Overall this site is very good, the site is clean, well maintained and the pitches are generous, well kept and level. I do question whether 4 service points are adequate for 170 pitches and I found the SP near the new toilet block extremely frustrating. The ridiculous anti syphon "funnel" on the waste disposal taps are a complete waste of time. It is impossible to get enough water pressure to clean down the facility or rinse out your cassette and if you are not careful you end up with wet feet. More water is wasted unnecessarily, I'm sure there are better anti syphon valves available. I would also suggest that the leave by time is changed to 11.30. People push their departure time to the limit and people were still leaving after we arrived. This puts additional pressure on the wardens and makes it more difficult for new arrivals.
We enjoyed our first visit to the Southport site and will return.
