh House for a great day out & Stamford for shopping & eating. We keep coming back as it's easy to get go just off the A1 & kids & dogs love it.

Peaceful site

Arrived on 31st July in glorious sunshine the first time in our 6+ week away and this was our last stop on our tour. We only stayed for 3 nights but have made up our minds to go back.The wardens where very friendly and the site was very clean. It's a very peaceful site there is a play area for the children in the woods, nice walks for the dogs and cycle tracks and activity rides for the older children. If you can manage without a toilet blocks this site is well worth a stay. You have Rutland Water nearby in the school holiday activity's are run another good place for bikes and Stamford is also worth a visit
