Another great week at this site clean and quiet and well looked after. Found it easy followed instructions from book followed coast road which is much better. Easy walk into to town trains to Liverpool £5 day return. Sea is a long way out so maybe not so good for children. Plenty of shops nice walk along front.
Great Site - Beach Not So
Having spent many day visits to Southport as a child I was eager to return with hubby and visit the area. The site itself is in a great location and ideal for the town, beach and parks. It is also kept immaculately. How depressing the area was around the beach though, with great areas of the beach actually cordoned off and buildings looking very tatty. Now in total contrast the park areas were amazing and we loved walking the dogs there. Also, access to them from the site is really easy. I would definitely return.
Are we there yet?
Only issue were the road signs ... Satnav didn't quite get us there & the last roundabout needs a sign. Missed this turning twice ! There is further back on esplanade but not at last roundabout. Were so near but do far ! ... Twice round the town ! Now we know for return visit (hope later in year) as all issues in site V good , but would help others.

Disappointed At Assistant wardens
Stayed here 1-4thJune. Booked in ok, thought we had all keys needed until we tried to use toddler bathroom. Reception was closed so rang bell & assistant wardens appeared. We asked if we needed a key & we did but was shocked at the abrupt response. We apologised & didn't realise they worked only until 5pm & returned to our pitch 143. The following morning the same gentleman informed my husband we were not to use the grass area at the side of our pitch as they need access to bins. My husband questioned why all other pitches were allowed to use theirs but no response was given. As I believed this to be a personal grievance following on from the previous event I questioned him outside reception. It was still obvious he was disgruntled & admitted to being annoyed. I expressed my thoughts on customer relations & how we had been left feeling. We shall not return to Southport because of this. We feel unfairly treated as we chose a pitch unaware (no signs) we were a inconvenience to them. We have never been treated this way. I suggested when people book in & it clearly states there is an infant with them they offer the toddler room key. The other staff we dealt with were lovely. The showers clean but unfortunately the park was off site out of parental view unlike other sites. When reading the comments book others express the same views. Costly for what it is.
splendid site
This site never fails to impress, great wardens, site kept immaculate, perfect location.
They are several concerns from people about the cost of the site at peak times, one family even deciding to book in the travelodge!!!as it was cheaper.

Ideal Location
This site is one of the best sites we have stayed at, it is extremely well maintained and clean, most of all the location is perfect, a 10 minute walk takes you Into a lovely, clean and vibrant town of Southport, an hours train ride takes you to the wonderful Liverpool, only £5 return, dropping off on the way to see the famous iron men in the sea at Crosby beach, only wish we could have stayed longer
Could have stayed longer.
This is my second visit to Southport CC site, it has got to be one of my favorite sites, plenty of room to move around, facilities are spotless, wardens very helpful and friendly. Only a few minutes from the centre of Southport and beach area. Good for walking over the dunes with the dog, adjacent park, during the summer months this is a hive of activity. Southport CC site ticks all the right boxes, prior to this visit, we had already booked for the new year.
Nice site
As you would expect from a CC site, absolutely spotless, places to walk out to and very relaxed. Only problem was the wi-fi is really pretty poor!
