Wet and Windy

Had a very wet and windy 3 nights on the Southport site but it did not spoil a good few days. Very close to the sea and dunes plus not too long a walk into Southport town. Had a good toasted tea cake and coffee after viewing the top class photographs that were on display via the Southport Photographic Society's national exhibition with work shown by many of the UK leading photographers, well worth looking at and as its an annual event worth putting in your trip plans for next year. The town centre includes a classy art gallery so events are on all year round plus many good eating places as well as the fun fair etc. Only bad point is that it looks like bike thefts are a problem on the site so bring along a strong padlock and chain plus you need a key to the toilet block and that does not please most campers as we all forget them and have to walk back to our vans to fetch them lol.

First time caravanners at southport

Been as a visitor before with family and it's still a clean quiet site as a caravanner myself, it's just bigger. Facilities are great and fenced off nicely. The hole site is perfectly flat, large plots, plenty room between plots. Ten minute walk to local supermarket and beach but none can be seen.

Excellent site for local area

Stayed for one night but will be back later in season for longer. Lovely site with excellent pitches as usual. Brand new toilet block is fantastic, wardens very friendly. Site perfect for getting into town or on to seafront for some great cycling, we did a 10 mile round trip on flat ground! An excellent base for getting around without moving our camper.

A Great Site For A Break

We have just returned from the Southport site. We used it as a trial run for our New (well New to us Caravan). The staff were very friendly and the facilities were excellent and immaculately clean. The location is brilliant for town and walks along the sands. The weather was the only let down as gale force winds and rain is not exactly great holiday weather. I would recommend this location to anyone and hope to return for a proper break when the weather improves. The New caravan was brill by the way!!

A Great Site

A very well run and clean site. It is a big and busy site; saying that everything runs like clockwork. It is close to the town centre and Ainsdale is only a 45 minute walk along the beach. I would definitely recommend to anyone, as there is something for all tastes.

Ideal location.

Recently got back from spending Christmas at this site. Found the wardens really helpful on arrival and friendly throughout our stay. Located just a few minutes walk from the beach and also ideal location for strolling into town. Situated next to Victoria Park which has a play area for children and lovely for a dog walk. Facilities block lovely and warm and spotlessly clean. Only downside is the rabbits that come out at night and early morning, as they left holes around the site and our dog wanted to chase them.Would recommend and will be going back again.

First visit but won't be our last??

It was our first visit to the site, driving to it from leaving the motorway was a little difficult as it's quite a convoluted journey, this was following the recommended route directions but once there we were very pleased with the site, it's very near to the centre of Southport a 10 minute walk through the park which I would imagine is beautiful in the summer so you can leave your car at the site. Southport is a very clean town with plenty of shops to visit and nice walks on the coastal path/roads and a nice pier to walk along. The site facilities were brand new as the club has extended the site and are at the moment up grading the old section. We travelled to Liverpool on the train which was a very enjoyable day out, Southport has a train station which is situated in the town centre so it's very convenient to travel to various destinations.

Christmas Break

Excellent site well situated for all the amenities of Southport and great for dog owners Access to the facilities well planned avoids inconsiderate campers walking through pitches Looking forward to a return visit.
