Great for everyone

Direct access into Fineshade Woods from the site for walkers, dogs and cyclists. Toilet facilities are available 2 mins walk away in cafe but closed at night. Cycling is family based but over the A43 in Wakerley Woods are some more challenging trails as well as another family route.

A Good Site

We like to visit this site at least twice a year. It is good for walking and cycling with plenty of tracks from the site. They have even put in small challenges along the cycle routes. I have to agree with the comments on both the location and approach to the site. It is a good approach road to test our mountain bikes but I always have to be careful on the approach to the site when towing. It is too easy to dislodge/damage items in the caravan due to the large pot holes.

Favorite Site

Return visit to our favourite site, you cannot fault this site its one of the best in the CC chain, try it you will love it, On this visit we had to cut short our stay due to Illness which made it very hard to pack up our van and get home, however Pete the warden came to the rescue and assisted us. Thanks again. I'm now on the mend and we will be back in October.

Favourite Site

We have been coming to this site for 9 years. In that time we have met many wardens who are there all the time. The present wardens have put their heart and soul into developing this site . They are there all day and and all night. A brilliant site  with fantastic walks and bike rides into the Welland Valley. Enjoy this site

Where are the Wardens?

We recently visited the Stamford site. The one and only warden says he runs the site on 40 hrs per week on his own! There are two couples names up on the board as wardens, so where are they. The site is at the top of an awful single track road and is next to a visitors centre that has a large car park. There is no security on the site especially as the warden leaves at night.

Great site

Have stayed at this site a few times, always good.  Lovely peaceful site with fantastic walks from the site, either walking or cycling.  Cafe next door has lovely food, coffee and ice cream, staff always polite and helpful.  Went into Stamford, lovely old fashioned town.  There was a classic car exhibition on the day we went, free entry - which was a lovely surprise.  Parking was also free on Sundays.  Also went to Rutland Water with our bikes, the cycle ride is excellent.  Only downside for Rutland is that dogs have to be kept on a lead at all times.  Will definitely be back to this site.

Great site

Lovely peaceful site with very helpful friendly wardens. Plenty for all ages to do with the cycle paths and walks adjacent . Dogs also well catered for with their own walk area. The town of Stamford looked lovely ,only had chance for a meal there . We plan to visit again as great for all ages but also very quiet.
