Horrid wardens

Where to start! Don't turn up at 1155 you'll be turned away till 12. Can't peg an awning down due to rubbish ground. Wardens drive round on their little tractor checking the concentration camp is in order. We had 2 cars on our pitch 2 days in they told me to move it despite it doing no harm and there being no option to pay for additional car. The wifi is rubbish and doesn't work half the time. ive paid to be on holiday not to be nagged by some 2 bit idiot that thinks he is better than me because he has an orange jacket on. Defiantly won't be coming back here unless your wardens are changed.

Good but not perfect

Excellent site, and agree with positive reviews, However..... were near to old toilet block and TV reception was very poor, and only 1 bar on mobile phone.  Likewise despite being only 6 pitches away from wi-fi pole we gave up trying to log in as reception was so bad.  Also bear in mid new part of site exposed to wind, and also noisy from roundabout on road next to site, so take care when choosing pitch

Excellent first site

This was our very first booking since buying our motorhome. This site has set the bar very high! We received a warm and helpful welcome. We found a pitch in a lovely quiet, private corner of the site, and enjoyed watching the wildife from our 'van. The washroom facilities were second to none - spotlessly clean - superb! Our only minor criticism is that the site is not well signposted (at least coming in from the North as we did)

Fourth Visit!

We visit this site with our Grandchidren they love it, ( we prefer the more rural sites normally).  Great location for sea, sand, shops play parks etc. all within easy walking distance. Formby point about a 15 min drive away. The site as always spotless, in every way,we always pitch on the new area which is very open, and can be noisey with motorbikes zooming about, also quite exposed if windy, but we think this area better for the children. Ate at the Fishermans rest as recommended on previous reviews, good food, reasonable and handy. No doubt we will be back again. Just to agree with other reviews, the fees have got very expensive for a family at peak times, we were lucky this time as our kids were off out of this period.

Great Easter Break

We visited the 2nd week of Easter Holidays and were very pleased with the facilities, with everything kept clean and tidy by the hardworking wardens.  There was plenty of activities nearby to keep the children happy and great walks for the dogs. will definitely be back.

Great site for all types

Great site in quiet area of town, but still convenient for the main street and pleasure park. Great dog walk opposite site as well as park behind. Toilet and shower blocks must be amongst the cleanest I have used. Wardens are very helpful and pleasant and able to give local directions to attractions and specialist shops. (Halfords as my battery had died!) Will return.

Great site

This is our third visit to this site and we are enjoying it once again. There are plenty of places to walk our two dogs, we discovered more sand dunes further up the road beyond the roundabout. Today we visited Formby Point where there is lots to see and plenty of places to walk, it's NT owned and costs £5.70 to park but well worth it. Then we had a look at Crosby to see the Anthony Gormley figures, very impressive. The only thing that was odd was when we arrived, the warden neither said hello to us or smiled and we felt most unwelcome. I hope it was a one off but not nice for us.

Excellent for Southport & Liverpool

A very pleasant site with good hard standing pitches & all the usual excellent facilities. Pity the Club are not allowed to add some hedges between the pitches to make it less sterile in the new area. Easy access on foot to Southport and 15 minute walk to the nearer Birkdale train station. Trains every 15 minutes to and from Liverpool which takes 41 minutes to Central Station. Plenty of shops, parks, eating places in Southport. Wi-Fi was poor but possibly due to site being full and there are 2 public footpaths crossing the site which may make some feel a little more vulnerable to unwanted incursions by the public. Quiet and peaceful we thought. Lots for children including a fantastic free adventure play park in the botanic gardens.
