Wide open space with a great view

Warm welcome, kids loved it especially my 4 year old as we were pitched next to the park, great views, not far from the beach or Davids Head if you fancy a light climb, the site is well maintained & the on site facilities were spotless.

A stunning location.

This is a fabulous location near to the coast and to St David’s, in a nice level field with hills and farmlands surrounding it. My wife was a little concerned that there wasn’t any hard standing areas around. I, on the other hand thought it was just perfect. We found a nice spot and set ourselves up, with the awning up just before the heavens opened. I did have some doubts at this stage about being on a grassed area a little way from the access road. We did have quite a lot of rain, but by the next day it was though it never rained that much. The ground was firm and already drying up. The rest of the week we had beautiful weather. We also hired a car for a few days, which was really worth it, some beautiful coastline and coves to visit. It goes without saying really, that a must visit to St David’s is essential. Going back to the site, the staff there are very helpful and suggested some good walks off site, at the time we was there (end of June), there wasn’t a dog exercise area, although they were busy getting one ready and during our stay opened it up for us, but had to be careful as they still needed to put a gate on to complete it. That’s a real bonus to the site for all dogs and their owners. There is a small play area which is useful for small children. The facilities didn’t on the face of it looked big enough for the site, however, it was quite full, but we never struggled or waited in queues for showers or toilets. They were kept tidy and cleaned. The shop had a few things, however there was a farm shop close by which was useful. There isn’t any WiFi, which might turn some people off, not that we bothered, we went to St David’s and used free WiFi in The Farmers Arms with a pint or two. Lovely pub by the way. There are other areas you can get free WiFi. You can pay and use next doors WiFi if you so desired. Overall a great site, great staff and definitely worth a stay there.

Very good site

Stayed for 2 nights. Good size, level pitches, an open site with plenty of space. Facilities of a high standard and always clean. Small shop on site that takes orders for bread etc. There is also a bigger shop on the adjoining site, along with a chip van. The site is very organised with helpful wardens. Lovely walks from site, to the mountain trails and beaches. Quiet country lanes, great for walking dogs. The site is busy and there were people leaving and arriving throughout the day, despite this, it felt quiet and peaceful overall. Seems to be more older couples, rather than families. As for the rooks, no complaints, you hear them at times but it is certainly not intrusive or a disturbance and lets not forget that this is their habitat and they are more entitled to be there than us, who are merely visiting!

Beautiful part of the world

First impressions count and we found the wardens to be very friendly and helpful. The site is well laid out with level, well-drained and cut grassy pitches with plenty of room. It is well kept and maintained - the shower block was spotless. Pembrokeshire is absolutely stunning. We had a rain-free sunny week. There is immediate access to walking trails and cycle paths from the front gate. There are many wonderful places to see - the Pembrokeshire coastal path is challenging in places but well worth it if you are able. Beaches are award winning - note that there is a seasonal dog ban on Whitesands Bay, the nearest beach to the site. At St Davids Head you can see dolphins and porpoises and a plethora of wildlife. The Celtic Coaster bus service runs regularly past the site and runs into the tiny city of St Davids with its beautiful cathedral although we chose to walk there; it's about 20 minutes brisk walk. Highly recommended.

lovely site

We stayed here for 3 nights really enjoyed our stay although a large site very spacious all grass pitches which are flat and well drained. There is no club wifi but we were able to log into to the next door caravan park paying about £5 for 3 days. Some visitors were not so keen on the Rooks and their noise who live in the trees on site but we really enjoyed observing them. The wardens were both helpful and flexible. 1 thing I did not like was seeing visitors with dogs letting their dogs defecate on the grass (pitches) while on the way to the dog walking area - yes they picked it up but come on dog owners think of other site users.

Peace and Quiet

First visit to this site and what a pleasant experience. Lovely site with big pitches. A shower block with space to spare. Helpful wardens who gave us so much useful information. (Definitely use the coastal hopper to get round in summer) And if that wasn't enough, there is the Cathedral, Bishops Palace, Whitesands Bay and St Davids Head to visit. And just to balance things out, wd could have done without the dawn chorus each day at 0430, there's such a thing as too much nature

Excellent

2nd time at this site, but this time for longer, 8 nights. Usual good clean facilities as expected from caravan Club. The shop supplies bread, daily papers, order the day before. A further shop around the corner at a nearby site offers slightly more. Lovely walks around site, to Whitesands Bay, coastal walks and to St. Davids . An ideal place if with a motor home as you can get about, walking or the frequent coastal bus, which is brilliant, helpful drivers. Will definitely visit again

A really nice site

We stayed here for a week at Spring Bank, 2019 and really enjoyed the experience. The site feels "loved" and is well cared for with this extending to the toilet and shower block and the wardens were polite and friendly at all times. You just have to take a walk around the Whitesands area, which I would thoroughly encourage you to do anyway as the scenery is delightful, to appreciate the standard of this site compared to the ones dotted around catering for the crusty surfer community.. Ok, there are crows and they do make "crow noises" during the day, particularly during the dusk tree-top turf war, but you get used to them and they are an integral part of the landscape and are perfectly entitled to their continued tenure. I really enjoyed getting up early to watch the rabbits, particularly the 4 babies playing in the relative safety to the side to the toilet block. I sadly didn't see a badger though the signs of their nocturnal presence are apparent. St David's cathedral is only a 30m walk from the site which proved very convenient after an enjoyable evening at the music festival though the wardens can point you in the way of local taxis.

Lovely place

This was our second stay here and we loved it. The wardens were friendly and always around the site keeping everything clean and tidy. We stayed in the bottom of the meadow and pitch was a little bumpy due to rabbits digging but it was fine for us and had a fantastic view of the mountains. It was a bit quieter at this part of the site as it’s away from the site road so no traffic passing our pitch. Yes the rooks were noisy but we told where they were when we checked in, and it did not really bother us. On site shop has fresh bread, croissants and papers daily but need to be ordered the day before. Lovely little park area for the children. The toilet block was kept immaculate and just the standard you would expect from a club site. One of the wardens went out of her way to help us when we had car trouble and even put us in touch with a local garage, unfortunately he could not help us and had to take car to main dealer which delayed our departure time, as we kept them informed of the situation there was no issue with us leaving after 12pm, and the lovely lady even told us not to rush when we were packing up. We walked into St David’s and visited the cathedral, we also visited the beautiful white sands beach, great for surfing or bodyboarding well worth the visit, you can walk but it’s quite a steep walk back up so we chose to take the car and parking was £5 per day or you can ask for a week pass for £20, the land is owned by the parish of St David’s and all funds raised from parking go back into St David’s to make improvements for locals and tourists. The roads leading to this site can get quite narrow and a little hairy at times, but it certainly won’t stop me from returning. Be aware there is no club WiFi on this site, we didn’t know until we arrived. Overall A lovely relaxing holiday with beautiful scenery.

Natural beauty

It was our first time to stay at St David's and we were more than happy. There are improvements to be made, currently a new dog walk being developed. We would also like to see the motorhome drop point being extended. Perhaps some hard stands would be an advantage. All grass pitches in a Meadow. The staff were friend,y and knowledgeable about the local area and the toilet facilities were very clean. Shop well stocked with orders able to be placed for Croissant, pain chocolat, bread and newspapers. There were obviously preferred pitches by regulars and people were moving into these as they became available. Bottom of the site! All grass with plenty of water points around the site. The crows!! It's nature and when the site was quiet the crows were noisy as the site filled up the crows seemed quieter. We enjoyed watching them. So convenient to the coastal footpath and St David's. The coastal hopper bus was a bonus £3 for a day ticket friendly and helpful drivers. we will definitely return here. Plenty to do and see and wonderful walking.
