A couple of improvements here.

Lovely site. PItches reasonably flat and seem to remain quite dry despite a lot of rain whilst we were there. (Last week of season) Friendly wardens who have worked hard all season to keep site looking good without being manicured. Bring lots of pegs as windy and awning takes a bit of a battering. Facilities clean and warm. We werent phased by the rooks, quite like the sound of them. There is now a small dog pit stop on site which is a great improvement as there is no need to go off site to allow dog to do the necessary. Also, the public footpath from the site gate to the lane leading up to the youth hostel and Carn Llidi has been reinstated and it is such a relief not to have to walk along the lane all the time. We have never visitied in Summer months but plan to do so next year as we think the coastal path flowers will be out and maybe it will be a little less windy. Walks along the coastal path very enjoyable as is the walk into St Davids itself.

A truly beautiful site

This was our first visit here and we arrived on the August bank holiday weekend when the site was full! Luckily we managed to get pitch 27 which had amazing views and was nice and peaceful. We had a warm welcome and was looked after by the lovely team of wardens who happily gave us information on walks and boat trips throughout the week. They are a true credit to this site. The toilet facilities were always clean and quiet despite the site being full. The walks from the sight are plentiful and truly spectacular. We walked the coastal path to St Justinians and then on to St David's quite a few times. Whilst the beach at whitesands has a dog restriction during the summer months the smaller bay a short walk along the coastal path towards St Justinians is beautiful and perfect for everyone! The hop on bus service which I believe only runs in the summer months is fab and extremely good value for money and stops right outside the site. The roads around the site are rather tight and would stress that you plan your route carefully and follow the site book directions! I would thoroughly recommend this site and look forward to staying here again.

A gem of a site

My family have been staying at this site for several years, as the location is between the ancient city and cathedral of St Davids and a fantastic beach at Whitesands. The site itself is a largely open grassed area, approx 10-15 minutes walk to the nearest beach. The site is quite exposed, during some recent storms the winds must have been 40 mph+ at times, which was an interesting test of awning design and pegging out technique ! The facilities at the site are to the usual club standards, but the wardens are a credit to the club being both friendly and helpful. Being located in West Wales is does rain a fair bit, there are no hard standing pitches but we've never had a problem with getting onto and off a pitch though in rainy weather I think the wardens sometimes close off a section of the site that's on a slight slope. The site and the surrounding area is very unspoiled, the club opened a small play area on the site recently . There are some great walks from the site too. There is no club wifi, but we found that we could get decent TV reception and fairly good mobile and 4g. I'd echo the comment that even when the site is busy it always seems to feel peaceful. My family and I like this site a lot and I'm sure we'll keep returning.

Pleasant Site

We stayed on this site in July 2019. Well kept site in picturesque setting. Pleasant walk from the site into St Davids; under half an hour. Easy access to the coastal path and beach at Whitesands which is strictly dog free over the summer. Toilets and showers very clean. Not troubled at all by the much advertised rook problem other than when the stole a corn on the cob from my hot barbecue.

Great site

We stayed here for one night & wish we had stayed longer. We walked to the beach, it was amazing totally unspoilt & ideal for surfing. The camp site next door has a fish & chip van which was less than a 2 minute walk away. There is a little shuttle bus that stops at the entrance of the site & goes to St David’s.

Wide open space with a great view

Warm welcome, kids loved it especially my 4 year old as we were pitched next to the park, great views, not far from the beach or Davids Head if you fancy a light climb, the site is well maintained & the on site facilities were spotless.

A stunning location.

This is a fabulous location near to the coast and to St David’s, in a nice level field with hills and farmlands surrounding it. My wife was a little concerned that there wasn’t any hard standing areas around. I, on the other hand thought it was just perfect. We found a nice spot and set ourselves up, with the awning up just before the heavens opened. I did have some doubts at this stage about being on a grassed area a little way from the access road. We did have quite a lot of rain, but by the next day it was though it never rained that much. The ground was firm and already drying up. The rest of the week we had beautiful weather. We also hired a car for a few days, which was really worth it, some beautiful coastline and coves to visit. It goes without saying really, that a must visit to St David’s is essential. Going back to the site, the staff there are very helpful and suggested some good walks off site, at the time we was there (end of June), there wasn’t a dog exercise area, although they were busy getting one ready and during our stay opened it up for us, but had to be careful as they still needed to put a gate on to complete it. That’s a real bonus to the site for all dogs and their owners. There is a small play area which is useful for small children. The facilities didn’t on the face of it looked big enough for the site, however, it was quite full, but we never struggled or waited in queues for showers or toilets. They were kept tidy and cleaned. The shop had a few things, however there was a farm shop close by which was useful. There isn’t any WiFi, which might turn some people off, not that we bothered, we went to St David’s and used free WiFi in The Farmers Arms with a pint or two. Lovely pub by the way. There are other areas you can get free WiFi. You can pay and use next doors WiFi if you so desired. Overall a great site, great staff and definitely worth a stay there.

Very good site

Stayed for 2 nights. Good size, level pitches, an open site with plenty of space. Facilities of a high standard and always clean. Small shop on site that takes orders for bread etc. There is also a bigger shop on the adjoining site, along with a chip van. The site is very organised with helpful wardens. Lovely walks from site, to the mountain trails and beaches. Quiet country lanes, great for walking dogs. The site is busy and there were people leaving and arriving throughout the day, despite this, it felt quiet and peaceful overall. Seems to be more older couples, rather than families. As for the rooks, no complaints, you hear them at times but it is certainly not intrusive or a disturbance and lets not forget that this is their habitat and they are more entitled to be there than us, who are merely visiting!

Beautiful part of the world

First impressions count and we found the wardens to be very friendly and helpful. The site is well laid out with level, well-drained and cut grassy pitches with plenty of room. It is well kept and maintained - the shower block was spotless. Pembrokeshire is absolutely stunning. We had a rain-free sunny week. There is immediate access to walking trails and cycle paths from the front gate. There are many wonderful places to see - the Pembrokeshire coastal path is challenging in places but well worth it if you are able. Beaches are award winning - note that there is a seasonal dog ban on Whitesands Bay, the nearest beach to the site. At St Davids Head you can see dolphins and porpoises and a plethora of wildlife. The Celtic Coaster bus service runs regularly past the site and runs into the tiny city of St Davids with its beautiful cathedral although we chose to walk there; it's about 20 minutes brisk walk. Highly recommended.
