Great site for all types

Great site in quiet area of town, but still convenient for the main street and pleasure park. Great dog walk opposite site as well as park behind. Toilet and shower blocks must be amongst the cleanest I have used. Wardens are very helpful and pleasant and able to give local directions to attractions and specialist shops. (Halfords as my battery had died!) Will return.

Great site

This is our third visit to this site and we are enjoying it once again. There are plenty of places to walk our two dogs, we discovered more sand dunes further up the road beyond the roundabout. Today we visited Formby Point where there is lots to see and plenty of places to walk, it's NT owned and costs £5.70 to park but well worth it. Then we had a look at Crosby to see the Anthony Gormley figures, very impressive. The only thing that was odd was when we arrived, the warden neither said hello to us or smiled and we felt most unwelcome. I hope it was a one off but not nice for us.

Excellent for Southport & Liverpool

A very pleasant site with good hard standing pitches & all the usual excellent facilities. Pity the Club are not allowed to add some hedges between the pitches to make it less sterile in the new area. Easy access on foot to Southport and 15 minute walk to the nearer Birkdale train station. Trains every 15 minutes to and from Liverpool which takes 41 minutes to Central Station. Plenty of shops, parks, eating places in Southport. Wi-Fi was poor but possibly due to site being full and there are 2 public footpaths crossing the site which may make some feel a little more vulnerable to unwanted incursions by the public. Quiet and peaceful we thought. Lots for children including a fantastic free adventure play park in the botanic gardens.

Brilliant, weather was great too!

Not a lot to say other than this site remains a 10 out of  10 site, standards have never dropped. Great site for walking to Town Centre.

Another lovely stay at one of our favourite sites

Had a lovely long weekend and as usual excellent facilities, very friendly wardens and great location. There is a lovely pub just at the back on Weld road called the Fishermans Rest which offers top quality food which is very reasonably priced and well worth a visit.

a great week for all ages

Grandchildren s week off school. Thought about where to go and we got it right. A fantastic pitch with sun all day and in April. The children are 2 girls aged 8 and 11. They had a fun packed week and all within walking distance. Play parks , swimming at splashworld and amusements. On the way home they said it was the best location in England. Site clean and well set out. The staff were friendly and helpful. An easy week for the grandparents. Good result

A great site

Our first visit to Southport and we were not disappointed. It was quite easy to get to and we received a very warm welcome from the wardens. The pitches are good all around the site with the toilet/washing facilities not too far away. On the first night there was some road noise, but this is understandable as the site is surrounded by roads. You can walk into Southport and Birkdale very easily as well as Victoria Park, which is right next door to the site and you can access this via the walkway. Our dogs had great fun there. We were so impressed we have booked to stay there again.

A real find on the NW coast

This was our first Southport site visit (April 2016) and we will be back! Going midweek made the price less expensive than indicated by some other reviewers. Location was excellent, close enough for a 10 minute walk into Southport or along the sea front. Supermarket 5 mins walk. Great for cycling on clearly marked cycle routes either down the front or on the Trans Pennine trail which starts here. Southport is really bike friendly. I had some great rides using the maps available on site on the TP trail also visiting many of the villages inland. It would be a real bonus to see more Caravan Club sites providing more detailed information for cyclists on local routes etc. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were first class with a more open area which seemed to have more families and a quieter area with two rows of vans and motorhomes. Looking forward to a return visit later this year :)
